All that pet wood!! 😍 I’ve never seen any in my adventures searching in NE OH/NW PA. Are you still willing to share some of your rocks if we pay for shipping? I’d love to add a Montana Treasure Agate or nice piece of pet wood to my collection. 🙏♥️
Enjoyed the beautiful day and float down the river. Fun to see the agates and agatized petrified wood. What do you do with your finds? Do you cut and polish?
Billings area was my childhood home. Got agate fever from an uncle who hunted along the Yellowstone many yrs ago. (I'm sure he left behind some beautiful agates for you to find!) Most of my childhood rock hunting was along the Boulder River, but don't remember finding a single agate. I live far from beautiful Montana now, but enjoy your videos and the names of familiar places. Thank you for taking us along on your agate hunts.
CONGRATULATIONS young man!!!! I was to get my degree in medicine MANY years ago but then decided I wanted a large family which has been VERY rewarding! I have continued doing medical research for the the last 40 years and I love it! I'm also a mixed media artist and an avid rock hound owning my own business (small mom and pop) for almost 30 years now....I'm blessed to have found the time for everything I love in life and that includes all my grandchildren! Hope you are blessed in many ways as well going forward! : )
Looks like another beautiful day on the river! Sometimes our eyes just aren’t seeing what is there. Then there are time we can’t even take a step without finding something else.
Great finds! Love ALL of your finds! And yes when have access to lots of water makes forbetter viewing! I have ADHD when it comes to rockhounding and I can go back over some places AND still some pretties! Thank you for sharing and stay safe! Congratulations on your graduation, best wishes on the job hunt!
Well if ya can't be out there enjoyin' the hunt, next best thing is enjoyin' the hunt with you while sippin' my sunday mornin' coffee haha. Some beautiful finds once again. Glad all is well with Alex, good luck job huntin'. ☕
We were at Yellowstone national park last week and I spent a long time walking the shoreline at lake Yellowstone. There were soooooo many agates!!! I have no clue what I’m looking at but it’s so pretty! I like that you educate your viewers with “what’s what”. Thanks!
I love your videos. I thought I would thank some of my favourite TH-camrs. I'm an armchair rockhound. I can't actually go myself because a stroke has left me partially disabled and affected my balance, but I do enjoy it vicariously through you and others.
Paul, I am so glad that you get to come along for my hunts. Thanks for the kind words and please take care of yourself, and thanks for supporting the channel.
Wow, just stumbled across your website. I’m watching you walk down the river and I can here the excitement in your voice. I know exactly how you feel. I get just as excited when I’m hounding which is just about every time I’m outside. I’m in northern Ohio now, pretty crappy for rock hounding unless you like clay and shale but I lived in Nor Cal for a long time and you can just about bend over and pick up semi-precious rocks anywhere you go. It was like a dream. I have literally 100’s of lbs of gorgeous specimens. Got a couple of tumblers and I really, really enjoy rock hounding. I can tell you do too. You’re a pro, I’m just a rookie. Glad I found ya.
Congrats on getting your certification! You had some really nice finds today and what a lovely outing it was. Thanks for sharing your time with us. I totally live vicariously through you, Theo, Kate, and the others, since I'm stuck at home. So thanks for keeping me more or less sane.
I'm going to be hard-pressed to NOT come to Montana for a future vacation just to rockhound this river. The petrified wood today was flippin' stellar! I'll be done with school myself in December and will be ever so glad to get to that point. It will be nice to just hole up over the winter, do some rockhounding at the beach between storms once the sand is pulled back out to sea and crochet my night away. The 24/7 grind of school and work is exhausting. Your videos are a bit of relaxation in a tumultuous time; it is very much appreciated. Congrats on being done, best wishes on your job hunt!
So glad you enjoy the videos. Keep up the good work with school! The grind is very much worth it in the end. And perhaps you'll have to come up to Montana at some point for a rock hunt. You wouldn't regret it.
I play disc golf! I used to be super competitive and won tons of tournaments! I was trying to stage a comeback before Covid. Glad you love it, too. We think it’s the best sport.
Agate Angler oh, wow, thanks for the reply! I’ve not been working during the pandemic so I’m definitely keeping my skills fresh and plan to hit the old lady circuit next season with a vengeance... or get my butt kicked by the young ladies, not a ton of choice what division to play in as a professional disc golfing female, so I take what I can get. Congrats on the PA stuff, too, talk about legit. I’m pretty new to your channel, it’s very sweet, you’re so good to your dog, I’m not surprised you like disc golf, too.
Gratz on graduating, that's awesome!!! I am a 3rd generation hunter of agate and fossilized wood, there are some places in the desert of southern WY that would blow your mind! So I can relate to and enjoy your videos, just makes me want to get out there even more now, lol.
Greetings from the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada.🍁 My b.f. and i were out all day rock-hounding, until we couldn't see anymore! 😄 There was a tropical storm here a little over a week ago , making the rock-hounding really good! We found a few agates today, lots of red jasper and bumblebee jasper 🐝 (the yellow type) and some pieces that really resemble your petrified wood! We love your videos! Thanks for all those links as well, i was subbed to a few of them already but i subbed to them all now, all great stuff! Take care! 🍁
Love the scenery, views of the river and the landscape of rocks, so cool! I would forget to eat out there! Thanks for sharing this awesome journey. What beautiful finds!
Wow, congratulations on your accomplishments! Spending time on your river full of treasures after all your hard work sounds like perfection. I was really taken by the colors and patterns in the banded chert. The agatized petrified wood comes in at a close second. Thank you for sharing your beautiful day.
Fantastic video! Congrats on passing your exams. Such a beautiful river, I love seeing the Petrified wood! The yellow Jasper is beautiful, i recently picked up a couple of chunks of storm jasper /agate. One from the beach and one from the river. Enjoy your free time. Hi from NZ
I’m so glad you are thriving In life I strive to be like you right now in my point in life and you are literally just being you much love brotha have a good one!!
Hi Alex - Great video! I recently subbed and really enjoy your channel. I am so jealous of all the agatized petrified wood you find 😊 it's difficult to find where I am but we do have some near the coast, but it's not agatized. Good luck job hunting!
I really like this, but can't help to complain the camera: is that possible to turn off the auto brightness? I think that's one example of technology trying to be smart, ending up being stupid.
Proud of your monumental accomplishments this year‼️ I’m sure you will find a phenomenal job & we already know you’ll be a fantastic PA❣️ Looking forward to you next video‼️
Congrats Alex! Thats great news. Yes, disc golf is much better than ball golf in my opinion!! MUCH BETTER You just couldnt get off that first gravel bar, it was definitely unpicked somehow. Loved that hunk of really agatized wood, that one was a beauty! Thanks for the awesome content!! I went rock hounding today and found many amazing agates too, so its nice to see someone else have a great day as well!
that one at 13:25 I believe is an agate, it looks like its chalcedony to me! I just had to comment on it as I watch, because that one is AMAZING! it kinda looks like a weird treasure state agate.
Congrats on grad from PA school. I live in TN and have been a PA for over 35 yrs. My son lives in Bozeman. Looking forward to coming out next year and doing some exploring on the Yellowstone. Thanks for the videos.
Congratulations on finishing school! The river looks so peacefully beautiful! What a wonderful place to go rockhounding. I'm envious of your abundance of petrified wood. I have yet to find any on my hunts, here, in Nova Scotia. Love watching your videos! Keep 'em coming!
Congratulations Alex on passing your boards! Good luck in your future endeavors. Always come back to the river....and us. Of course loved the find of the day, but also the venturian...subtly beautiful. Thank you.

Thank you Alex for an amazing hunt, congratulations on passing your boards. You like frothing, I have not tried it yet but am excited to loving golf and frisbee being able to combine them is awesome. My favorite rocks that you find are the banded agates so beautiful, but I really love them all.

New subbie, great treasures in Montana who knew? The adventurine is amazing, the thing you didn't mention is what your finds are worth and what do you do with them? Congratulations on passing your exams, I'm sure any company will be lucky to have you. God bless you, be safe, stay safe!
Welcome aboard! Most of the finds are really not worth much on their own. Of course, worked into jewelry they might be valuable. I save my finds in the garage and work on them for tumbling or cutting and polishing. There are some videos on my channel that cover that process.
Come on people hit that subscribe button! He makes great videos he keeps us entertained and takes us along for the hunt! I live in southern Oregon and we have wonderful rocks! But yours are so much nicer and and so much more consistent thank you for sharing...
I hope none of you rockhounders have suffered any hardships because of the flooding along the Yellowstone. The news has painted a rather bleak condition of the situation. I pray all of you are safe. Be safe. Love you all.

Just got back from a trip out west. Found myself looking down a little too much. Great video%! Congrats on finishing your schooling. Good luck on finding the job of your dreams.
I know I'm a little late to the party but congratulations on passing the board exam!!! I'm currently an RN and hoping to go back for either NP or PA myself! Love your videos by the way. I'm in Colorado and we don't have a lot of agates (TONS of jasper though).

Man! Wanted to go agate hunting on Yellowstone today because of your videos. I got too distracted doing other things. Hopefully next weekend is beautiful too.
Sounds like we've been into it for a similar amount of time. We do have some cool courses in Montana, just a pity that the nice weather season is so short.
Congratulations on your accomplishments! I love all of the rocks you find. The petrified wood and Jasper are my favorite. Have you watched Montana Rock Mom? She has nice finds too. Thanks for sharing.🙂🌴
Thanks so much for watching! Let me know what was your favorite find from the trip. Hope you had a great weekend.
kinda gotta go with your big agate, but that banded chert(?) was sweet, an that pet wood at 17: 14 was mighty purdy...🤷♂️😁

Where's kip? My favorite was agatized peterified wood.. The river is so calming and the bald eage was icing on the cake.
Kip doesn't quite fit in the kayak, so he stayed at home for this one. So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
Forsyth , Montana has lots of big nodules with crystals inside if ever you are in the area . Great video it must be nice to take kayak to reach areas you can’t normally you found some real beauties.
Man! Wanted to go agate hunting on Yellowstone today because of your videos. I got too distracted doing other things. Hopefully next weekend is beautiful too.
I love disc golf ❤ been into it several months now. Wish I could play some courses out there 😍
Sounds like we've been into it for a similar amount of time. We do have some cool courses in Montana, just a pity that the nice weather season is so short.
Always love your adventures!
Thanks Anita!
You should try between Glendive and Miles City. Not many hunters here anymore, but tons of agates around.
Beautiful view! From Brazil!
