Water is essentially everywhere in our world, and the average human is composed of between 55 and 60% water. So what role does water play in our bodies, and how much do we actually need to drink to stay healthy? Mia Nacamulli details the health benefits of hydration.

My bestfriend didn't drink water for two days straight and then she got a kidney infection and then she was diagnosed with viral encephalitis which is practically the inflammation of brain, which is horribly devastating. Luckily she got the right treatment on time, so she is finally getting better day by day.

I wasn't really consistent on drinking enough water for a few months now. I mostly drink half or less a glass of water in a day. I think it's the fact that I hated the feeling of being bloated or full, until it became a routine. Oh boy did it backfired. I had a fatigue, it took me a long time to observe my routine and know the roots of the fatigue. I started feeling tired day till night even tho I just woke up. I became passive. I had cognitive impairment and my mood was overall gloomy. I thought it was the lack of sleep or because my eyes were blurry. Thanks to this video, it made me realize dehydration was the root all along. I figured how less I drink water. Now, I'll try to fix it. Thank you Ted!

Right. It's the second important substance after the air. Form my experience of workout and learning, dehydration is truly devastating. Physical perfomance decreases to less than half after 3 days of poor drinking. Laziness appears from lack of energy. The brain can't concentrate and do something significant. I begin to feel skin pain, often increase in body temperature. When I workout, I feel that I my muscles can do more, but I just feel bad/tired and can't go on. The book "Your body's many cries for water" helped me to cure all these symptoms, like, totally with the help of simple water.

I drink water around once a month. I drink one 8oz pop a day and a maybe a 8 or 16 oz tea. That’s about it. I often try forcing water but I always fail. It’ll last for a day or two and that’s it. When i was marathon training I drank a lot of water but only before and after running.

This video was very informative I found that 31% of the bones are water, and that lack of water causes the brain to contract. What impressed me was that drinking a lot of water at once could be a problem. Also, I was curious about the reason why the color of urine is dark when I drink less water, but this video told me. I also learned anew that I have a disease called moisture addiction. Thank you for making this video and I look forward to more informative videos.

I was suffering from moderate-severe chronic fatigue and had a lot of Drs appointments over 7 years trying to figure out why. Things got scary when I started having chest pains. I spent a year stuck in bed unable to move. Everything was a struggle, even simple things as brushing my teeth was a workout. No Dr could figure it out until I saw an NP for a completely unrelated issue. After she treated my problem and dismissed me, I accidentally bumped into her again in the hallway and she then casually remembered something that came up in my labs and said, “Oh, and by the way, you’re dehydrated, so drink up. I’ll see you on our follow up.” And I was like: “Oh. Ok.” I went home thinking I hadn’t realized that I no longer got thirsty anymore and I barely got in two glasses of water in a day. I made a plan to start drinking more not thinking much about it. As of 1 month of drinking 10 glasses a day, a lot of my fatigue has been lifting for the first time in 7 years. The chest pains was evidence that my cells were on their last straw and my body was shutting down. I came close to dying of dehydration.

Age and medication make a difference. My 86 year old grandma was extremely hyponatremic (low sodium) from being on Lisinopril. Her salt was so low she had to be hospitalized twice since she was close to having seizures. Turns out she didn't even need the medication, her blood pressure is actually better off of it, almost perfect in fact. Of course the doctors denied the medicine is what caused it, but it was only after her 2nd episode of ambulance/hospital/almost dying that I started to look up causes. I'd had a heart specialist do a complete workup on her and her heart was fine, so I took her off that medicine and the episodes stopped. I have to make sure she doesn't drink too much water because elderly people don't need as much as younger people and in her case could actually be dangerous.

I'm a smoker and I don't drink water mostly because of it. It's like smoking and drinking water just don't combine, in the other hand coffee is amazing. All my life I never drunk water, then I started to drink coffee and I loved it, then I become a smoker. For almost 11 years I just smoked and drunk coffee. Until my health started to backfired. I reduced coffee intake but I still smoke and not much water. Well it seems like my kidneys are just tired of it, I do need to change as soon as possible.

I am seen this now, I wish I could have seen it thanksgiving day! That day I had to be taken to the emergency room! Why? Dehydration and I was not paying attention. I got cramps in my left arm and I was about to faint. I called 911. When in the hospital, they said I was dehydrated. The thing is, I don’t get thirsty. But now I learned my lesson! My sling was very itchy at night time, my eyes were very dry, I did not know why! It was very scary. Thank you for sharing this valuable info.

I'm so happy this popped up in my recommendation. I'm 15 and almost everyday I never drink water. Due to medication I take, it tightens my stomach which lowers my appetite by a lot.
After watching this, I'm gonna consider trying to drink water *MORE OFTEN.* For example, I wake up, take like *three* sips, and thats all for the day. Until later in the night. I noticed that my typing has been off a bit, and watching this has convinced me that I *REALLY NEED TO START DRINKING MORE WATER.*
Edit: *I don't even drink Soda, that is mainly on rare occasions.* Milk with cereal, yes, but thats pretty much it. No other liquids.
Take care and stay safe to anyone who has read this. Also, bless the person who made this video, it is educational and foremost life changing in a way.
