Is one sperm contains 23 chromosomes? If so sex chromosomes carried by 2 sperms, one x and one carries y? Or both xand y are in same sperm how it fusion with only x to y or xto x .not clear this point, please explain again
It's simple really. Sperms carry one set of chromosomes so say hypothetically if 40k sperms are released in an intercourse 20k can have x chromosome and 20k can have y but the egg carries only x chromosome. So now only one sperm can fuse with the egg so if a sperm carrying x chromosomes fuses with the egg then it forms a girl (xx) but if a sperm with y chromosome fuses with the egg then it forms a boy ( xy)
the best explanation ever heard from a teacher.
