The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS15 ($280) compact Mega Zoom is the company's second-in-command to the venerable Lumix DMC-ZS20. While the new ZS20 benefits from GPS, a longer 20x optical zoom lens and 60P HD video, the Lumix DMC-ZS15 shares the same sensor technology and main features with its slightly more powerful fraternal twin. Been buying the Lumix line since 2005. Best point and shoots out there from an image quality to price standpoint. in my opinion.

There is an auto white balance that works quite well:
In the White Balance settings menu
Select the set button and press [MENU/SET].
Point the camera towards a white object (e.g. paper) and press [MENU/SET] again
White Balance is set
• Even if the camera’s power is OFF, the set White Balance is remembered.
• It may not be possible to set the correct White Balance if subjects are too bright or too dark. In this case, adjust the brightness and try to set the White Balance again.

I am actually now looking into the 230HS, will wait for the Sony reviews though, glad this format is closer to your infosyncworld format. Though, still love the infosyncworld format better...

I bought the silver (jan 2013) @Amazon $190.00 specifically for the "Basic" "Plain" "old fashioned switches & dials"Easy to see & read,it's very much user friendly,when in video mode,adjusting zoom is noisy while recording sound,didn't buy it for a video cam though.Close up photo detail is crazy amazing clear.Light & weak flash problems seem to be with most so I get around it.I didn't want any smaller.Battery seems to drain way too much during non use.I'm new to this, still using film in 2012

I should've listened to you and get the Canon Powershot SX260HS, I got the Panasonic Lumix ZS-19 which is similar to this albeit a slightly higher end model, has on par performance but the problem is poor low light performance. Basically, all my photos taken in low light situations are unusable. Really miss ya Mike and thanks for the reviews! Fortunately, got a SX260HS on clearence, indeed a dramatic difference, though now I have two cameras for a hair over $400.
I think i'll go with the Canon sx260hs ty.

You're trying to compare two different cameras. The Auto mode is better on the ZS15. I think you're the one who needs to do the trial and error.
methinks you're drinking too much canonicea and not using the zs15 a lot. it has a 24mm wide angle not 25; unless you got a special one manufactured by canon....

The cool thing is, here in 2021, I purchased one just now for $65 like new; The reason is I had bought a '2.7K' c h i n e s e POS camcorder which was a SUPER CLUSTER with horrible 1280x720 (complete liars) from Amazon who refuse to vet these fake sellers. All those camcorders are the same exact thing whether marked 1080/2.7K/4K. The ZS15 is magnitudes better than these garbage plastic bins.
