    Love talking hands. You need to bring it back.
    As for the sub second complication. From a watchmaking point of view, it's the centre seconds which is the complication. Cheers!

    Great video guys. You really helped me decide on pulling the trigger on a Panerai Luminor 1950 PAM 359. You mentioned the deLuca strap at one point. I bought one recently and returned it - the quality did not match the price. You mentioned in the video that you found a different strap supplier whom you like better Who would that be? Cheers!

    hey guys. love your show. to answer your question, i'm pretty sure the cali dial only comes in radiomir cases. i have a pam 24 and i love it. great review of the luminor. i agree with most of your points apart from the discomfort. i find my pam sub extremely comfy. but im not feeling the ETA movement either. but hey, i heard they're making a base inhouse to replace the ETAs. hope to see more videos from you guys. thanks!

    I have owned just about every major Rolex that has come out in the last 10 years, (many flavors of Sub, GMT, DSSD, DJ2, Daytona, Day-Date-2, and Sky) and have sold all of them but my Sky-Dweller once I got hooked on Panerai. I was seriously bored out of my mind with Rolex and couldn't find another brand that I liked that wasn't a copycat of everything else. Plus the small sizes that Rolex insists on never changing... with the 40mm Day-Date being the last straw for me. Then I discovered Panerai and dumped everything else. To me, my PAM312 and PAM507 are the most comfortable watches I've ever owned. The Sky-Dweller is the most comfortable and balanced Rolex I've ever owned with a close tie with the YM2. But the PAMs just feel at home on the wrist despite their size and don't scream for attention. The added beauty of PAMs is the customization. You can literally make the watch anything you want to match anything you wear. And with the Bronzo, it's never the same watch each week as it forms a patina. Panerai for life!

      +ViperGuy Dodge you have a 150 dollar pocket watch movement in a 5 k watch. I stick with my rolex submariner/Explorer II.

    • @XennialGuy
      @XennialGuy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most Panerai movements have moved in-house and are not ETA anymore. You can stick with you dainty 40mm ancient sub, but real men wear 44mm - 47mm. See Sly Stallone for details.

    • @psm1167
      @psm1167 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      don't Sly and Arnold wear the 60mm panerai?

    • @XennialGuy
      @XennialGuy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have an Egiziano that's 60mm but that's just one watch. They wear 44 - 47's most of the time.
      I have since added the PAM 289 to my collection. Best movement I've ever owned. 8 Days power reserve, simply better than any automatic I've ever owned, maybe with the exception of the Skydweller... maybe. It's very accurate and well built. The rose gold looks better than Rolex rose, simply stunning.

    • @psm1167
      @psm1167 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ViperGuy Dodge I'm a newbie to Panerai and have the 005 but absolutely love it. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it. Lol the egiziano is massive. I live in LA and see Arnold out and about almost every weekend when he has lunch at cafe Roma in Beverly Hills. He is always wearing the egizianio, lol you can almost read the time from across the street, but it actually looks really good on him. He and sly are prob the only guys that can really pull it off.

    Pams are really comfortable to wear if you know how to wear a watch properly, the crown guard is not uncomfortable at all. It is a simple watch but unfortunately not for everyone, IMO it does not share other popular brands marketing strategy. It is not intended for the masses. Picture it like a pair of glasses looking for the right matching face.

    I own a 2013 PAM00000, I love the simplicity of the dial with no complications. It's not a sandwich dial, but it's beautiful! I find the watch is comfortable on my left wrist, even with the protruding crown protector. I do agree with you however on the fact that this watch is not and cannot be a true dress watch due to its DNA.

  • @funjeep1
    @funjeep1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Guys, great talk. In my collection I have included a Panerai 359 Lum. I often flip back and forth depending on how I dress but there is something about this piece which makes a statement much like a superhero.. Any way, this watch was meant to be worn more towards the forearm not the wrist, this is why the watch bothers you. Take a look how all action hero's wear them i.e. Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dwayne Johnson etc.

  • @backin10sec1

    Liked the video review, raises some interesting points, I suppose Panerai could be considered the marmite of watches, personally I love my luminor base titanio, purchased at the original Panerai Orologerie in Firenze. The experience of buying and owning an authentic Panerai completely outweighs any argument about money saved by buying a fake, in my opinion. This is a watch I wear for myself, nobody else and it will go with me to my grave. I own other watches but none so far have the charisma of my Panny.

    This is the only watch where I would recommend a high quality homage (not replica!!) as this is just such a stupidly over priced watch with a $250 movement.
    There is nothing Italian about this watch anymore. Honestly, save yourself a fortune, buy one of the high quality homages. In my experience there is next to no difference in quality between a high quality homage and the real thing.

    • @andrewhilton5953
      @andrewhilton5953 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm.. I see your point. However, Its not about how much the watch costs to make? You'll find 99% of brands regardless of the product, have substantially! lower costs associated to their product.. so what are you paying for ? - You're paying for Brand, for the history, the style, legitimacy.. Yes you can buy great replicas... but at what cost? You're basically "a walking lie"?... Itd be like driving a fake ferrari... if you desperately want people to think you have money and thats what makes you happy then go for it... but as for someone like myself and real watch lovers out there, its really not about the money, its about what that brand is and everything it stands for... Just my 2cents haha..

    • @submariner6139
      @submariner6139 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually, a good USD500 replica would do a better job in this regard. It feels and works exactly like the gen one and more importantly, you can brilliantly take the piss out of those who paid (literally) 15 times for it.

    • @andrewhilton5953
      @andrewhilton5953 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sub mariner Man, your comment makes no sense lol.... and with a youtube name like Sub mariner.. I would think you would at least have some sort of appreciation for the real thing.. but Oh well. Also - You can't take the piss out of anyone who has paid full retail (for something that will be better quality, and Oh not to mention, its genuine!) - The reason is because, for the people who can afford it - Its not expensive? .. You seem to forget That 10,000 for you, may be very expensive, but for someone with a lot of $$.. 10 grand is like 100 bucks ... so you're not really taking the piss out of someone who can afford to buy something of genuine quality and it financially does not impact them in any way shape or form? - the joke is on people who buy replica, and try and pretend they have $$$... That, my friend.. is far more amusing....

    • @submariner6139
      @submariner6139 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude, it makes no sense to say it makes no sense simply because u do not share the view. You r not right simply because u don't like what I think. And judged by your razor sharp argument, I feel you don't get the point. But that is ok. Cheers.
