In view of rising cases of COVID-19 in Bihar state, the Bihar Government decided to close all the religious places for devotees from 6th to 21st January, 2022.

Today is Ganden Ngamchoe day : Ganden Ngangchoe (Lotus Lantern Festival) is a religious festival that celebrated since Great Gelugpa (commonly known as the Yellow Hat Sect) founder Tsongkhapa's death on October 25 1419, his teaching influenced almost whole Tibet in 15th century.
On this day Tibetans light butter lamps on their roof and pray for him, and the monasteries also light thousands of butter lamps all around the monasteries and all monks gathered in the main assembly hall to pray, for dinner Tibetans eat Pathuk(Tibetan hand-make pasta dough noodles).

Kolkata: Siberia is not just a land of salt mines, concentration camps and the witness to one of the worst purges in human history, it is also a land of diamonds, gold and a vibrant tribal culture. The standards of living in Siberia are higher than those of Russia in general, and the land is a melting pot of Slavic and Eastern cultures.
"Siberia is a country where the sun never sets," said KVP Nair of the India International Art Centre, who recently completed a visit to this remote area. His photographs of the mysterious land are currently on display at the Gorky Sadan in the city. Three quarters of the Russian Federation lies within Siberia, the distance being over 10,000 miles from the Urals in the west to the Bering Sea in the east. "So, if ever this area was ever to become independent, Siberia would be the largest country in the world by itself," Nair said.
A unique feature of Siberian culture is the influence of Shamanism, the animistic religion, believed to be oldest form of religion in the world. "This has such a level of penetration among the people that although the official religions practised Tibetan Buddhism, they still venerate their totems."
