I want a switchback sooooooooo bad but I’m still on a Black Max II budget. 🤣. I found the Black Max II at a pawn shop for $100 about three weeks ago. Needs new string and cable but still a tac driver for being 17ish years old. I really want to go all out with it and make it a Purple Heart bow but I also just want to leave it original 😫.
I still have mine and love it, I see no reason to get a new bow right now because this thing does everything I have needed, I have never had a deer jump the string and it is a tack driver! Not a super speed bow but it’s plenty fast for whitetail.( however I’m getting 300 to 305fps)
I got the Switchback original not XT, its been sitting in the case for about 8-10 years. Had an injury and also got old, so don’t even know if i could pull that 70 lbs now. Had a new string about a year before i stopped shooting. Was wondering if I can lighten up the draw weight on this model and what other things that might need to be checked out with it sitting for so long strung up. I love that bow and took plenty of deer, hogs & thunder-chickens with it over the many years and I can’t bring myself to let it go. Too many good memories, would love to shoot it again. 😢
Great video. After replacing the string, aren't you supposed to check cam timing using two alignment holes? I have a Drenalin and I'm trying to learn about all various adjustments. I read about this but the author didn't give any details. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have a question . I was watching a video on tuning a Mathews bow and the first thing he did was check the axle to axle length and compared it to the specs . It was not in spec so he looked at the small hole that is in the cam . The string is suppose to be right in the middle of the hole . Once he twisted the string and made the axle to axle distance to specs the string lined up with the tiny hole on the cam . Why didn't you measure the axle to axle to make sure it was in specs and why didn't you show the string lining up with the hole in the cam ?
Is there any way to adjust the idler wheel lean without drawing the bow? I have a Matthew’s Creed XS and I’m learning to tune it. I just put the idler where it looked good when the bow was at rest but I’m unsure if that’s within spec. Otherwise it’s timed and perfectly in spec ATA
Since I found this channel I’ve been waiting for a switchback video! I haven’t been able to get rid of nock left tear on my xt and my local shop said some bows won’t tune perfect. Now I know it can actually shoot perfect! But how to get it there I’m still not sure 😂
Shoot me an email with your setup and I'll see if I can help. archeryshack@gmail.com. Occasionally I will twist the side of the yoke the nock is kicking a half twist at a time to correct weird tears.
I just bought a Mathews Switchback on eBay and I made the ultimate mistake forgot the draw length is not adjustable need to replace cam where can I find one? 29 right hand
I have a Mathews switchback xt. I’ve had it since 2006. I’ve killed countless deer with it. I love it but I know it needs tuning and new string and bust cable. Where are you located? I need to send you my bow. It needs some tlc.

One of the all time greatest bows made by Mathews. I had 2 of them over the years. Good video

Is there a fix for when your cable is rubbing on the cam at 3/4 draw?
Axcel and Bearings are fine but my bow keeps chewing through cable serving

Those arrows look a little short to me. No concern if you don't mind the possibility of a carbon fiber hole thru your thumb/1st finger area.
i have the same color pattern on my XT. that lime green and orange!!!
What's the lowest draw weight for the xt?
Great Bow! I just bought one after wanting one for years, and actually it is in great shape!
What's the reason these switchback arnt doing 318fps I've seen you crono a few and lucky to get 250fps
It's because of the short DL .
I have a string for my old mq32. Jeremy would you have a cable for that bow?
