- Changing the oil on a 1996 Toyota HiAce with a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine.
For Tools, Parts, Specs - See full description
Parts:
OEM Oil Filter - amzn.to/47suO2t
OEM Fuel Filter amzn.to/47jyrb4
Aftermarket Fuel Filter - amzn.to/46fkTMB
Specs:
-7.0 Liters / 7.4 US Quarts - Recommended Oil Capacity with Oil Filter change
-6.4 Liters / 6.8 US Quarts - Recommended Oil Capacity without Oil Filter change
-25 ft/lbs Oil Drain Plug Torque
**At the end of the video, I attempted a procedure called “Clear Flood Mode Crank” but it does not work. The purpose is to crank the engine without ignition to build oil pressure and prime the oil filter.
Special Thanks to Nathan Sharma (NathanSharma87) as I watched his videos to create this one. Also special thanks to my HiAce friend Matt Pistritto.
Awesome 👌
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for posting this DIY video. Just bought a 97 HiAce. This really helps.
I've got a '93 super custom. Super helpful, thanks for making this!
Thank you and you’re welcome. 🙏
I’ll add videos of any repairs or modifications I do in the future.
I have townace, and this is a huge help! Need to change mine before a road trip.
Such a massive help, thanks man
nice video no bullshit✓✓✓
thanks from down under.
cheers
wow that is really a pain in the richard. I'm really suprised at this odd and cramped location. It should be under the vehicle like it is on my estima. a quick change.
It would be great if you could provide some part numbers. I tried to look up Nathan's numbers but can't find anything close in the states. My filters are in need of changing for sure!
Dude that paint job is sick. Is that factory or did you have a shop do it?
@@Calebsfieldnotes Blue is the only original color.
Bottom and top was resprayed to Cement.
Top originally matched the blue and bottom was originally a metallic silver, similar to the cement color.
Vinyl decal is custom, made by a vinyl business out in Virginia.
Look up “HiAce Club Field” to see how it originally looked. 🤙
Hey man! Possibly have a link for the fuel filter?
Yes I do! Thanks for asking - OEM fuel filter amzn.to/47jyrb4
Aftermarket fuel filter - amzn.to/46fkTMB
I used an aftermarket fuel filter in this video, but switched to the OEM fuel filter the next time I serviced the Hiace.
Any leaks after changing it to full synthetic? I have the same engine with 185k kms and contemplating to put shell T6 fully synthetic coz it may cause leaks.
@@jehpogi9126 no leaks!
Try changing the knock sensors on that thing 😂 !!!
😳🤫😂
where is the obd port located
I have a 1994 hiace super custom will this fit?
Hello I have toyota hiace 1993 you know where I can find the oli filter and air filter I live in Washington state thank you

Nope too much work. Would rather take it to jiffy lube 👍🏼
I wouldn’t want a jiffy lube touching that beautiful van, also it’s possible not a lot of shops would even do mid engine changes anymore
If you want to go to jiffy lube.... Do not buy one of these vans!!!
