    I started Crossfit many years ago and learned strict pull ups first, because there was no such thing as kipping. Greg and Lauren used the Gravitron machine and then a spotter. I was able to get 25 strict pull ups in my first Police and Fire Games Olympics in 2004 thanks to proper training. I have never been a big fan of the band and have started to pull athletes off the band, which some are almost physically addicted to. I have been having them do negatives or spotting them through the movement. Thank you, thank you for your technique videos which are clear and concise and always offer something for every ability level. Naomi

    Last week, I decided to start getting back into shape, but instead of lifting weights, I want to go with calisthenics. And because the buckles on my Woss suspension straps cause a lot of pain in some positions, I plan to buy a set of rings next month.
    I really appreciate your tutorial about learning correct technique.

    The best training for strict pull-ups is 3 sets of stop eating junk. Seriously, each pound of fat removed makes a big difference in being able to pull your body weight.

    hey there, great video. i have a question: you demonstrated an incline row on the bar....but really could you not just adjust your feet when doing a ring row to achieve the same effect? it looks very similar, what the benefit? do you recommend using any assistance like rubber bands? thanks

      @CFJaakarhu  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Denis Vasin Hey, the difference is stability. The bar is going to provide a stable consistent pulling implement while the rings are suspended from a pull-up bar and can move more.
      So it really depends on the athlete and where they are in the process of development.

    hello Jessica, from India :) really insightful tutorials there ! if you could add a tutorial on how to get kipping pulp's consistently/continuous , that would be great!! What happens to me is each time i get my chin above bar, i try to push myself away from the bar to get back to the same arch/hollow position for my 2nd rep but i end up falling down vertically and I have to do a new kip again!! So i end up spending more time which is not the purpose of kipping..same happens when i try to do my toe to bar.. Please help.

    Pull ups everyday ? For best results on any strength exercise give the body a rest window minimum every other day. Especially if your working the muscle to fatigue.

    Anyone commenting who does not do crossfit please stop comparing to your “workout”. Crossfit is not like going to a globo gym and performing strict pull-ups. It’s constantly varied movement. Gtfoh

    WTF HOW ARE YOU AN INSTRUCTOR!!! I thought it was a stereotype for crossfit to use kipping pullups but wtf seriously???!?!?! Please no one listen to her. You will not gain anything doing kipping pullups. I don't care if your goal is a thousand pullups you do every single one of those with PERFECT FORM!!! It doesn't matter how long it takes or if you need to come down and take a rest and go back again. You do everything with perfect form. Go check out THENX Chris Heria has taught me everything I need to know and I gained insane strength but I worked out 5-7x a week full body workout. I started off with this and it worked perfectly for my body. You also need to find what works for you because that won't necessarily work for everyone. Caliatheltics is also a great channel!! Please go to them they are professionals who know what the hell theyre talking about.

      I can’t agree more, I don’t work out that intensely but even I know that kipping pull ups don’t make any progress. Proper pull ups actually get you stronger and the best results (unless you’re just worried about your rep count for some weird reason)

      @Strength In Ethics I'll take the good parts in a New York minute. I just did Murph and it was awesome (on Memorial Day at a crossfit box). I did my pullups strict until I absolutely had to try to kip.
      I think if I did Cindy with strict pullups for overload with volume instead of time for a year, I can get a better time next year at Murph.

      Of course, Crossfit did not invent "Murph". Lt. Murphy invented "Murph", which he called Body Armor.
