Absolutely gorgeous! I love it when the shops and the city streets get all dressed up for the holidays! If you find more festive areas or perhaps an evening shoot with magnificent twinkle lights, I would love to see more of Edinburgh decked out in her Christmas best! That antique store had so many lovely things and it was displayed in such a nice way, where you could actually see the items! So many antique shops either have too much inventory and/or not enough floor space and it’s hard to appreciate the aesthetics or see the details of any individual item! No wonder you love shopping there! The Dome was magnificent in all its glory and definitely something to marvel, but I find more inspiration from your favorite interiors shop! Went to the library, then to the local organic shop for some chocolate...and finished at the thrift shop where I picked up a few saucers and small bowl for "next to nothing". I noticed when I got home that the lines on my forward were gone!! Shows that getting out and doing what feeds your soul - relaxes you.

My husband is in the military. He visited the country side for a while during a deployment to England. He told me it was beautiful. So different to the inner cities in the U.S. Lovely gardens and landscape. My mother's family is from Normandy and lived close to France all their lives. Thank you for the tour.

One of my best friends lives in Edinburgh (I live in Surrey) - I usually go up for a long weekend every year just before Christmas and the Dome is definitely a highlight! Due to things, I've had to rebook, and rebook - now hoping that I can get up in June. But you show Edinburgh at it's most beautiful and I am so glad I found your channel - thank you!
Better than any british documentaries on tv. What more could you ask for? the perfect modern english gentleman showing us around britain. i always rewatch Nottinghill because of the stores around his bookshop and i love how you show the products within the shops too, because remember, your audience reach is outside of Britain and what you take as ordinary everyday things to us is very quintessentially british and so very interesting to watch. I also love that furniture you featured in your video. What a treat! I actually thot this video is too short!! perhaps half an hour would be better to have longer sections of the shops etc.

Absolutely! Bookshops are where my family would gravitate to! We live on a farm west of Chicago and in St. Charles, IL there is a wonderful independent bookstore with a charming Cafe. It is called Town House Books. It is a favorite of ours!

Dear Nicolas, how many beautiful and endearing... how many wonderful memories your video has brought back to me ... it just warmed my heart reminding me of those stone paved streets, the gardens, the particular aroma that lingers in the city as winter settles in... i can breath in the wood of fire places already on and the fresh bread and cakes of little bakery shops in those stunningly narrow streets.... I recall the monument of Sir Walter Scott, a historical novelist, playwriter, historian and poet... i love poetry and there is a particular uniqueness to Scottish poetry if you love to indulge in... such a pleasure ❤ Have you ever walked the stone paved streets after the rain and seen the sunrays delicately stroke them as if a silver magical touch full of spark like diamonds?? I'd invite you to do so and allow yourself to be blown away to a place full of mesmerizing and mindblowing beauty in the delicate yet so powerful. @@NicolasFairford Thank you Nicolas, life is full of beauty even in the midst of the hardest times... all it needs is for us to be open to receive with all of who we are, to look at each day and moment like a wonderful treasure hunt adventure :) I love to take in the simplest of things in nature and just absorb them... think of the morning breeze in Spring and that in Autumn... they are different somehow but they both are playfully fresh as it strokes our skin or plays with our hair... the same happens with the sunlight at different times of the day, in each season... how wonderful to just breath in eyes closed and allow ourselves to be caressed by the delicate breeze and be softly kissed by the sun...how heart warming and joyful this experience is... and it is available to everyone. Just want to say that I'm still impressed that a young guy like you is so eloquent and sophisticated and appreciates all the wonders of life, that many take for granted. Ah Nicolas, you are just wonderful! I've been binge watching your videos - you are just what I needed! One of my best friends lives in Edinburgh (I live in Surrey) - I usually go up for a long weekend every year just before Christmas and the Dome is definitely a highlight! Due to things, I've had to rebook, and rebook - now hoping that I can get up in June. But you show Edinburgh at it's most beautiful and I am so glad I found your channel - thank you!

Better than any british documentaries on tv. What more could you ask for? the perfect modern english gentleman showing us around britain. i always rewatch Nottinghill because of the stores around his bookshop and i love how you show the products within the shops too, because remember, your audience reach is outside of Britain and what you take as ordinary everyday things to us is very quintessentially british and so very interesting to watch. I also love that furniture you featured in your video. What a treat! I actually thot this video is too short!! perhaps half an hour would be better to have longer sections of the shops etc.

This highlight tour was enchanting. My niece graduated from St Andrews, ( then, 2 masters at Oxford👍) so, this delightful city has taken my heart. Why not show us the train tour through the country? Don’t ever remember hearing anyone saying that the smell of books transports 💚

Absolutely! Bookshops are where my family would gravitate to! We live on a farm west of Chicago and in St. Charles, IL there is a wonderful independent bookstore with a charming Cafe. It is called Town House Books. It is a favorite of ours!
