  • The first of a few looks at this collection, with some opposing Russians to follow. All of the armoured vehicles are from GHQ and the infantry and support weapons are Adler.

    These are great - not only is the painting very high quality, the colour palettes you've used seemto strike a perfect balance between authenticity and style

    Wow those are fantastic!!! Can I ask what you used for the base colors on the tanks? They look great!!!

      Thank you! As it happens I'm not sure I entirely remember, I don't think it was one of the various versions of 'official' dunkelgelb, I probably just used a (Vallejo) camouflage beige over a black primer and dark-ish khaki/ochre tone. Couple of layers with a light wash in between to help pick out some of the details. Maybe a light highlight of some raised areas or edges after that. Fairly simple really and a lot can depend on what the individual feels looks right to them at different distances too.

    Beautiful work. May I ask, your basing, is it just a dark brown with a sort of ivory-ish drybrush? Very pleasing for this scale.

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, it’s essentially the Baccus Miniatures basing system. Sand, dark wash, some layered highlights then flock. That’s it!

    I had to see what 6mm scales to, as I have some 1/144 panzers. Holy smokes, the 6mm are tiny. Nice paint work! Good job!

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, yes they are pretty small! I realise I didn't put a scale context in the video anywhere, but the stills with my fingers in might give some sense of things.

    Funny. it seems we built the same force exactly but for the Pz IIIs. Lovely work.
    What size are the bases of your infantry?

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Strange coincidence and thank you. They're packed away right now, I think all of the infantry bases are at least 30mm deep and then I settled for something like 45mm or 50mm wide for the smaller infantry sections (6-8ish men) and for 10 plus (including the Pz Pioniere seen in this) a wider base to give a bit more room to fit them in.

    • @thelastbattalion3509

      Thank you. I’ll probably use GMTs Panzer! rules, converted for miniatures on the tabletop.

      Thank you. Speculatively I might use Blitzkrieg Commander with them, but I'm trying to find time to use GMT's Panzer! rules for them, converted to miniatures.

  • @terrylyn

    For 10mm models those look incredibly detailed, probably the nicest I've seen.

    • @DE-rd1zl
      @DE-rd1zl ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Umm...I think the title says 6mm...not 10mm. But yes, there are some 10mm that look good. However, GHQ makes 6mm micro armour and while more expensive, it's the quality of detail you're getting.

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much - as pointed out these are in fact 6mm minis, but it tends to be the case that the high quality of a sculpt in smaller scales can help give them the appearance of larger miniatures.

    • @terrylyn
      @terrylyn ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. They weren’t for any particular rules just what I felt looked right. Possibly BKC or Panzer by GMT ported to miniatures. I don’t know the sizes off hand but I’ll check and write them up.
