Its crazy how in 2001 i would wake up, turn my pc on, brew a pot of coffee, use the restroom, get some water, and come back to my computer for it to still be booting up and now we're complaining it takes 0.5s to get into our phones.
You're right, the progress is amazing. Though, that pixel fingerprint scanner is abysmally slow for 800 dollars. My mums 200 dollar phone's fingerprint scanner is way faster than that.
@@definingslawek4731 Yeah same, my dad has a Huawei with a physical scanner which is infinitely better than my note 20 ultra under screen fingerprint reader which doesn't work half the time lol. I miss the physical ones so much.
Having used it for a day, the 0.1 seconds (in my experience) it takes is not annoying, I was annoyed though by my iPhone unlocking instantly whenever I touched it by accident
If Google really wants to have his market share with Apple and Samsung they NEED TO SELL Pixel worldwide, not only in USA, Australia, Germany and etc but in others counties as well, that's ridiculous
@Joe well I think there's another thing about being talked about and it's about governments in order for Google to be in other countries they would have to allow Google to be another countries like China
In a time of huge global supply constraints for things like silicon this was not the year to expand availability, even though Google probably would have liked to. It'll come. Covid screwed a lot of things.
Pixels are the only Android phones which uses their camera capabalities in the third party apps via pixel core. That should be a big selling point but no one seems to focus on that
@@wildzi it's still worse than the main camera app but it's on par with iPhone cameras, in most apps that is. Apps like TikTok make the back camera look worse than 144p
@@Firstfalconfree pro tip: once in a while, take off the case and wipe down the entire phone and the inside of the case and the port/speaker areas with a lightly damp microfiber cloth. Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the inside and etch the glass of the phone. and if you drop it very hard one day on accident-the debris can act as tiny rocks and shatter it.
@@Johnnygga That’s really interesting, thank you. I clean my phones occasionally, but as a farmer, I’m pretty rough on them, so I should definitely do it more often.
I bought the pixel 6 after watching this, as for the price it just seemed like a no brainer. The biggest drawback seemed like the battery not being much better. I've been using the phone for a few weeks now and I'm completely mystified by the comments in this video. As an example I've just been using my phone (games / streaming) for over 2 hours on a train, with loads of apps open, Bluetooth location everything on, and it's barely made a dint in the battery. It's on 81% and wasn't full when I left. Thought this should be said as the review is super misleading
As an google pixel 6 pro owner since November, I have to say my biggest gripe with the phone has been battery. Because at least for me, the phone gets hot while using regular apps like twitter and the battery just gets drained pretty fast for me. Does not last me a day, shame.
@@gjorgigjorgiev1 Well, still not good honestly. Like, kinda bad if I'm being honest. Rn in holding my phone in my hands and dude it's so hot I've never had a phone get this hot before! So Yea, smooth as heck and takes good pics but gets very hot and the battery suffers for it.
Google is trying too hard to create a differentiating design that rivals the iPhone notch, which is an iconic look. Basically everything Apple makes becomes an instant iconic classic.
In France prices are so different cause of taxes. Pixel 6 Pro remains at 899€ However iPhone 13 Pro Max or S21 Ultra cost 1259€… So Pixel 6 Pro, on the Android side at least, is a way better deal in France than in the US !
I am a fairly poor tech nerd so I am usually a flagship or 2 behind those richer than me, just got my brand new Pixel 6 and I love it, huge upgrade from the 4a I had, incredible photography, great videos, plays games like diablo 4 and wild rift on max settings at 60 FPS, good battery life, beautiful screen, 5G and just an all round great device. Oh and for those looking for a phone to vlog with or film , edit and upload TH-cam videos, the pixel phones have optical and digital image stabilisation for insanely good videos, the mic is actually better than most and with 5g you can upload your your vids waaay faster. even the pixel 4a has an incredible camera for filming with fantastic image stabilisation. You can go for a run while filming with a pixel phone and it will very gently and subtly move up and down. While Google make phones I will never buy another brand.
Upgraded this year from my One Plus 5, it started having call issues so after 5 years it was more than deserved. Got it insanely cheap, and I'm impressed with the phone's performance, and luckily the Fingerprint Sensor hasn't given me issues yet, and that's with a glass screen protector, main reason I got the phone was for Camera, and wow, it is amazing, especially for the price.
@@shameermalik5540 No bugs to report yet, nor signal issues. And that's taking into account I live in a Rural area, were there spots were signal barely comes through, and haven't had any issues yet. I think iOS have some Shazam integration that tells you what song it is in the background but yea you have to manually switch it on from the control center. It’s not automatic
Now Playing is an amazing feature. I just switched to an iPhone after using Pixels for the past 4 years and I really miss Now Playing, Shazam on the iPhone just doesn't compare
When I was on deployment, without internet for months, my pixel picked up a song someone was playing in the shower. Which makes me wonder how much space is used to recognize songs offline. And what the criteria for that is. Do they have recognition files for songs that are popular at the time? I was kind of creeped out tbh, though I still love the feature.
@@peepeezza They have a small set of songs that they can recognize offline, its maybe 20000, I'm not entirely sure, and it doesn't take up much storage at all. And of course the list is updated regularly to include new popular songs.
I am new to your reviews and I am liking them a lot. The description you gave of the real strengths to the Tensor is one of the best I have seen, and you do understand about photography and make pertinent comparisons, which is not too common with other reviewers and reviews sites.Your list of drawbacks is also very good, and these are things which will matter in actual use. Particularly the battery life, if there is anything keeping me from getting the Pixel 6 is that. If I may add a few problems which are not often mentioned but can be a deal breaker for some: 1) Google deliberately prevents their phones, including the Pixel 6, to stream video and audio to HDMI via a dongle. This is because they want users to use their chromecast instead. But this is limiting. Latency over chromecast (wifi essentially) is high. So one cannot for instance run a steam link on the phone to stream games to a projector over LAN, because latency will cause problems. Similarly, someone simply wanting to display a presentation or other material via hdmi will be unable to. Admittedly not a lot of people will need that. But if they do, finding up that their expensive tech marvel cannot do what a few hundreds bucks phone can, and knowing that it is a deliberate choice from Google.. Well, it leaves a bit of bitter aftertaste. 2) Google implementation of audio streaming prevents some dongles and devices to receive audio. For instance your average wired phone adapter on amazon or similar will not work with this Pixel. It is possible to find compatible adapters and they are not too expensive. But the problem will affect high end DAC too, external audio interfaces which musicians might like to use on the go, and similar. Again, not necessarily a common scenario, but finding out that your high tech phone is designed so to prevent you from doing these basic things which any cheap handset can do.. It does not feel so good.
As somebody who has dabbled in photography since the days of film, $300 seems pretty reasonable for a piece of telephoto glass. That said, my Nikon still does a lot of stuff Pixel can't. Other side: Nikon can't call 911 when I fall off that ledge.
I also think the 300 is justified for the telephoto, more ram, higher rez screen with a faster refresh rate and bigger battery. I use my Sony a7iii everyday, but it still amazes me what night sight can do and o often shoot with my phone in low light situations even if I have my mirrorless camera because it's easy to produce an image that I'm happy with. That said, I can't wait for that computational photography to come to bigger cameras at least for handheld low light photos.
Even though photos may look a tad too tonemapped sometimes, I bet in the blind photo comparison, average person will pick those vs flat realistic shots
I 100% prefer Pixel shots. I prefer to be able to see more and have the possibility to darken the shadows and what not in editing software than to not be able to see stuff and have no possibility of lightening to see more later on. Pixel gives more options, even if not completely realistic to real life.
Not really a fan of the overly HDR pictures. My Oneplus 9 does the same in some situation. IMO you gotta keep it tastefull. A good HDR image is where you barely see it. Bring out the shadows when needed but keep them black, not grey. Slight clipping in the higlights isn't the end of the world either. Wish they would allow the possibility to set the HDR level.
Of course. People constantly lie to themselves about what they say they prefer vs what they really naturally prefer. So much BS pretentiousness out there these days.
@@jijoaugustian9691 How do you know it’s going to be a 10 lol. The software update might not even do anything, and there might not even be one for the camera to begin with. Speculation is just speculation until there are actual results.
Most companies do that. Even here in India and iPhone 13 pro not pro max but pro cost 1500 USD. It's insane. And I am pretty sure when then bring Pixel 6 and 6 pro to India. Both will cost 800 and 1200 respectively. And then when they don't sell much phones here they blame customer.

@GhostRider i think it needs software updates, since they had so much new heardware to compile this year, they couldn't optimise it well enough. Updates would improve things i guess. But it was still good in battery tests, much better than what he claims, so i guess either his battery usage is super intensive or it's just consistency issue from software.
@@troytucker2573 it seems fine. It's no moto g power or anything. Will need to be charged after a day of normal use. But charges fast if you need a top off. Pretty standard.

Pixel 6 pro here. I managed to get a big improvement with the battery by going app by app and selecting Restricted battery use on every app that I don't need to have any real time notifications from. Example: I don't care about Twitter notifications, so I don't need it working in the background. All the games too, as soon as I stop using them, I don't want or need them in the background.
Can I just say that I think those photos look great? If that's what google's processing thinks I want my photos to look like, well, it's right. This is, as always, an absolutely wonderful review.
I can't believe there is not some slider in the camera settings where you can chose your black point. A photo in summertime and only grey in the darkest shade looks like CGI.... I want to be able to chose how much it is HDR'ing.

I realize that I'm weighing in a bit late here but I caught a glimpse of this video and after about 9 months of owning this phone, I have to say that it's still impresses me daily. First of all that speech to text is unparalleled, as far as I know. You are certainly right that the Tensor isn't about super high-end gaming and more about Google innovation. To me it's a rip off playing action games anyway on phones. I'll wait till I get home to play FPS games where I can truly feel engaged. Or get up portable console. This phone is all about productivity over entertainment for me. And this is truly a very tasteful review and I give you kudos for it!
Everything you said in your comment is very accurate and true. I too am very impressed by this smartphone, but the only thing I would've changed is the curved edges, not a fan of the edge screen but do prefer bigger and sharper displays so that's why I still decided to purchase the Google Pixel 6 Pro over the regular Pixel 6.
@Joe I mean the whole back is glass, I had to case my 3 XL too for the same reason, idk but seems kinda weird to have something so expensive that people easily drop so slippery, almost like they want that to happen.
I have a 2 XL and got a case because it was kinda slick despite being metal, and it just felt too thin in my hand... 100% getting a case for the Pro as well.
Gotta say i thoroughly enjoyed this review. It’s by far the best one I’ve seen. Everyone making these so called Pixel 6/6 Pro reviews spend 90% of the video talking about the camera and that 10% they’ll just read the specs. You really went into depth of how it functions battery life etc. Great review I’ll be scooping mine up tomorrow and see how much i like it.
It’s also to give a more complete review, you can never get the full experience after 1 day or 1 week of use. The first impression videos are what other youtubers would likely call a full review.
I wish he hadn't because he touched on the pain points I had and would have passed if I saw this video first. I kept waiting for Marques, so relied on the hype boys reports- mistake for me :) Mine is in the mail back to sender.
@@infin8one better to wait after a new product releases, I usually buy last year's flagship on black Friday deals. I got my brand new pixel 3 for 250 bucks just one year after release. This year I might go for the pixel 5.
Marques' experience with the battery life is different from my own. Today I used my P6 Pro to watch about 2 hours of TikTok, about 2 hours of Spotify, and some TH-cam videos, along with standard checking email, text messages, etc. It's almost 11 PM and my battery life is at 45% without charging in the middle of the day. Gaming probably draws more power, but I haven't used my P6 Pro for that yet.
I think the pixel 6s capability to condense high contrast image without blowing the image out is amazing, it looks weird on some pictures causing the over the top HDR effect but we're talking about information retention here, a blown out image looks more natural but it has a less fine color gradient to work with, the same effect can be achieved fairly easily in post production since the look is essentially replicating information loss. (Just mess with the contrast and blacks and whites)
That's true, but I think if you don't want to edit them a lot, like most phone users don't do I'd assume, it's better to have less of an HDR look and keep it more, while if you plan to edit them extensively, it's better to shoot in RAW anyways.
you're right. I once heard that google was hesitant to change their lenses because their ML was built on those lenses and changing them would be like starting all over again. but with much improved sensors i know for a fact that after they retrain their software the improvements will come fast, probably in pixel 7
It will. I remember when I got Pixel 2 XL at the beginning it was mediocre, still good photos, but not a ton different from competitors. However, in a couple of updates photos got to the best quality that you can get.

In an ideal world, I'd love to be able to quickly swap between the two because sometimes a black sky is more aesthetic. I think we'll see how the Pixel 6 Pro ages in its screen on time as Google steadily releases updates and optimization on its first in-house designed silicon. I'm very confident Google is working towards improving some of pixel's camera output. They got the hardware now and all they need is some improvements to processing, which they have already excelled in the past. My quick take: the biggest issue with Pixel 6 is the camera processing problems & battery. However, there is 0 chance that Google doesn't drastically improve the camera software via updates as they have always done. I also wonder if the Tensor battery problems could be drastically fixed via a software update. If so, than the Pixel 6 might really be an amazing phone in a few months.
Was keen to keep my Pixel 4, but it died suddenly this week. Pixel 5s are all gone, so I decided to bite the bullet and jump in. 100% agree on the camera. I'm not a big photo snob, but even I thought some of the photos look weirdly processed. Time will tell how Google updates the phone. So far I will say the battery is miles better than my Pixel 4, which I already thought had a pretty decent battery.
Buy the phone for what it is today, not what it could potentially be. Google has 0 Incentive to update anything on these phones. They'll do it if they feel like it, but don't count on it

Yep, typically it's "almost great", or "almost perfect", which to me means almost as good as the hype. But using the word incredible seems more in-line with "expectation shattering".
Somethings I really dislike about Android 12 is the circle icons and also the lack of of the Vibration icon when your phone is set to vibrate only. I've also noticed a few things now require two taps rather than one, eg the WiFi off icon and changing profile icons.
Always look forward to the MKBHD take on new phones and other tech. He is always very clear in explaining features and the tech behind it. I am surprised no reviewer has mentioned the poor video calling quality of this phone. I have the Pixel 6 Pro, and WhatsApp video calling is horrible. Just like the previous commenter, the viewfinder is very noisy in low light - video calling with WhatsApp is just unacceptable (very zoomed in a faded out). There are hundreds of users just like me with same issue and google keep passing the blame to the app developer. Even Google's own Duo app has the issue with a lot of noise. Coming from a Pixel 3XL, this feels like a downgrade. There are some articles online suggesting a fix with the December update, which now has been halted till late January. I don't think I can wait that long, since I will miss my return period.... Always been a fan of the Pixel brand, but this experience has changed my stand. I must add that the phone does produce beautiful pics just like the previous Pixel lines, just don't expect to do live events with the selfie camera
I've been a fan of the Pixel for a while, getting the first Pixel just after my iPhone 5 died. I'm really hoping their software can catch up; on paper, this looks to be a really good option for an upgrade. Otherwise, I'll stick with my Pixel 3xl. - Perry
He didn't talk about the audio about the phones, that was something I wanted to learn more about. Other than that, I loved the review!!! I just ordered my pixel 6!!! I'm exited (:
I can tell you that the speakers are outstanding. They are loud, rich and clear. Lags a bit bass, but man they are impressive. Especially when listening to music
@@FraggyOriginal I don't know how the iphone sound but I may be able to compare them later when I'm at work. A coworker has the iphone 13 pro. And by the way I own the pixel 6. I heard the 6 pro does sound a tiny bit better than the regular 6
I'm a Pixel fan. But my fanness came with front facing stereo speakers. Face it. When you use any phone, where are your fingers? Your palms? Right over the speakers, on most phones. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The camera. But what about the phone? What about the game play? What about watching videos? You want the sound aiming at you. But only Sony and some gamer phones take that into consideration. I'm still using my 3XL. And if battery life is so yuck, on the 6 pro, and no front facing stereo speakers? I'll hang. The goods don't outweigh the cons. Thanks Marquis 👍
Watching other reviews before this makes this one better, MKBHD covers almost everything about a phone/gadget than any other reviewers, consistently. Hats off!
Its amazing to see Google pull something like this together finally. Appreciate your balanced review and the focus you bring about "is this something someone will use".
@Joe yeah I agree and the carriers also know that it's Apple and Samsung that are going to drive account switch on promotions - and that they need to stock for. You're seeing that with some of the carrier availability right now T-Mobile for example is only carrying 128 GB skus. That's a combination of the supply chain woes but also carriers not really being willing to take the risk. I'm sure Google said they had it right this time. Really, we do. But the carriers have been burned by that before - the 5 and 5a were stinkers.
@Joe Pixel Watch? You know there are watches using WearOS right? And you know who else uses WearOS for their watches? Samsung, except it'll only work on their phones unless you install a shit ton of Samsung bloatware, trying to wall-garden their stuff as much as possible, ala Apple. Also, headphones aren't part of an ecosystem, there's nothing about Pixel Buds that you'll miss using them with another phone. But do you know who else cripples their stuff when used on other phones? (Apart from Apple obviously) Samsung with all their headphones, using inferior, proprietary codecs only available in their phones. They don't even use Google's fast pair to save a buck. And don't even get me started on assistants and smart home stuff, Google with Google Home simply has the best ecosystem for that
I have to say I was a bit apprehensive when getting the pixel 6. I was to late for the 6 pro so had to settle with the lesser.model. I'm really impressed with the 6. I use s21 ultra as well and can't notice any difference in the screen quality. The pixel is faster and smoother as well. It does have bigger borders than I'm used to but you get used to it. And on another plus the screen is flat. I really recommend this device and don't think a lot of people will suffer getting the 6 over the 6 pro. The 90hz screen isn't any slower than my s22 ultras 120hz screen as far as I can tell. I really like this phone.
I'm betting on Google's just having to retrain the algorithm for the whole new sensor, they perfected the old sensor but this new one has ALOT OF POTENTIAL. If they just allowed full 50mp shots and a few camera updates will make this the 10/10 champ, it's all software issues. It's trying to over sharpen prob because it's the old Algo for the old softer sensor.
But why would they release a phone before they’ve even perfected the software? I think it’s wishful thinking to think that they haven’t already spent a TON of man hours trying to perfect the software and that what is released is essentially a beta. Some slight increases might come but it’s not going to improve loads. But at €650 it’s the best phone you can buy for sure (and with free Bose headphones?! It’s a craaaazy good deal). Can’t wait for mine to come.
For those looking to buy a P6, a year later of use I can say it’s been great. Android 13 has definitely improved the experience and it’s short comings. My downsides are: -Google Tensor Gaming Performance (G1 can’t compare to the latest chips). -Selfie camera could be better (which I hear the P7 has a better selfie camera). -Signal quality is really mediocre, the modem used is cumbersome (again, I hear the P7 fixed this) -Screen brightness is really meh. (Again again, P7 fixes this too). -Speakers could be louder Improvements: -Fingerprint scanner, it got drastically better 9 out of 10 times works perfect (but I think is that I learned how to do it properly) -Picture quality is fantastic -Android 13 experience and personalization, its just great to use and feels extra fresh (I’m coming from an iPhone) -Build Quality is chef’s kiss. It’s got a great price on Swappa, can’t really go wrong, but Id go for P7
Hi there. I’m new to pixels and thinking of getting a 6. I’m an iPhone 14 pro user, but have an extra free line, have a pretty nutty travel year ahead of me and wanted to have this as “backup” phone insurance since I’ll always be on the go. I know it won’t be anywhere close to my current phone, but that’s okay. I just hope I can tolerate the interface… I had a Samsung years ago, but it didn’t communicate well with my clients and I lost money. Soooo, sticking with iPhone, but I hear google is a bit better. Who knows. Lol Did you get it? Do you like it? I feel like as an emergency backup and extra phone I’ll be carrying this is the best deal. And if I don’t like it, I’ll trade it in. :)
@@kimberquirky That seems cool! Honestly the P7 sounds like it fixes a lot of the P6 shortcomings, but don't get me wrong the P6 is not bad at all, I just wouldn't more than $250 for it at this point. I understand where you are coming from, the 14 Pro is just way too premium compared to the P6. Just manage your expectations as to what you want from the P6, knowing that it isn't as premium as the 14 pro.
@@kimberquirky I've never owned or used any of the A series phone from Pixel but I wouldn't go for it. I definitely didn't want a budget phone and the P6 and P7 are that more premium and have better quality overall when compared to the A series. I guess at this point it depends on your budget. P7 is constantly being sold by google at $499 and you could find a P6 cheap on swappa, just make you buy it Mint or New.
It's honestly just really nice to see another pixel that's actually trying, I've been living with my 2xl just cause I can't bring myself to leave all the good features that Google just said, "nope, you thought" to. I'm so excited they're back and better than ever

Wow that's a big comment but I just bought myself a pixel 7 and waiting for it to come
Couldn't relate to this more , thinking of upgrading to pixel 7 later this year
Are you facing any bugs and modem/signal problems? And how much does the battery last for you?
Upgraded this year from my One Plus 5, it started having call issues so after 5 years it was more than deserved. Got it insanely cheap, and I'm impressed with the phone's performance, and luckily the Fingerprint Sensor hasn't given me issues yet, and that's with a glass screen protector, main reason I got the phone was for Camera, and wow, it is amazing, especially for the price.

7:03 The “Now Playing” feature is WAY cool, other manufacturers/apps need to integrate this, I would use it ALL.THE.TIME. 👏🏽
I think iOS have some Shazam integration that tells you what song it is in the background but yea you have to manually switch it on from the control center. It’s not automatic
Ahem, Auto Shazam feature in the Shazam app
If I may add a few problems which are not often mentioned but can be a deal breaker for some:
1) Google deliberately prevents their phones, including the Pixel 6, to stream video and audio to HDMI via a dongle.
In mother Russia the camera is falling into that ledge for its user…
But your Nikon must do that with multiple lense and setup. And I bet our DSLR can’t erase a person on the go.
Nice comment. The ending was funny.
Got into an accident recently and the police arrived shortly after because I didn't respond. Good feature honestly
Even though photos may look a tad too tonemapped sometimes, I bet in the blind photo comparison, average person will pick those vs flat realistic shots
Yeah, judging by Marques' blind camera tests, people tend to choose images that look like the ones made by these Pixels
I 100% prefer Pixel shots. I prefer to be able to see more and have the possibility to darken the shadows and what not in editing software than to not be able to see stuff and have no possibility of lightening to see more later on.
Pixel gives more options, even if not completely realistic to real life.
Speaking of blind-tests; I have to say that MKBHD's blind camera test is his best product.
So what Marques is saying is that you can get a 7/10 to 10/10 camera experience sans the zoom lens on a $600 phone. That's a great deal.
After software update it can become a 10/10 if it wants to
@@jijoaugustian9691 How do you know it’s going to be a 10 lol. The software update might not even do anything, and there might not even be one for the camera to begin with. Speculation is just speculation until there are actual results.

My 6 pro is too slippery to hold lol, case hopefully arrives today 🤞

@Joe I mean the whole back is glass, I had to case my 3 XL too for the same reason, idk but seems kinda weird to have something so expensive that people easily drop so slippery, almost like they want that to happen.
Same!!! Got the phone and I’m like Where TF is my case?!?!?! Lol. Ordered a cheap one on rush from Amazon to hold me over until my case gets here.

I think all the reviews that came out before today were subject to the embargo too so they weren't even allowed to cover anything except new features
It's so nice of Marques to release his reviews well after the embargo so other tech TH-cam channels have a fighting chance.

Gaming probably draws more power, but I haven't used my P6 Pro for that yet.
phew, its the one thing putting me off buying it refurbished.
2:49 my heart DROPPED when he launched the phone like that
I think the pixel 6s capability to condense high contrast image without blowing the image out is amazing, it looks weird on some pictures causing the over the top HDR effect but we're talking about information retention here, a blown out image looks more natural but it has a less fine color gradient to work with, the same effect can be achieved fairly easily in post production since the look is essentially replicating information loss. (Just mess with the contrast and blacks and whites)
That's true, but I think if you don't want to edit them a lot, like most phone users don't do I'd assume, it's better to have less of an HDR look and keep it more, while if you plan to edit them extensively, it's better to shoot in RAW anyways.

Exactly, whereas my S21+ still doesn't make photos look 'just right' in many cases.

@Joe What Samsung ecosystem
@Joe Samsung's ecosystem is a walled garden apple ripoff joke, just use Google's
@Joe It’s an imitation of Apple’s, except not well done
And don't even get me started on assistants and smart home stuff, Google with Google Home simply has the best ecosystem for that
The punctuation marks there when you're doing a voice message is a game changer.

And on another plus the screen is flat. I really recommend this device and don't think a lot of people will suffer getting the 6 over the 6 pro. The 90hz screen isn't any slower than my s22 ultras 120hz screen as far as I can tell. I really like this phone.
How is yours doing with bugs?

I'm betting on Google's just having to retrain the algorithm for the whole new sensor, they perfected the old sensor but this new one has ALOT OF POTENTIAL. If they just allowed full 50mp shots and a few camera updates will make this the 10/10 champ, it's all software issues.
It's trying to over sharpen prob because it's the old Algo for the old softer sensor.
Which means there's a chance thay can totally mess it up.
@@Rishi3404 it's Google, They won't. They've had 4 phones of perfected camera software, I'm sure they're capable enough to do it again.
@@R3dd_1247 they got it right the first time and never really had to upgrade it drastically after that bc their sensors remained the same.
Yeah I think you are right. They don't want to change too much at once.
For those looking to buy a P6, a year later of use I can say it’s been great.
Android 13 has definitely improved the experience and it’s short comings.
My downsides are:
-Google Tensor Gaming Performance (G1 can’t compare to the latest chips).
-Selfie camera could be better (which I hear the P7 has a better selfie camera).
-Signal quality is really mediocre, the modem used is cumbersome (again, I hear the P7 fixed this)
-Screen brightness is really meh. (Again again, P7 fixes this too).
-Speakers could be louder
Improvements:
-Fingerprint scanner, it got drastically better 9 out of 10 times works perfect (but I think is that I learned how to do it properly)
-Picture quality is fantastic
-Android 13 experience and personalization, its just great to use and feels extra fresh (I’m coming from an iPhone)
-Build Quality is chef’s kiss.
Who knows. Lol
Did you get it? Do you like it? I feel like as an emergency backup and extra phone I’ll be carrying this is the best deal. And if I don’t like it, I’ll trade it in. :)
My friend told me to get a 5a but that seems so old. You have me thinking about a 7! Thanks for your great comment!
I'm so excited they're back and better than ever
me, too. i heard this edition was 'getting back to what the 2 and 2xl were'. However, I wish it had ultra slo mo.
@@specfever2 pixel 2xl still has super camera .
@@elforensico78 yeah I'll probably get it... 😃
@@specfever2 hmmm pixel 6a?
Mt girl has her Pixel 2 and she is now moving on from that to this new Pixel. I just hope when she gets her hands on it she will enjoy it more than her expectations.
7:38 I held my Pixel 2 XL up to the speaker to see if it could keep up with the transcription. It did it exactly as it appeared on Marques' Pixel 6 Pro. Mine was even better because it picked up the mistake "Dramatically" and put in "Grammatically" just like it was supposed to :)
That picture of Marques and Mac is so perfect! Their expressions are amazing! So happy that was included
