Now that I'm getting back into subnautica I've decided to rewatch this series for the 3rd time. This is my favorite subnautica series. I love how you summarize hours of PDA entries to a 10 minute video.
I had this strange dream recently. I was Ryley Robinson, and there was this floating island. If I went too far out from the island, three Sea Dragons would emerge from the abyss and I would have to swim back into one of the underwater holes in the island before they got me. Then they would disappear back into the darkness and it was like they were never there
Theres 2 theories about the 3 sea dragons in the game the first one is that the 3 dragons could be siblings looking and calling out for their Mother which is the one found in the lost river and the other one is they are actually mates looking for each other their roars are also created from combining real sounds from a bull a elephant and a tiger which is pretty interesting
I literally just got and tiktok ad right after bacon said: "now many players would crap their pants upon hearing this sound:" *It literally made me wheeze*
From what I know, the Reaper leviathan is extinct in below zero, and seeing as Reapers are the Sea Dragons main food source, its safe to say they are now extinct as well. We have lost 2 out of the 4 original predictor leviathans. 'Tis a sad day.
They aren’t extinct, below zero takes place on a different part of the planet, saying reapers are extinct because they aren’t in below zero, is like saying cows are extinct because they aren’t in Antarctica.
here’s the most saddest thing you learn about the sea dragon, it’s actually a juvie, and the roars it makes is that of it calling it’s mother, which is the sea dragon skeleton, which is deceased, and also the other 2 may actually be mates which got separated from each other, that really is sad, when I read these theories in another video, I decided to be careful while scanning the poor thing, and I never thought of killing them, but instead taking pictures, but still imagine an adult sea dragon size would be...
the process of meeting one for me went: >enter lava zone >proceed to hear and see the sea dragon >immediately leave after gathering kyanite >return to safe shallows and grab gas pods >return to lava zone >attempt to kill sea dragon with gas pods, stasis rifle, repair tool, and prawnsuit >succeed >repeat process until no more sea dragon
the sea dragon is not that aggressive because when i first saw it did not do anything but attack fish it just left me alone but when i got close i got killed
im bout to start binging all your lore vids and just realised you still reply to comments in this video respect my guy have a nice day your vids make me so happy 😊
I'm fairly certain, with my experience in both alpha and full release with these, they used to be MUCH more aggressive in alpha rather than the more "You don't bother me, I don't bother you" in the full release. also let's not forget they swim straight through walls
I remember my first trip to the active lava zone, I had found the big hole in the inactive lava zone and squeezed the cyclops through the opening to get to that one large opening that’s right before the main lava chamber. The whole time I was like, “ok I don’t see it.... oh I can hear it... oh shit, I can see it... OH FUCK ITS COMING IN HERE!” It didn’t attack me though because I had on silent running, the shield generator, and a launched decoy. Everything was fine when I got to the base and did everything I needed to do, but then it came time to leave and the sea dragon was still in that small opening. Lol it nearly destroyed me.
These things are usually not too bad - as long as they stay out of your way :) but they can be real trouble if you encounter one in a more confined area....
Sea Dragons are honestly my least favorite leviathan. Seems the least creative in design compared to the ghost leviathan and the reaper. Wish they put more effort into an original design
Ur not supposed to use the drill arm for comabt. Thats a big missunderstood topic. It deals very little damage the best way to use the prawn suit for combat is using the default arm with the hook arm. And it will not take as long to kill the dragon.
Nah I killed a Sea Dragon with Grapple/Drill and it took me like 5 mins only, less time than Reaper since it doesn't move around as much so I had contact almost the entire time.
Kicked in the nuts It’s probably because a drill sounds like a very dangerous combat weapon. In real life a drill would serve someone pretty well in combat, so I don’t blame people for using it as a weapon. If I had the game I would probably do the same thing
but they're so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!
I won't forget my first interaction with the Sea Dragon. I had seen it before upon entering the inactive lava zone, but it hadn't noticed me. I exited the Cyclops in the Prawn Suit and made for the mountain in the center of the area. As I was traveling across the ground, I looked back to check and make sure I wasn't being followed, then looked back up front, looked up slightly, and it was just there, eyes locked me, looming closer and closer. My heart sank in my chest and it just insta-killed me.
Thing is there are two theories on why it’s aggressive and always roaring is because it’s trying calling to call its mother which obviously died in the lost river or the sea dragons misses the others because they are lost and can’t find each other so either why it’s still sad though
I was looking for the lava castle one time, and I kept hearing the big devil roaring above me, so I (absolutely terrified at this point) was constantly looking up to see where it was, and then some lava lizard bit the side of my prawn suit and nearly made my soul jump from my body.
Am I the only one who thinks that the sounds the Sea Dragon makes are so sad? They sound like they're in pain or like they don't want to hurt anyone. They just sound so sad.
Oh god, I remember when I encountered this being for the first time. I once was in the lava zone and heard an roar. I was like "hol up" then once I encountered this being I started running away yelling "you best run away if you know what's good for you like a nutritious daily breakfast." I thankfully got out of there-
An ad played right as he said "many players crapped their pants after hearing this sound" "Many players crapped their pants after hearing this sound: 'come on and slam, and welcome to the jam'"
but ooh, that thunderous roar 😳. so unsettling! the atmosphere of red hot lava and dark depth adds to the tense experience of going down there, and seeing a huge huge dragon prowling and roaring really makes your heart jump! it's admittedly quite cute in pictures, but turning around while playing in the game and seeing its HUGE from right behind you sounds creepy!
I think you described it perfectly :) I love how the dragon has this presence, as opposed to the other leviathans which makes you pause in awe for a bit before being eaten.
Knowing that below zero introduces the precursor basically responsible for the outbreak by stealing those eggs is so wild to me. Like we basically know exactly what happened but to see the face behind it and know his regrets is just. Wow.

As stated by the PDA they share a common ancestor, like humans and chimps.
TheEasierWay i see the similarity
I had this strange dream recently. I was Ryley Robinson, and there was this floating island. If I went too far out from the island, three Sea Dragons would emerge from the abyss and I would have to swim back into one of the underwater holes in the island before they got me. Then they would disappear back into the darkness and it was like they were never there
Sounds like quite the spooky dream :)
I'm dying. He got to the part where he said many have crapped their pants when they hear this sound and I got a raid shadow legends ad right then
Hahah fits perfectly :)
7:10 "Many players have crapped their pants to this sound" Cues up an ad for Mario on Switch
Perfect timing :)
Probably the most aggressive thing in the hole series. The second you are within eye sight,it immediately looks at you and charges at you full speed.
They are quite aggressive for sure :)
Alright somebody better admit who kept the rift open
It was dave
Newt
It was dave
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh it was bob jefferys
Blame John
Theres 2 theories about the 3 sea dragons in the game the first one is that the 3 dragons could be siblings looking and calling out for their Mother which is the one found in the lost river and the other one is they are actually mates looking for each other their roars are also created from combining real sounds from a bull a elephant and a tiger which is pretty interesting
Quite a sad story either way you slice it :)
omg i always thought they only had one giant eye and i thought they looked derpy as hell but now they look kinda scary
Well they still look kinda cute in my opinion :) now the reapers - those are the real scary ones.
That tip about the stasis rifle being able to stun large creatures was very helpful. Liked
Thank you :) glad I could help!
I literally just got and tiktok ad right after bacon said: "now many players would crap their pants upon hearing this sound:" *It literally made me wheeze*
Haha perfect :D
From what I know, the Reaper leviathan is extinct in below zero, and seeing as Reapers are the Sea Dragons main food source, its safe to say they are now extinct as well.
We have lost 2 out of the 4 original predictor leviathans. 'Tis a sad day.
Tis a sad day indeed :) ....even if reapers were quite scary!
They aren’t extinct, below zero takes place on a different part of the planet, saying reapers are extinct because they aren’t in below zero, is like saying cows are extinct because they aren’t in Antarctica.
Tyler Jester
I heard they where extinct by the time below zero takes place, but I could be wrong, that’s just what I heard a while back.
@@TheLastBacon oh we have our ways on getting to below zero
I thought I already made them go extinct, but screw it. the DOOM Eternal energy is in me!
Remember when you attacked these guys and they assended into the roof and into the sky
here’s the most saddest thing you learn about the sea dragon, it’s actually a juvie, and the roars it makes is that of it calling it’s mother, which is the sea dragon skeleton, which is deceased, and also the other 2 may actually be mates which got separated from each other, that really is sad, when I read these theories in another video, I decided to be careful while scanning the poor thing, and I never thought of killing them, but instead taking pictures, but still imagine an adult sea dragon size would be...
Definitely quite sad :(
@@TheLastBaconI know right man? :(
well maybe I am a monster...
I've watched almost all of the indigenous lifeform summary videos you've made and I can't believe you havent hit 10k yet
Thank you very much :) hope you enjoyed them!
the process of meeting one for me went:
>enter lava zone
>proceed to hear and see the sea dragon
>immediately leave after gathering kyanite
>return to safe shallows and grab gas pods
>return to lava zone
>attempt to kill sea dragon with gas pods, stasis rifle, repair tool, and prawnsuit
>succeed
>repeat process until no more sea dragon
You've made their whole species extinct :D
In my opinion, I find the Reaper laviathan to be the most aggressive and scariest. It's the fact that they patrol most of the playable area.
I definitely have to agree :)
Fun Fact: the roars the Sea Dragon makes is just them trying to find their mother. It’s actually heartbreaking…
That is a sad thought for sure :)
@@TheLastBacon I’m suprised you reply to comments even after 3 years.
the sea dragon is not that aggressive because when i first saw it did not do anything but attack fish it just left me alone but when i got close i got killed
im bout to start binging all your lore vids and just realised you still reply to comments in this video respect my guy have a nice day your vids make me so happy 😊
Thank you so much :) Best of luck with the binge!
@@TheLastBacon thx 😊
I like how it looks like it’s always smiling as if it was happy to be destroying the prawn suit you spent so much time making
It’s having a great time :)
I'm fairly certain, with my experience in both alpha and full release with these, they used to be MUCH more aggressive in alpha rather than the more "You don't bother me, I don't bother you" in the full release.
also let's not forget they swim straight through walls
True :) I also feel like they used to be more dangerous before - and their noclip hacks are also definitely worth mentioning!
Oh they were.
The Sea Dragon is my favourite creature in all of Subnautica. What’s YOUR favourite creature in Subnautica?
Probably the reaper :) just because of how creepy it is!
The Ghost Leviathan, It’s been my Favorite ever since I saw it in the Bone Fields concept art.
Sea dragon
Just recently started subnautica, i think the fish that hypnotize you are pretty cool, other than that stalkers and any leviatham
the ones I killed
That "who's the real monster now" part was a good touch. also who would want to kill them they are awesome and pretty easy to avoid
Definitely agree :) I did kinda feel bad for them when the PDA said they're nearing extinction.....
if it bleeds i will kill it
I feel bad for the reaper that accidentally stumbled down that deep...
Yep, several in fact :)
@@TheLastBacon lol
Yes they are agressive but they're Soo cuuute
5:31 that warped got yeet-ed
Haha yep :) poor guy.
JakeTheCake yote*
Sea Dragons are honestly my least favorite leviathan. Seems the least creative in design compared to the ghost leviathan and the reaper. Wish they put more effort into an original design
I agree, too bad - especially with a name like the ''Sea Dragon'' - you'd expect something terrifying and epic :)
In my opinion the sea dragon is the sea emperor’s annoying brother
Hmm, this thing's got hands so I think it would have been interesting if it had dolphin level intelligence and started making tools
Your still responding to comments what a legend
I sure am! :D
I love these lore videos, i watch them over and over again every couple months
Yay thank you kindly :)
Ur not supposed to use the drill arm for comabt. Thats a big missunderstood topic. It deals very little damage the best way to use the prawn suit for combat is using the default arm with the hook arm. And it will not take as long to kill the dragon.
That's definitely one way to go about it :) the drill arm is useful for people who have trouble hitting it with other attacks.
Nah I killed a Sea Dragon with Grapple/Drill and it took me like 5 mins only, less time than Reaper since it doesn't move around as much so I had contact almost the entire time.
@@FiNiTe_weeb dude drill sucks. Even when u used it on a pepper it takes a few hits to kill it. And with default is 1.
Kicked in the nuts
It’s probably because a drill sounds like a very dangerous combat weapon. In real life a drill would serve someone pretty well in combat, so I don’t blame people for using it as a weapon. If I had the game I would probably do the same thing
Sea dragon mom: who wants some boild reaper

well I guess I am a monster for making them... nvm
To be correct, with the rebreather, deep dive suit, and deep dive gloves, you will not boil, you will drown. 5:47
That is a very fair statement indeed :D
Don’t forget the Ultra High Capacity Oxygen Tank.
5:33 I lol'd so hard when it bitch slapped that warper all the way to the ceiling! XD

Sea dragone
Hello 👋
I only did this because there’s not much comments here :/
Hello :) ....well you saw an opportunity and you seized it.
Oof that sounds like quite the unpleasant encounter :)
Thing is there are two theories on why it’s aggressive and always roaring is because it’s trying calling to call its mother which obviously died in the lost river or the sea dragons misses the others because they are lost and can’t find each other so either why it’s still sad though
Yeah both are quite tragic :(
I was looking for the lava castle one time, and I kept hearing the big devil roaring above me, so I (absolutely terrified at this point) was constantly looking up to see where it was, and then some lava lizard bit the side of my prawn suit and nearly made my soul jump from my body.
I definitely understand why it would spook you :)
Also, I really like your subnautica videos, so keep up the good work👍👍👍ps the sea dragon leviathan is my favorite creature in the game🐉
"Many players have crapped their pants at this sound"
*Ninitendo switch advert plays*
Haha terrifying! :)
The meteor it can shoot at you for some reason
That part cracked me up
Seems like a bit of a random ability :)
@@TheLastBacon oh shoot, you responded, this is an old video what are you doing looking at its comments. XD
Also yes it is
Ight, ima go binge watch every subnautica lore video, wish me luck
Best of luck :)
Am I the only one who thinks that the sounds the Sea Dragon makes are so sad? They sound like they're in pain or like they don't want to hurt anyone. They just sound so sad.
To me they sound very epic :) not sure if sad...
Fun fact: the Sea Dragon originally was 1.5 times bigger than it is now
I guess it couldn't fit into the lava zones :)
Oh god, I remember when I encountered this being for the first time. I once was in the lava zone and heard an roar. I was like "hol up" then once I encountered this being I started running away yelling "you best run away if you know what's good for you like a nutritious daily breakfast." I thankfully got out of there-
Haha yeah first time hearing that roar and seeing it emerge from the shadows is really something :)
Many players have crapped thier pants apon hearing this sound: ad plays
P.S I know im late
Haha still fits :D
Hi
Its me, did you watch this because of my comment
Just an FYI, the punch arm of the prawn has a higher DPS than the drill arm and saves you a lot of power
True :) it can definitely help a lot, the drill arm can perhaps be easier to use for players who maybe don't have great timing tho.
Love your content mate!
Thank you! :)
@@TheLastBacon it’s np bro! 😁
This is probably my favorite creature in the game, great video!
Thank you :) glad you liked the vid!

This deserves a sub, I love binging your videos
Thank you very kindly! :)
An ad played right as he said "many players crapped their pants after hearing this sound"
"Many players crapped their pants after hearing this sound: 'come on and slam, and welcome to the jam'"
Haha absolutely terrifying :)
but ooh, that thunderous roar 😳. so unsettling! the atmosphere of red hot lava and dark depth adds to the tense experience of going down there, and seeing a huge huge dragon prowling and roaring really makes your heart jump! it's admittedly quite cute in pictures, but turning around while playing in the game and seeing its HUGE from right behind you sounds creepy!
I think you described it perfectly :) I love how the dragon has this presence, as opposed to the other leviathans which makes you pause in awe for a bit before being eaten.
The Sea Dragon Leviathan is my favorite Leviathan because it lives in the Lava Zone and it looks cool and sometimes it does not attack.
They are very cool for sure :)
I love calling the Sea Dragon the derpiest fish of the sea because when it looks at me in creative it has a derpy smile
It does look a bit derpy :)
@@TheLastBacon for the most fearsome fish in the sea it does have a friendly smile
Knowing that below zero introduces the precursor basically responsible for the outbreak by stealing those eggs is so wild to me. Like we basically know exactly what happened but to see the face behind it and know his regrets is just. Wow.
Yep exactly :) It's crazy we actually get to speak to him.
Right when he said "many player crap their pants when they hear this sound" the belvita commercial plays and it's a happy song haha
Haha perfect timing :D
They should have kept the hole at the Aurora so there would be an animation of the sea dragon dragging a reaper to the inactive lava zone
That would be such an awesome introduction to it :)
"Many players have crapped their pant upon hearing this sound" *gets ad for TH-cam premium*
The most terrifying sound of them all :)
