  • Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is an uncommon but serious condition found in a small portion of regular, long-term cannabis users. CHS was only first formally described by researchers in 2004 and is still not widely known about. This syndrome typically presents as chronic gastrointestinal symptoms highlighted by intense bouts of vomiting and abdominal pain. These symptoms can be severe and can last for hours or days and frequently recur every couple of months. Cases of CHS are on the rise and it still isn’t clear why some heavy cannabis users get the syndrome, but others don't.
The Farmacy Cannabis Lecture Series is proud to host Dr. Codi Peterson, Pharm.D. M.S for a presentation on what researchers know about CHS and what you can do to treat and prevent it. Dr. Peterson is a practicing pharmacist, has a Master's degree in cannabis science, and the Chief Science Officer at The Cannigma, a fact-based cannabis education platform.

I have had CHS diagnosis after smoking weed every day for the past 25 years, mainly ultra-potent sativa strains (haze, amnesia, etc).
I have been in hospital numerous times, never ever getting the correct diagnosis. 😢
I was never motivated to quit smoking weed until I had the correct diagnosis.
Now I am clean for 14 days and I am convinced it is the only way forward FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
also, the synthetic variant of THC, being HHC gives the same syndrome. To my experience even worse.
Good luck for all the people being diagnosed with CHS.
Find pro help, go to self-help groups, do meditation for sleep improvement, and change your life for good.
It is the only way forward.

We’re called seekers and mental patients. We quit going to doctors and ER. WE ARE undiagnosed

Got chs after 45 years of using weed .No throwing up at all but gut pain for about 45 days till i fully recovered.
Gonna try and take 1 year off and then all i want is to take 1 hit every month or 2 to enjoy myself.
Thats a joint a year.i find it hard to believe this will ever bother me but we shall see.

Chs is so bad that if you get it 1 time, believe me you will quit smoking.
