Hey guys, I am planning to revive this TH-cam Channel. At first I want to upload 2 videos I never uploaded in the past (when I should have). Early-access content of Subnautica. You'll see this throughout the upcoming week.
I am also open for suggestions what you guys think my channel should be about. I'll consider every idea.

Backed in the day you could lose your cyclops to flooding (when you are unable to repair the breaches) now you could lose it permanently by an explosion I really liked the flooding feature because it gave me thought that if I abandoned the submarine when having a bull breach it would sink to the ocean floor and then someday I would come back to retrieve it

That would make for an awesome recovery scenario. Cyclops is at the bottom of the ocean and too deep to actually spend time fixing it, so you toss some floaters on it and work on it at a more reasonable depth.

I completed the entire game without ever receiving so much as fire appearing in the cyclops, and I brought mine all the way down to the lava lakes multiple times. So thanks for showing me what it looks like.
Same, and this was early access. The graphics have surely improved since then too.
I had a fire within minutes of me building it. So proud...
The only fire I got was not slowing down my engine fast enough. And the only damage was from taking exactly one hit from the lava lakes sea dragon

You don't even need that, just hit silent running and continue on your way, even without going to full speed you can get out of the aggro zone of a reaper before it has hit you again.

when I first made my Cyclops I was like "SWEEET now I have a moving fortress of POWER! lets put ALLLLL my stuff on board" then I had a run in with the Reaper, luckily I escaped with my hull down to like 40%, I moved all my stuff into a new base after that LOL

honestly the ONLY thing use the cyclops for is exploring the Lava Zone since i don't want to lose it doing anything else and the seamoth can t go that deep :P, i lost my seamoth to the reaper at least 4 times...starting to get expensive, after paying for it the 3rd time i jsut cheated myself the 4th one LOL
OsamaBinLooney I use the Cyclops as a massive cargo ship to gather large amounts of supplies from each biome without twenty trips. You can park it near where your farming if the area has Leviathans or dangerous creatures and use a Prawn or Seamoth to gather and explore. Honestly the only time I get attacked is when Im crossing the suken island biome since Bone Sharks overspawn and sit near the surface. Beyond that Leviathans are easy to avoid if you watch them from a distance and get an idea of their territory and agro radius.

My cyclops has never met this fate, creating it felt like such a Herculean task that I refused to place it in harm’s way. I kept it away from all the leviathans until the defenses were all set up.

It was actually named the Titstanic, but still one of the top 10 anime deaths of all time
Imagine if the cyclops exploding worked like time capsules, where another person in another game could find someone else's wrecked cyclops and get resources
He could have avoided this situation if only he had kept the Cyclops parked with the lights off. The Reapers leave you alone when you do that. All he had to do was wait a little bit, go outside with his repair tool, and fix the hull.
Yeah, the way leviathans work in this game is they detect two things (at least with vehicles): light and movement, if you just turn off your lights and stop moving the leviathans don't even attack your vehicles, I think there are some exceptions though such as reapers attacking Seamoths even when it's lights are turned off and it's not moving.

+Owen Rosen The Atlas would be useless. Sure, it would be cool to look at, but you couldn't take it anywhere below the surface like you can with the Cyclops. "the whole planet is an ocean" Not the playable area, the only thing out in the DEEPest of the deep areas is the dead zone, nothing important out there. The only viable way of implementing the Atlas would be in the separate multiplayer title they are making in the future.

This was the most unfair thing to ever happen to me in the game (attacked by 4 ghost leviathans simultaneously) but ultimately it delivered probably the greatest thrilling experience in my entire gaming life. It really helped that I'm playing on hardcore and try to Google as little as possible about the game.
Basically everything the dev's planned actually worked out extremely cinematically and it was as picture-perfect as a cutscene. It had all the elements of a great movie scene: "Creature attack" warning (which scared the bajeezus out of me, I was thinking what kind of creature is brave enough to attack this humungous thing??), hearing "emergency power" when activating flank speed for the first time in my life, me trying and failing to save the ship and realizing with a ray of hope that the seamoth was now my escape route, hull critical warning, epic alarms, epic music, epic sound of the seamoth being released, the barely making it past 300m before releasing my seamoth which can only dive up to 300m, the barely making it out of the 5-second countdown explosion (which I had no idea was going to happen; it was a nice bonus to the thrill) and finally escaping those blue shitheads by the skin of my teeth. The best part being of course that it actually happened and wasn't a cutscene. I'm really glad I didn't look up videos of Cyclops crashes BEFORE experiencing it for myself with my actual in-game life on the line.
Since then I became a pussy and backed up all my saves and tried to get my items back, dying many times to the ridiculous 4-ghosts simul attack. It made the game a bit less mysterious and awe-inspiring. Don't do it. The only right way to play this game is Hardcore and without Googling anything. What I should've done is continued hardcore and just left the wreck there, forever, treating the beacon as a grim warning to never go there again in my entire life.
EDIT: It's actually horrible game design which caused this amazing experience. This can only happen if you go off the edge of the world, which will force the game to attack you with a bunch of ghost leviathans. The edge-of-the-world warning only occurs ONE TIME in the whole game (and the game does NOT tell you this fact); after that there's no clear indication you're going off the edge other than a rather captivating deep blue color which beckons you to go further. To make matters worse, once a ghost leviathan appears and the player has no idea WHY, thus stays completely still out of fear, the game still forces more and more to appear and eventually attack. Of course going off the edge is easily avoided if you google these things but I was trying to play completely in-universe.
Max Loh that's impossible you can never have 4 in the same place at one time unless you hacked one in. Or at least I think it's impossible.

This is the most unluckiest I’ve seen in subnautica.
If you'd turned the engine off the reaper would have stopped attacking, which would have given you time to extinguish the fires (you could then sneak away with silent running)
It is very much on purpose, he's just going back and forth with the engine at full power (creates engine fires and attracts the entire neighbourhood) and the hull has more in common with Swiss cheese than anything, meaning it's been minutes already.
Furthermore immediately leaving before the "abandon ship" alert finishes speaking, and standing still to watch the sinking while the reaper is right here.

I lost a seamoth on the enforcement platform island, seaglid back to base to grab my porpulsion gun, come back to my seamoth 1000m depth, the island unloaded and the seamoth went throurgh it, gone for good. This was yesterday

You might have been able to save it by putting it on silent running and, after putting out the fires, getting outside to repair hull damage. Creatures don't seem to attack the Cyclops if you're not in it
Silent mode, or even simpler just turning off the engine entirely.
The guy kept the engine running the whole time AND turned the lights back on.

It would be really cool if they made it so that when your cyclops is mortally damaged and you eject from it you can still escape the mini explosion that kills whoever is still inside of it. But later you can enter into your cyclops through hull holes or something to retrieve your stuff. Maybe it would require a laser cutter to do so and you can deconstruct the things inside to recycle the cost of losing the ship slightly. it would be really cool to see this in action if your cyclops went down super deep and it was like a mission/expedition to get your stuff back.

Hah yea, the active lava zone was the first place I brought the cyclops when I made this in the dev build and wasn't in the stable game yet. The TitsTanic sunk with like 2 hits of the seadragon :c (That was epic tho, I should have recorded that... It was even hard to escape the sub because it was flung around)
After the update, i never really use the Cyclops anymore. Too much hazzle
I never had any issue with lava zone. You can go with silent running pretty much all the time you're in the danger zone because of the thermal plant.

This is the one thing i hated about the cyclops, no way to actually DEFEND yourself in this massive submarine which costs a small fortune to make and you'll likely use another small fortune to turn it into a mobile base. Sure you can drop lures but that'll only work if your in large open space where the lure won't just get knocked back to you by whatever's chasing the sub. On one hand, I know the Dev's specifically didn't want us to have weapons in the game due to the horrible events that occurred before the game's production but we got stasis rifles for the player and toxic torpedoes for the seamoth. But on the other hand I think we could've been given something. Maybe stasis turrets on the side and aft of the sub? Maybe torpedoes on the front? Either way, it's always a pain whenever you lose the cyclops. A pain that feels like you're powerless to prevent.
This is why the cyclops's anti fire thing is si useful
