    When I think of Porsche, luxury, prestige, and class are never what I think about. Maybe racing prestige may pop into my mind to a minute degree, but I mainly think about performance, lovely induction and exhaust sounds, and the absurd fun of throwing that big fat booty around.

    My 911 is easily the most satisfying driving experience I’ve ever had

    The 996 GT3 owner is my kind of guy. Black 911 with a Speedy Pro Moonwatch!

    Really cool format and content, definitely a great addition to the Porsche content on TH-cam. Subbed!

    You guys touched on some very cool points on owning a 911. I think the social aspect is so overlooked and yet so valuable. I've made so many great friends over the years. I'm going out to breakfast this morning with a group of friends that I met randomly driving through some mountain town three years ago. We get together once a month or so for a drive and food.

    Brilliant cars. I had a stock '89 3.2 Carerra and then a mildly modified 996 GT3. Brilliant cars especially the GT3 which I had for 12 years and which I regret selling.

      I have a Gemballa 911 Convertible 1984 for the last 33 years and its so special and ITS SO MUCH FUN !!! . Nothing is available on the market to replace it .th-cam.com/video/WU19ztb5SXU/w-d-xo.html

    For me re the question if money was no object, I'd get a Ruf. All the cars here are gorgeous and desirable but the one that really turns my crank is the blue GT3 Touring.

    Nice video, suggest to also ask the 718 and 981 crowds as these segments cater many porsche club users, not to mention many now are entering race circuits

      Great suggestion! It may take some time before we chat with that crowd.

    They might be expensive but they don't depreciate which nearly all other cars do. Factor that in and there not expensive at all, I made 20% on my last Cayman S in 2 yrs!

    • @SESFilms

      @@SESFilms Urgh, "investment" in this context...look at it in terms of fun that let's you lose less value during the years than with some other car. Nothing more. Should never be an investment.

    Interesting vid, I have a 2022 718 Cayman GTS 4.0
    I’m definitely a Porsche guy and I daily mine. I think you miss part of the culture of you limit it to the 911 owners

    • @SESFilms
      @SESFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you, we didn’t capture the Porsche culture to it’s entirety. We will in the future, this was the first episode of a show we are working on, this was a test and now we will improve. Thank you for sharing and don’t have too much fun with your 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 😊🙈

    Cost of ownership is worse than you can imagine. Most mechanics won't work on them and even the so-called Porsche 'specialists' usually do a terrible job fixing them as well. If you have a problem with your transmission, good luck. Your local shop won't fix it and you will have to send it out to a specialist to get it worked on and it still won't work right. Been there done that.

    • @verdict1163
      @verdict1163 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true about shops doing poor work, even "good" shops. I've owned a lot of enthusiast cars and shops don't really do a good job.
      There will always be something that is not quite adjusted right and takes multiple trips to fix.

      The mac daddys I know don't carp about money- they have plenty. The funny thing is even though they could easily afford to have a shop maintain their longhoods they prefer to do it themselves. As daddy mac says- "If you want something done right, do her yourself".

    Was interested in this until I heard you pronounce Porsche. Would think you would pronounce it correctly. You don’t. Hard to have much confidence in what you have to say.

    • @fredtolliver4798
      @fredtolliver4798 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny you should say that....I've heard many people over the years pronounce it without the "shuh" at the end, including Jay Leno, and I think he knows a thing or two about cars, but I'll share this just for kicks...a few years ago a female acquaintance of mine heard me say it without the "shuh" and tried to correct me, and I just laughed, and asked her to name 3 different models they offered, and she couldn't name one, which I knew, because she didn't know s--- about cars....she was all mouth and no brains, but she just couldn't resist trying to correct me, because she attended a Porsche event with another one of her shit for brain girlfriends.....lol

    Going to toally disagree with the love for that white one. Looks like some bolted on kit car. Horrific. I'd be embarrassed to drive that as a Porsche owner for decades. Reminds me of some kitted out Honda or something. Yuck.
