    Another informative video. Tire pressure monitoring is vital for any RV owner. When we still had a fifth wheel we had no TPMS system and one of our tires was going flat and we had no clue the tire was defaulting. Luckily I saw the tire before it heated up and blew. Now with my Class A I would not drive the coach without a TPMS system. I recommend watching your earlier tire inflation video. I learned most of what I know about proper tire inflation from that video.

      I think if most folks study up on TPMS systems, they quickly come to the conclusion that they are a must have device. It then follows that you need to get YOUR rig weighed, loaded up like YOU will be traveling in it, so you know
      what pressure to inflate YOUR tires to. What "everyone else" is inflating THEIR tires to means essential nothing.

    Tech RV may have great videos, but your viewers know and trust your judgment, and the folks at Tech RV know that. Excellent video, Mark and Sue. The new TST-770 is an awesome upgrade. 👍🏾💙🤍❤️

      Thanks Raoul! We actually got this unit in July 2024. We started to use it in August, so we wanted to test it for a while before we published the video in November. Thanks for checking in!

    Bought that same unit, very accurate and put mine on the side windows so I could just glance at it. Put the repeater back in the chassis battery area. Love the ease of install and durability of the unit.

      I do have to admit it was brain dead easy to program and pair the sensors compared to my old EEZ RV unit!

    Nice overview. I definitely have adapted your habit of checking tire pressures two days before departure. I like having the time buffer to get it repaired/replaced.

      I think we are all on the same page about this! It's all about the Time Buffer!

      I guess if your rig is still under warranty it is worth trying to fix it. Once the warranty is gone, I see folks giving up on replacing the expensive internal tire units (batteries are not replaceable). They just get an aftermarket unit, and replace sensor batteries every year that you can get anywhere!

    Thanks for this review Mark! Awaiting delivery of my new TST770. I've been using a cheap unit I bought off Amazon when I first got my travel trailer and it is really hard to read, and very slow to connect to the sensors. Got a new truck recently, so also decided to update the TPMS as, like you, I consider it to be crucial when driving down the road in our truck/trailer rig.

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The TST770 seems slower to connect than my previous EEZ tire. My repeater is in the passenger rear chassis battery bay. I re-used the location and wiring from previous professional install. If I was doing it from scratch, I would have the repeater centrally located, facing down towards the pavement. On our towed Honda, I have actually started rolling before getting a signal on one tire. The movement wakes up the sensors. I always try to check tires with the TPMS unit the day before I roll as well.

      @4LowRocks หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OurJourneyInMyles Just FYI, on my cheap unit, I found that unscrewing the sensors to let out just a bit of air, then retightening just prior to departure would wake up those sensors (otherwise, it take 35 to 50 miles). I'm also concerned with where I might put the repeater in my truck but that's a problem yet to be resolved.

    The DeWalt 20 v tire inflation is an alternative for the Viair system that has been working for me. I've pumped tires to 100 psi. I really like the portability of the unit. Note, I only use the DeWalt when i need to make small adjustments less than 10 psi on RV tires.
    I’ve owned both DeWalt and Viair. I finally sold my Viair since my backup is the onboard air compressor.

      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because our front tires are inflated to 125/130 psi,..........our on board system would not do the trick. The compressor and diesel engine would be cycling and running forever. It would struggle to deliver 120psi at volume for a long time. Glad to hear your Dewalt setup is working for you!

    Well done.. some people do not understand the importance of monitoring tire pressures on both your Coach and Toad. You bring up important features that newer units have over older units. All electronics have a shelf life because it is always improving. These updated features may also have safety features in the units that were not available years ago…Safe travels my friends…l

    Doesn't your rig have an OE TPMS System and if so why install an aftermarket system? Great Review

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our Dutch Star is a 2014, and the OEM Valor Systems that are inside the tires now-a-days were NOT available back then. A fair amount of folks end up with issues with the OEM internal "fancy" systems that disday on the dashboard. Working to fix one of the units requires dismounting a tire!!!! Yikes!!! I guess if your rig is still under warranty it is worth trying to fix it. Once the warranty is gone, I see folks giving up on replacing the expensive internal tire units (batteries are not replaceable). They just get an aftermarket unit, and replace sensor batteries every year that you can get at Walgreens!

    Just finished my coffee! Was hoping you would talk about the inner rear tires. I have such a difficulty getting to the inner dual valve stem. Have tried extenders only to have them leak. What system have you employed on your rig? Will you guys be in Tampa for the 2025 RV show?

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes,...we are tentatively scheduled to go to the 2025 Florida RV Supershow. Our inside rear duals have valve extensions that are supported by rubber support donuts in the ROUND HOLES in our rims. The rims that are odd shaped "sort of oval" slots on other RVs have no rubber support donuts. I would be furious with a manufacturer that does have a plan for my inter duals to be able to be easily filled and monitored.

    Great video. I have the EEZ also and I’m getting errors. We have a 20 foot travel trailer. Would you recommend the TST 770 or 507 for us?

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OK,.....remember our EEZ Tire unit was 7 years old. Manual says batteries last 3 years,.........that is BOGUS. They absolutely do NOT. We replaced them every year to be mostly error free. You can try that first. If that fails, I would go with the TST 770 to have the large screen & normal easy to get batteries with the secure and bomb proof magnetic display unit connection. Good luck!

    All tires get balanced ? How does this change the balance.??

    • @OurJourneyInMyles
      @OurJourneyInMyles  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never heard anyone talk about that issue. Of course it does affect the balance, however minor. I guess you could request the final balance to be done with the cap sensors on the stems. I personally do not have that issue because I balance ALL the rotating equipment on each tire positions by having (6) Centramatic Wheel Balancers. We have them in the "Tire Safety Equipment" section of our Amazon Store. See www.amazon.com/shop/ourjourneyinmyles

    We have used TSTfor years now, never had a single false Alarm , not like Tire Minder,the booster is supposed to be mounted outside facing the roadway, this way the signal bounces of the pavement

      I have heard that is a good location as well. I was just too lazy to move the old location I had from the shop in Wisconsin that installed the first EEZ RV Tire booster unit.
