Evan is dead wrong. This was a busy industrial port filled with companies. The mayor was part of forcing tenants out. So this place was NOT abandoned.

Great content, I've been binge watching all of your videos and I love them! Please make a video about the 9-5 life in NY. As most people who go there to live, what's the expected way of life when you work 9-5 for example? Things like the amount of work you're expected to do, the level of service you're expected to provide, types of jobs that you're most likely to land if you're just moving there, things to do before and after work, average time it can take to get to get to work, places to go in your lunch break, office buildings, etc. I'm just interested to see the working culture there. :)

Walk away from Industry City and the river (Inland) three blocks you will find Green-Wood Cemetery, the third oldest cemetery in the United States. Modeled on Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, Green-Wood is the place to be buried in NYC. It has LOTS of famous "inhabitants." Worth a visit when you are next there.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is in Edgewater NJ, used to go there via Port Authority Bus, this reminds me of that place, nice to have something right here in NYC. Mentioned this once before but want delicious Takoyaki head to Otafuku in the East Village, little take out Japanese street style food, yum.

Go to Mitsuwa Marketplace. It’s a small shopping center directly across the bay from Manhattan with a Japanese supermarket, small Japanese restaurants and bakeries, a book store, and so many other great Japanese goods!

We usually stock up on frozen Japanese food from a supermarket out in Queens. This looks like it'll be our go to for Japanese shopping and tasting! Now we're getting hungry!!! Did they have a lot of gyoza in the frozen section?

Honestly I didnt get a ton of time to peruse as we were filming, but I have a feeling they've got what you're looking for. It wasn't as expensive as I expected either.. if this was in Manhattan, FORGET it hahaha.

While it's not the real deal, I wouldn't call it a trap. I thought the prices were fine and the food quality quite good. But it's not like going to Tokyo.. sometimes when we can't travel this is still a good fix .
