'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' is indeed a classic. One of their early hits.
It was great to finally hear it live last year on the US tour.
That LA Forum show looked a lot like their epic staging in Japan, with a movable stage on stacked scissor lifts.
Also video screens wrapped around, and on top of the stage.
The Kami Band members for the concert in this video were the late great Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus on guitars.
BOH was on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
This was the third song of a five song encore with the live Kami Band.
Su-Metal's so-called death stare is actually the burning gaze of Alexander the Great, which seems to peer into your very soul. Queen Su has a couple other things in common with the mighty Macedonian conqueror. First, there is her self-avowed desire to conquer the world, albeit in her case through music. Then there is the story about a much earlier performance at Saitama Super Arena in 2008. Back then Su was the youngest member of a pop/idol trio called Keren Girl's. Having never played such a large venue before, the two older girls were naturally a bit nervous about it. Su on the other hand was so confident that she decided to take a nap before the show, and slept so soundly that someone had to go wake her. The first time I read this story it actually gave me a chill because there is an eerily similar story told about Alexander before the Battle of Gaugamela. It was then that I realized what is so special about Su-Metal. She possesses that intangible something that is the spark of greatness.

It's great to see someone who really gets it making their way through the catalogue. "Rondo of Nightmare" has got to be next, I think. The performance from the "Budokan Black Night" concert. Others will refer to it as the one with the "Mischiefs of God" intro, but the video with that title is no longer on TH-cam. Just look for one that's seven minutes long.

@@MadAng66 - There is so much attention to detail in their concerts. Every time they go to the piano part that sounds like Tchaivosky's 'Dance of Sugar Plum Faery' they go to blue light immediately and then back to red and white for the heavy parts.
Fun fact about Dance of the Sugar Plum Faery. It was written for the Glass Armonica which was a musical instrument invented by Ben Franklin based on the sound a wine glass makes when you rub the rim. It sounds really cool but it had some issues. Apparently it would hurt your fingers if you played too long and it wasn't very loud. I think there would be some money to be made if you could make a synthetic replacement for the fingers and obviously amplifying the sound is no problem now.

Great reaction man! I would do almost anything to see them live, it just looks like such an experience to be in that crowd. This is a song about a 15 year old girl going to her first heavy metal concert, and how she wants to cherish the experience because she knows it will never come again.
There is another version of this song that is remixed to have a dance beat, that is called Headbangeeeerrr (Night of 15 remix) that was performed at the concert for Su's 15th birthday a year before this show, and was played again to open this concert as well. If Su wants a dance party on her birthday, she gets one!

@@arttuviitaniemi7662 how was the crowd in Finland ? I've been at Wembley Arena myself, it's a great experience, but I prefer the smaller more 'intimate setting' shows. But you should definitely experience both !
@@autohmae Didnt really see much of the crowd but they were into it, after a few songs atleast. It was in culture house in Helsinki so it was really small show, just a thousand people, maybe two. I was quite close to the stage and it was awesome to see them so close but i really want to experience a stage show. All we got was the songs and dances, not even pyro or anything :(. But yeah, that may have been better tho, getting so close to them

Su-Metal is only 16 years old at this concert, her birthday was on December 20th the concert happened on December 21st, also Yuimetal and Moametal were only 14 years old.

Yeah.... We all get the sentiment: she's awesome. And, although she's a completely different person off-stage, both are awesome in their own way. She'll be 23, this December. And they'll have their 10th anniversary next month. Which means that they were quite young for most of that time. (Suzuka/"SU-METAL" had just turned 16, the day before this concert.) Keep that in mind. ;-)
This is one of my favorite performances, and one of my favorite songs too. So crazy man! Also, I loved the fact that you didn't stop the video until it ended. 9:10 i was lucky they had a concert when i was visiting Japan in January this year. Bought 2 resale tickets for both nights (2 nights, 2 concerts, totally different songs) and it was the highlight of my trip over there. The crowd in Japan is totally different (US concerts are mild). Babymetal concerts are like a 2 hour cardio class (their older fans had towels and water bottle prepped lol). The people out front pay attention to the girls but everyone from mid to back dances, sings along, head bangs, not really paying attention to the stage, they're there to party and the band is their DJ.

They're a rock band but they did that 1 metal song that's really good. Also Japanese. You'll like it. (all 5 members play their own instruments, and all of them are women, no dudes allowed lol)

I’ve gotten into punk, thrash & grunge, but strangely it was babymetal that made me dive deep into the metal genre.. Amazing group; would love to see them live in japan at one of these epic gigs!
The stare. The Samurai eye contact infamous stare. You love them? Impossible to do not so. We are in the middle of an invasion. Japan sent an armada, those girls are the frontline. And if it's not enough, the midline (LoveBites, BandMaid, Nemophila) composed by female asian supermodels rocking it out hard will do the job.
Don't be surprised if you hear from the haters, "they're not metal, she lipsyncs or they are a manufactured group by a bunch of suits". My favourites are Babymetal Death, Megitsune, Awadama Fever and Meta Taro. The last 2 don't get much air time.
You forgot to say that these accusations are all bullshit, a lame attempt to bring them down to a level that these haters can handle.

Nice Reaction!! In Japan, head banking is called "Hedoban". And the Japanese title of this song is also "Hedoban gyaaaaa". Gyaaaa is a scream, and that's exactly what SU is singing about.
It's a song about a 15 year old girl who buys a cheap train ticket to go to metal gigs in various places and dance around. It's a song about the momentary adolescence of a 15-year-old with no regrets.

And please, when you pause could you just rewind about 5 seconds, I think you miss so much if you miss the continuity.
They are gimmicky, that's undeniable and that isn't a bad thing (so are bands like Ghost and even Behemoth btw). A gimmick gets your attention, but then they have to do something to keep you and make you a fan, and Babymetal does it with pure quality and awesomeness.
Actually, most successful bands have a gimmick of some sort... It's just that when we say that a band is gimmicky, we usually mean that they have nothing else... they live on the power of their gimmick. But clearly, BABYMETAL has depth, it's only haters and metal elitists who refuse to see that, so they stick with their pejorative call that BAYETAL is nothing but a gimmick...
