I learned that OK is definitely a cycling state. I found plenty of infrastructure and many folks have reached out letting me know about their routes and love for your state and its cycling. Thank you for watching and for reaching out. I had a ball touring thru your state.

You are the best, Jay. A true bro. Im working at this whole YouTubing thing hoping I get somewhere and your encouragement means the world to me. Hello to you and your buds at BOB'S BIKES @ Birmingham Alabama. Miss my days in your state.
I live in Edmond. Sorry for the lack of infrastructure and shoulders along the roads. It makes for some challenging cycling. Glad you made it through safely!
Diego, you have once again inspired me and others on this incredible journey. Your choice of music was excellent. The videography was great as you gave us a look at the beauty of OKLAHOMA. Route 66! We're glad you made this episode safely.
Hello Verlin. Yeah the music choice was fun to figure out. I think it's a great episode and Im psyched you liked it. Oklahoma is a beautiful state that I think gets over looked. So is Arkansas. People who are from the states love living there for a reason. They also have a huge cycling culture and the infrastructure to go with it. I had hurdles when cruising thru there but I eventually caught on. Lots of folks from OKC have reached out and shown interest in my channel. Very cool. Thank you for watching.

Hey…I was thinking ( bad idea I know) You should make a video showing how rough it can really be. Ya know, the one where ALMOST everything just goes awry and where you STILL laugh it off. Hahaha ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love your comment, bro. About making videos about when it all goes hay wire, I might have to think about it but I believe I do that. Lots of times you see me get thrown all these hurdles in a day. I will work on it. I know what you are saying, I need to show more emotion about it. Thanks for watching.
Ahhh. The Round Barn at Acadia. I first saw that in 1977ish. It was in really bad shape then. You passed about 4 blocks from where I used to live in Edmond.
Hi Dave. Insane how many people have reached out about how close I rode past their homes while around OKC. Seems like there is a huge cycling culture around. Thanks for checking out the episode.
It's not easy ride without the shoulder in busy traffic. Easy to freak out when watching back too much but it takes only one driver who doesn't pay attention. Towns along the Route 66 look awesome. Flat tire is frustrating but it's just part of life on the road.👍
"Flat tires are part of life" talk about an analogy. You always seem to know how to word things properly, T. And, yes, shoulder-less roads are a bit spooky. Im mostly looking back on my rear view mirror and getting off the road when there is a chance of danger. Key is to avoid a confluence of incoming and behind traffic with you in it.
@@FlyscoutRyder yes, you don't want to get got into fork. That's what happened to me on my last trip. The car behind me sped up to pass me but miscalculated and if the other car wouldn't slammed the brakes then he had no chance to slow down anymore, it's scary.
@@FollowThomas That's a great time to bail. I don't show it much but in these shoulder-less roads I trend to bail out to the dirt when I see a confluence happening. Be safe out there, T.
I need to get to OKC to ride too. I know there’s some good trails around Lake Hefner and along the river near downtown. Another great video! Loving you riding through OK! One of these days, I want to ride along Route 66 in Oklahoma
I was surprised myself, about OK cycling, but I have learned about not having expectations when touring. Oklahoma has a legit cycling culture and the infrastructure to boot. You just gotta figure out the routes.
That's the right thing to do (getting off the road), either for safety or to not impede the flow of traffic. I would like a word with the genius that gave the ok to put rumble strips in the middle of a one foot shoulder. Never fought Oklahoma was so green in the middle of summer. Blah blah blah-40 😂 Now that's a desert southwest sunset! This one really felt like you were taking us along for the ride. Thank you!
Hey Mario. I really love this episode and I was all worried about how I would put it together. The blah blah blah piece would normally go to my blooper reels but I decided to leave it. I do a lot of that. The rumble strips, OMG ??? Just another hurdle I guess.
“The frontage road here on 66… goes over the… blah, blah, blah… yep!” That’s what diet drinks do to your brain, folks! 🤣 Enjoyed this episode… thanks for sharing!
Diet Soda is definitely not good but darn it I can't do sugary ones. blah blah blah moments are plenty. They are mostly saved for my blooper videos but I decided to keep this one in there, psyched you dug it. Thanks for your comment here and on my IG account. You are a bro.
I live along the Will Rogers Trail in Oklahoma City. Once you know where the cycling infrastructure is, you can get around most of the city on a bike. The signage is very poor, so visitors are left to their own devices.
Looks Like Fun. You should have just kept going around Lake Overholser and stayed the original two lane 1926 Route 66. It would have taking you back to the four lane Route 66 at the Yukon Parkway. Maybe next time.
This happens to me all the time where I post an episode and I hear from local riders of a better route I should have taken. I wish I had the knowledge before I ride thru places.
Hi ... I have a question pls. While you was taking off the tire using one of those tire-rim removers is it best to use stainless steel or the hard plastic ones? It was hard to tell which one you was using. Thanks a lot! Kind regards.
I'll chime in on this. It might depend on your rim material. With metal rims, I use Park metal tire levers (the hand area is coated in plastic). Having broken the yellow Pedro's levers before, I feel more secure with the durable metal ones on a tour. But if you have carbon rims, you may want to go the plastic route.
Hello Chandra. I use a plastic one. Not sure my rim edge would keep its coating if I used a medal one. You can pick these up at any bike shop. I tend to carry two in case one goes missing. Tire repair tools are a huge commodity to watch after so I pay attention to them. Thank you for watching.
@@FlyscoutRyder I think you’d enjoy it! It’s the longest pony truss bridge on Route 66 at nearly one mile long. When they reconstructed the bridge, the pony trusses became ornamental on a safer, modern bridge.
