I've done some bad things in my life, Nicolai... Things I'm not proud of. I promised someone I love very much that I would never go back to being that person... But for you, I'll make an exception.

Denzel is the man. Plain and simple.
Def in top 3 of actors
For me he is No. 1
Although, I don't like it when he plays a "bad guy", you cannot go wrong with ANY Denzel movie. Really, just pick one and start your Denzel series.
@@ugaladhthey have to watch Malcolm X
In "Training Day", he's The Un-Equalizer
Best Home Depot commercial ever, Denzel rlly nailed this role
I see what you did there…clever girl.
Sure....if it was HD but it's not. No orange paint at the "Home Mart".
Nice one! :D
One of this movie's ads was a faux Home Mart commercial that featured the scene with Denzel killing in the store.
I have worked for a rival of Home Depot (Harbor Freight) - trust me, I sold enough of some of those tools to know that it wasn't (all) Home Depot. That sledge in particular. I know that sledge hammer so well.
"He didn't come for help, he came for permission." - one of the best lines in the movie.
Agreed!! And her expression when she delivered that line.
I will NEVER give up hope for a John Wick/Equalizer crossover. Would set a body count record for sure. 💀💀💀
The best crossover Will be denzel Washington and lo amo Neeson. In a r rated movie
EQ 4 will be John Wick prequal.
John Wick takes out Robert McCall.
John Wick is who you call to kill the boogey man. Robert McCall is the boogey man.
No because the two series have completely different views on how action is shot
Everyone wants it a team up movie with those 2 would be epic
Not everyone. The series work off entirely different rules and the disrespect it would do the Robert would ruin it. Robert prevails in situations by being smarter and more observant than the ones hes fighting. John essentially just barrels through his enemies
Just saw the third one and it was great. A solid trilogy and Denzel Washington is one of the greats.
The Equalizer was a show on TV between 1985-1989 set in New York with English actor Edward Woodward who was seen in Hot Fuzz as the Neighbourhood watch NWA years later after the show. Denzel did a good job as usual.
The ending harkens back to the old series, which had The Equalizer helping someone different each weekly episode.
Edward Woodward was excellent in this role- he won the 1986 Golden Globe Aware for Best Television Actor.
I miss the Stewart Copeland soundtrack 😁
loved the original series and loved this trilogy. thats how you do a remake
Set in Boston
You two should definitely check out Training Day, which is the movie that won him his Oscar. You will love it, I'm telling you.
yes!
King Kong aint got shit on me!
Yes, definitely watch Training Day. Arguably his best film.
Also from director Anton Fuqua. You can tell he enjoys working with Denzel.
brill flick
By all means Samantha needs to see "Man on Fire" (directed by the late Tony Scott ... Ridley Scott's brother) and "Inside Man", directed by Spike Lee). Both are great movies. Another Tony Scott / Denzel Washington collaboration that was mentioned is "Deja Vu" (a bit of sci-fi) and well worth watching and very underrated. The most unusual Denzel Washington movie that was also mentioned is, "Fallen", which gets into the dark realm of the supernatural. I've never seen a movie quite like it. Totally unique.
Time is on my side, yes it is. Time is on my side, yes it is. Searching for good time just wait and see. You come running back, you come running back, you come running back to me.
@@parker469a: LOL. You got it mate :)
"I AM FILLED WITH POWER, YOU MIGHT THINK I'M AN IMPOTENT PRISONER HANDCUFFED AND SHACKLED LOCKED IN AN EIGHT BY SEVEN CELL EACH NIGHT AND DAY, BUT I AM FILLED WITH A STRENGTH THAT REACHES WAY BEYOND THESE BARS SIR! I CAN CRUSH ANYONE I WANT TO JUST AS EASILY AS DIALLING A TELEPHONE. THERE'S NO ONE BEYOND MY REACH, YOU HEAR ME, NO ONE!"
Can I get some love for Devil In A Blue Dress?
I also like the remake of ''The Magnificent Seven'' although a lot of people didn't care for it. Also don't forget ''The Book of Eli''!
Some of my favorite Denzel movies include, Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, Training Day, and The Siege.
The Siege gets overlooked, but it's such a good movie & great actors.
@@yepimheretoo2270 Watched that pre 9/11.... it was CRAZY how real that movie became afterwards. I especially remember the torture scene. His acting and words there. Powerfull stuff.
Crimson Tide is soooo good. The Siege is great too. And Training Day and Man on Fire are unmissable.
Glory where it all started for classic Denzel...
"DeJa Vu" is a great Denzel Movie, So is "The Book Of Eli" and "Fallen" and "The Bone Collector", "Unstopable", "Devil In A Blue Dress", "The Pelican Brief"!
Philadelphia too!
And many more!!
Virtuosity is slept on too!!! :D
I Love Deja Vu. None of my favorite reactors have done it yet.
Deja Vu and Fallen, yes please!
If you want another good Denzel movie, I would recommend Unstoppable. Its a hidden gem, also stars Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson.
Inside Man is an underrated film. A great cast, good pacing and an interesting take on a classic trope. Denzel’s performance is one of my favourite of his filmography. He stole the show and his scenes with Christopher Plummer are so good. Hope to se you react to that, Training Day, American Gangster and Flight.
It's not underrated. 🤡
Yes. Add Fallen in there also. Don't see alot reacting to that and it's one of my favs with Denzel
inside man is fantastic, love it
All great movies. Denzel IS the MAN!
@@JordanJMyersTiiime is on my side. Yes it is!
This is a great movie. You should watch Man on Fire with Denzel Washington
Denzel Washinton embodies every action movie trope in an awesome performance.
An awesome movie...I never get tired of this one.
If you want an excellent jumpscare movie, I HIGHLY recommend *Don't Breathe.* You'd never guess the wimp Ike from Tombstone could be so terrifying.
The differnce is the weight and gravity of Denzel's acting. He is magnetic.
Denzel delivers with his films. Both in the action and themes. This one is quite the summer powerhouse, definitely one to be engrossed in with popcorn and soda. Intense, brutal and the bad guys sure have it coming.
I'm so happy that you guys loved this movie. I love it. Hope you watch part 2 soon. Thanks.
I was a PA on this here in my city Boston! Denzel was a pleasure to work with on set. Truly a genuine dude. The movie went almost a few months late in production so it was stressful at times but it was def worth it. Just seen the 3rd one over the weekend and it’s definitely the most violent one. Can’t wait for you guy’s reaction for the second one ❤
Check out these other Denzel Washington films: 1. Devil In A Blue Dress 2. Training Day 3. Flight He plays 3 very different characters in each. Some of his best work.
Heck yeah to Devil in a Blue Dress! A real classic.
I was bummed that no sequels were ever made to Devil in a Blue Dress; I presume it didn’t make enough do-re-mi. But it’s a great series of mystery novels set in 40s L.A. Flight is also very different for him and was gripping!
Flight was sooo good! The hearing scene got me
@@Divamarja_CAMe too. It’s not like there isn’t plenty more source material. That novel series is great - it actually starts in post war 40s LA like you said, but the novels go through normal time - through the 50s and 60s into the 70s.
*Inside Man* was a great movie!! I've seen it too many times to count.
*The Tragedy of Macbeth* (2021) with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, directed by Joel Coen, might be my favorite Denzel movie right now. It was beautiful and he was amazing in it.
Inside Man is EPIC!!! 👍😎👍
Crimson Tide is my favorite. Denzel and Gene Hackman kill it. Such a nail biter.
Chief of the boat!
"You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too" is one of the coldest lines in this movie or ANY movie ever.
I have to leave this comment for everyone who reacts to this movie.
Honey has been used by injured warriors for thousands of years.
It acts as an anti bacterial agent and the nutrient rich base promotes healing.❤
YES!!
You're gonna love this movie!
Based on the 1985-1989 TV series of the same name.
A former CIA operative turns vigilante to help those in need of his assistance.
Be sure to watch THE EQUALIZER 2.
Wel technically he was mi6 ( British secret intelligence) gewat show. Edward woodward
@@shanenolan5625 Did the show ever reveal that he was MI6? because I remember the premise stating that he was a former operative of the company/Agency (CIA) but I'll admit that didn't watch that much of the show so I can't say for sure.
Mr Weaver and Sgt Howie
A fine actor 😊😊😊
there's also a currently running series with Queen Latifah too
@@rccraig7580Well he was extremely obviously British. The CIA is exclusively American. I think having a British actor playing a British character made it pretty clear that he was supposed to be former MI6.
Robert knows all the right moves. That's why I think The Pips dance is an in-joke. He can improvise and turn any object into a weapon. Probably the best revenge movie since Man on Fire.
nah JW is the best. Lots of movies where the revenge is because of something done to another human but JW is the only series where the main character kills over 400 people because of a dog.
@@Necrowolf81 Technically speaking, it was a puppy and it represented his wife's love.
Never thought this would've been a trilogy but I'm so glad it did.
The Equalizer series (originally a series with Edward Woodward) has been brilliant. Other good Denzil movies include the aforementioned MAN ON FIRE, DEJA VU, TRAINING DAY, BOOK OF ELI, PHILADELPHIA and FALLEN. I suspect there are more I haven't yet seen.
Unstoppable, Devil in a Blue Dress, and the Pelham 123 remake are all solid Denzel also.
@@LordVolkov Pelham! Yep thats another one I've seen and slipped..
The Bone Collector, Heart Condition, Crimson Tide (which they've seen), Virtuosity... Okay that last was a little cheesy, but it was the 90s.
American gangster, Ricochet....
The Ed Woodward TV series was immense, the opening credits with the soundtrack was so iconic for the 80s
3 years later my request has been answered 😂 and yes I did on patron hope they do bad boys as well
Like a lot of what are now serious actors Bill Pullman started out doing comedies. He is absolutely hilarious in *Ruthless People* (1986) with Bette Midler and Danny DeVito.
Don't forget Spaceballs
@@DiggitySlice Yeah, I know it's an unpopular opinion but I hate Spaceballs. 🤷♀️
YAAAASSSS RUTHLESS PEOPLE 💜💜
I love what the cop said about Bills character: "This man might be the stupidest person on the face of the earth. Perhaps we should shoot him."😅
The Equalizer and John Wick both released in 2014, and in 2012 Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise was released. All have a similar and brutal action feel to them, with a hint of a detective story throughout (John Wick the least on that front, but he's still finding his way through to the end goal).
So many people miss the Jack Reacher movies. They will watch the TV series but they sleep on the movies which is odd to me considering Tom Cruise is the playing Jack Reacher.
Please do a Denzel series like Arnold and Sylvester. Incredible actor. So many great movies. Inside Man, hurricane, training day, Pelican Brief and Philadelphia
Amazing how many reactors have not watched many Denzel films .....dude has a crazy catalog of movies way before equalizer.
Malcom ×
@@cameronhill9746 I would love Malcolm x but people stay away for controversial reasons.
Completely forgot Malcolm X which is one his best. Not as good as Glory but close
Hurricane is better though
man on fire is one of Denzels best movies.
Cool movie for sure. You guys absolutely HAVE to do "Training Day". Densel won the best actor award for it and has great performances all around. Awesome movie I know you two will love. And a non Denzel movie you need to watch is "Sicario". A tense drama that is a great movie also.
*Inside Man* is great. I would also highly recommend *Deja Vu* (2006). A great sci fi-ish *Denzel* film.
deja vu I definitely recommend that movie he has some other great movies from the late '90s in to the early 2000s
Book of Eli for Denzel.
Yes yes yes! Love that movie
On the original TV series, McCall had a son who was played by William Zabka, AKA Johnny from The Karate Kid/Cobra Kai.
Coincidentally, the actress who plays his friend/former boss Susan appeared on an episode of the original series.
I watched the og series.
Knew that Zabka was McCall's son.
Melissa Leo on the series?!
Must've missed that one.
Hope you two are having an great and awesome weekend ❤
Out of time; John Q; DeJavu; all exceptional!!
There was rolled up newspaper wedged on the wall that was used to start fires.
The Equalizer is a modern take on an old TV show by the same name.
A couple of early Denzel movies you can add to a future poll are two great ones "The Hurricane" and "Philadelphia" Those two movies really made him my favorite actor.
❤ To Daniel, Sam and your new baby.
Yessss! And Devil in a Blue Dress is another good classic Denzel film.
This is the first movie series for Denzel.
His first reappearing character.
"Deja Vu" is a really good sci-fi movie with Denzel. It's not mentioned all that often, but it's quite good.
The old series from the 80's with Edward Woodward was something the family and i used to watch together. These movies with Denzel are a solid adaptation even if they are more brutal for our desensitised 'modern' era.
Don't know if y'all caught this, but if you recall at the start, when they were trying to guess what Denzel's character used to do, he said he was a pip, then starts dancing.
Now go to the climactic standoff, and when the music starts playing in the Home Mart, it is Gladys Knight and the Pips!
Denzel is such a great actor with almost no bad films( I didn't care for Training Day but its still pretty good). A film I think is under rated but is so good with a cool concept, great cast and I think you will enjoy is Deja Vu from 2006.
I loved that you never called the "Home Mart" store Home Depot even once by mistake like ALL the other channels have done. Good job paying attention 👍👏👊✌❤
The scene with Denzel and Marton Csokas in the restaurant is acting of the highest order. Some of it not involving speaking, just facial expressions.
Denzel:”When you pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too.”
So a positive note, I like to say this. Denzel Washington comes from the city of Mount Vernon, New York. It is the same city that I grew up in. He makes us very proud to represent the city of Mount Vernon, New York. He never takes for granted where he's from. He always represents the city. We have a lot of talent from the city of mount vernon in different genres, whether it's actors, musicians, professional athletes, but denzel stands above them all. He makes a so proud.
He's a New Yorker
Easiest way to clean a blender, put a couple cups of hot water into it, a couple drops of dish soap, and let it run on high for 30 seconds or so. The entire bottom half and the blade assembly are now clean, just clean the sides a bit and then rinse it all out. No dis-assembly required.
Nobody is great. You two will definitely enjoy it. Some Denzel films I really like: Philadelphia; Crimson Tide; Flight; American Gangster.
i remember when i first watched this movie, i knew denzel's character was going to be some dangerous and highly proficient person but that first scene where he kills slavi and his men completely shocked me. i remember being unprepared for the brutality and cold efficiency of the violence when seeing it. such a gratifying scene and it really establishes what the Equalizer is capable of for the rest of the movie.
I loved the original tv series as a kid. This movie is how you do an adaptation of that tv series. I really recommend Man on Fire and Fallen -- both good Denzel movies. Book of Elie is also a must Denzel movie!
"Deja Vu" is a must, it's super interesting crime thirller with a unique twist. Also hardly any reactors have done it. My absolute favorite with Denzel is American Gangster, the true story of Fank Lucas a drug kingpin in New York in the 60's and 70's
Virtuosity is a good Denzel movie from the 90s, it’s super cheesy good fun and it also stars Russell Crowe in one of the most Unhinged roles of his career
If you want more Denzel, watch Man on Fire, which stars a young Dakota Fanning. Speaking of Fanning, she's going to be in the third one with Denzel.
The main difference between Denzel’s character and Keanu’s character is Denzel rarely used a weapon, his body skills is his weapon. Keanu most times used weapons.
Ricochet is one of my favorite Denzel movies; it is WILD, it features John Lithgow in a god tier level over the top crazy villain role
This series is based off an 80s TV show of the same name. Where each episode a retired secret operative (Robert McCall) helps people in need advertising his services in the newspaper, like we see Robert do at the end of this film.
Just saw E3! It’s the best in the series! Great closer to a great series. Recommended Denzel films:
- Training Day
- Man On Fire
- Malcolm X
- American Gangster
- Inside Man
- Crimson Tide
- Unstoppable
- Hurricane
- Book Of Eli
- He got game
-2 guns.
My uncle's one criterion for action movies: Good killin'. "The Equalizer" passes the test.
Hell yeah, this was a pleasant surprise to watch after work lol these are like some of my favorite movies! Definitely check out Training Day (2001) with Denzel, was also made by the same director, Antoine Fuqua.
Fun movie. Based on the TV show "The Equalizer" (1985-1989). Great reaction as always. BTW, honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Pine tar and some other natural ingredients can also used for wound care.
Hey guys...great reaction. So glad that you started this series. One of my favorites for sure. Cant wait till you do part 2. Definitely has more heart to it. Also just saw 3 tonight and I'll just say that they get better
Great reaction, as always.
Another of my favorite Denzel Washington movies is "Deja Vu," in which he plays a government agent trying to figure out who committed a terrorist act and discovers that the government has secretly invented time travel, and he can go back in time and stop the terrorist act from happening.
One thing I liked about Deja Vu, was that I thought 3 times what the ending of the movie was going to be, only to be shot down on each one along the way, ultimately, it wasn't any of them.
Even with the first scene Robert didn't have the gun in his hand, just directed it. It was a nice touch that he claimed to be a Pip and then played a Pip tune at the Hardware store to draw Teddy's response, Teddy had to have it checked out.
After you finish this series, may is guest the Book of Eli! Another action packed but meaningful movie.
23:45 “He didn’t come for help, he came for permission” Great line by Melissa Leo.
I'm one of those goofballs who likes the old TV show more than the Denzel remakes...but I MUST watch this reaction because I love TBR Schmitt even more! 👍
Deja Vu and Man on fire are both very enjoyable Denzel movies.
A very overlooked film is He got game with a banging soundtrack by Public enemy
This movie has a great line that i still use when i try to get better at something big in my life. “Its about progress, not perfection.”
"CRIMSON TIDE" w/ him and Gene Hackman is top tier Denzel in his prime!! Also, Training Day,Safe House,Book of Eli,Out of Time!!
Cool reaction as always Schmitt & Samantha, you both have a good night
I've been waiting to see you two do a review of The Equalizer. So glad you enjoyed it and that you are interested in continuing the series. Definitely one of my favorites as well. Thank you, I enjoyed watching with you and seeing your reactions. 😊
I really liked how easily Robert dispatched with the big bad in this film. It’s cool how as good as that guy was, it shows that Robert is just THAT good at what he does.
You and Samantha have amazing reactions! Happy New Year!
25:15 "He probably needed a little bit of fresh air" lol that cracked me up
I forgot to mention. Out of Time and Deja Vu are terrific, underrated Denzel movies.
I just thought of something...Sam's opening "hello" would be a fantastic meme! 😊
Also.. "Nobody" is def worth a watch...its a slightly different take on action.
Denzel's "The Book of Eli" is a goodie to add to the list
Robert McCall was a former U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant and then Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) officer doing black ops.
The synopsis of EQ1 was revealed too early in 2012.
McCall's history was suppose to be kept a secret until the film.
To differentiate from the McCall of the tv series.
Even if it was spoiled, I did enjoy it.
You may want more wholesome and uplifting movies on your schedule when you have your baby and will be stressed & emotional. I suggest:
Cocoon 1985
Win Win 2011
Overboard 1987
Weekend at Bernie's 1989
The Way Back 2010
Great job making ASSumptions. For some people movies like this are stress relievers.
@@Necrowolf81 Wow, you sure took that personally
Nobody shares the same script writer as the first John Wick. They start with similarities but go off in different directions. So much fun.
Man on Fire is a MUST! Cant wait to see the baby Schmitt! 🎉🎉
My favorite Denzel movies are "Remember the Titans" and "The Pelican Brief"! I'm so glad you liked "The Equalizer".
Denzel , is like the would be knight in his book Don Quixote ,except McCall delivers his acts of chivalry with skill and violence . Kudos to the cast, Nicolai played so chillingly by Marton Csokas was truly evil.
Your crimson tide reaction was awesome and it's still my favourite Denzel performance from his "younger days" 😂 but he has been consistently great over his career. In my opinion his absolute best performances have come in Training day and Fences and they showcase Oscar worthy acting but he's been in some wonderful movies over the years. Some of my favourites:
Fallen
Malcolm X
Philadelphia
Man on fire
John Q
The book of Eli
The siege
Roman j Israel esq
One look at the thumbnail reaction image and I knew what scene it was; man that barbwire setup was a slasher level kill
This movie is like what if John Wick was Batman and Jason Voorhees
My Dad loved the Equalizer TV series. I wish he was still around to see these films.
Its my head cannon that The Equalizer, Nobody, and John Wick are all in the same cinematic universe. Also I'm voting Remember the Titans as your next Denzel movie.
“He got game” is another great film of his.
The original Equalizer, Edward Woodward, was a TV series that I used to watch as a child. The show aired in 1985 and was excellent.
good review and you allow the viewer to watch on a big screen well done👍
I saw E3 twice. It was fuckin AWESOME. His background is: DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency Spy, Hitman/Assassin, and Black Ops Operative (formerly)
United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant (formerly)
SKILLS: military training, high intelligence, expert marksman, expert martial artist, high pain tolerance, expertise in weaponry, master tactician, knife mastery, explosive mastery, multilingualism
I foolishly started to list great Denzel movies for you guys, but then I realized that it's all of them lol.
Love this movie. Easily rewatchable
I never noticed that “I hit it on something stupid” was a paraphrase of what Terry/Elvina said earlier.
I know people are talking about Denzel's big movies, but please don't miss out on some of his best older films like Fallen (1998), The Siege (1998) and Courage Under Fire (1996)
The song in the hardware store was amazing. It's called Zack Hemsey - "Vengeance" if anyone is curious.
