At 13:06, I noticed one of the cable anchors is on backwards. Not sure if a total disassembly is really necessary, but to each his own. New strings and cables, cleaning and lubing the cam and wheel bushings, and cleaning out the cam tracks (rails) is good maintenance. I still own and shoot my older Mathews bows, (MQ1, and Ultra Max).
Picked one up. Followed all these steps. It’s great. A silent bow. I needed a new idler wheel as when I bumped the bow it buzzed. The new wheel fixed it.
Great video!! Thanks for your help. I just bought a Switchback XT, and need to clean it like this. This is a huge help. Can’t beat the old Switchback XT for a simple solid hunting bow!!
Got an outback two days ago. Started to clean it up. Then bam ! Switchback xt showed up. Grabbed t. A new cam for it also. Tore it down like this. It’s coming together. Can’t wait
I wish you would have put up the measurements on the bow , like brace and showed your center measurements on the rest , and show how it looked tuned up with the string and axles
I need to start doing this on my bow every year 😂 You may know this but the best maintenance after this deep clean is compressed air 👌🏼 It’s a lifesaver for dust and sand in Africa. In the US you can buy it in small cans at hardware stores but I’m sure an air compressor for your tires will work just as well.
Definitely if it new dust 👌🏻 these were all greasy and trapped the dirt in some of the parts. Those little cans are handy but nothing beats the pressure from a compressor 🤙🏻
I have a 2005 Switchback XT and in my opinion, it is the best compound bow Mathews ever produced. 18 years old and still shoots like a dream.

Very cool! Enjoy your videos immensely!!
Where’s the review video????
I have to do this to my switchback xt, reezen 6.5 and my mission venture. I'll wait for a rainy day.
Did you not put the old or new limb dampeners on it?
I definitely subscribed !
Thanks man!
Are you still planning to do a review?
I have found so many guys who have done a review on them, but if you want to know specifics, let me know 👊🏻
It would be cool to see how it stacks up to One Of Mathews newer models like the vxr or thev3.
Do the side by side with the v3
Where did you find replacements for the spring suppressors?
Your local bow shop has them
Love your videos man !!!!!!!! Great production I am a TH-cam as well !
I know somebody who thought their eyes were bad for a year and shot twice a week before they found a cobweb in they’re peep now they can see fine
I don’t think you’re stabilizer is long enough…probably needs to be at least 48” to be effective
Pointless to dismantle the bow to that extreme
