We have to be realistic. Firoujza is not even in the top 10 for Classical Chess. He is an online sensation and obviously has a talent for speed chess to be sure, but to be throwing around the idea of him being a future world champion is a little unrealistic at this point.

Have two players ever shaken hands at the end and one player thought it was a draw offer and the other thought it was a resignation? I can imagination that one person may see a perpetual or something similar while the other thinks there's a winning combination.
Never heard of it. I only know about a similar situation at Tata Steel 2019, where Shankland resigned against Giri in a drawn position. Before accepting the handshake, Giri asked if he was resigning.
Hao stopped the clocks before he shook hands, so that and his losing position makes it clear he resigned. This happened to me in an OTB game once because I didn't know to stop the clocks before shaking my opponent's hand.
Really amazing. When watching the game I thought h4 at two points was an easy draw, because black can't take and has to let the other guy have a passed pawn of his own which makes it almost impossible to use the own bishop later on. First thing white does after the game is point at h4. I love moments like this.
Wang Hao had two chances in a ROW to play h4 at around 15:19 which is such a logical move for counterplay and he had 1min30sec on the clock!! More than enough time for such a strong player like him. And then after the game he mentions h4 at 17:47, I'm so confused...you knew it and still didn't stop to think about it. Not sure if these super GMs are tired of so many games or it's the Alireza effect sort of like the Magnus effect lol

It was not a draw position. The firouzja knight was better piece, and his pawn structure was better too. 3 vs 2 in queenside, and 1 pawn stopping 2 pawns. Also the king was a little better. So, for me, Hao was totally lost. Firouzja wanted to exchange his bishop for the white knight, but at least exchange pair o Knights, but activate his king.
