    Hi Ross. You are just ("something") I needed in my business life. You are so practical and almost anything you say, hits the nail on the head. Thank you very much and already I have started applying what you taught me. I'm hopeful and optimistic. Keep up the good work.

    Two questions and one tip:
    -Is there anything to do to up the chances of getting a reply? Sometimes I feel like the e-mails I am sending out are landing in the clients spam folder.
    - Would you recommend using the paid LinkedIn in order to be able to contact clients on there? I think if you haven't connected with them previously you have to pay to message them. Worth it?
    - if the e-mail is not available on their website it will occasionally be shown on the Facebook page/Google business listing
    Otherwise, great video, very helpful! Very useful to set a numerical target of reaching out to 10 businesses/day rather than saying "reach out to some more people",

    • @RossWelch
      @RossWelch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dude, Thanks for the support! Unfortunately sales is a numbers game and I firmly believe you should try as many different tactics as possible.
      I've used LinkedIn in the past, which is a good way to grow your network! You need to pay to message people. If you haven't already, ensure your email has a 'call to action'. Don't play all of your cards at once. Just ask them if they'd be interested in having a call with you for you to explain more, leave some mystery. Hope that helps 🙌

    My portfolio consists of film and television work, not the kind of videos I'd be doing for clients. Is it good to still send that as a reel, or do I need to find a business to do a free/cheap video for in the style I'm wanting to do?

    • @RossWelch
      @RossWelch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Chris... I would be tempted to suggest doing a free or cheap job to put in your portfolio.that way you'll connect better with the client 🤞

    That is a bold claim to say retainers in the video sphere were uncommon until you personally started teaching it to hundreds of people. Probably not your intention but came off as a big-ego statement to me that isn't really true. Maybe it's true locally in your area but where I live it's the go-to strategy and has been for a long while amongst professionals.
    Aside from that, good content all around. Keep it up!

    • @RossWelch
      @RossWelch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Evan, I appreciate the comment... I hadn't viewed it like that! Didn't mean to come across egotistical just more emphasising the point.
      It's pretty rare where we are but I certainly wasn't the first person to use a retainer 😂
      Thanks again dude and hope you're enjoying the content 🙌

      @evanthecameraman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RossWelch I figured it was not your intention. I think what you are doing with your TH-cam channel is great and you are pushing people more in the direction of controlling their own outcomes and being professional versus waiting for things to fall into their lap.

    Ross providing gems again. Question for you Ross? I’m looking for a business coach and it’s hard to wrap my head around accepting advice on how to develop or scale a video production company from someone who doesn’t understand that business specifically. I know that’s just nonsense on my part but do you have any suggestions or things you would look for specifically in a coach that might make them a better fit for this industry without them having to be in the industry themselves?

    • @RossWelch
      @RossWelch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Patrick! I'd look for their understanding of the creative industry as a whole! I do offer personal mentoring too but if you are not in the Perspective Acadamy, I'd consider that first.

    Unfortunately you have a very big friction point. Your link to enroll in the academy doesn't work. It just spins and spins as if it's going to load, and then never does. I've tried it on multiple devices, and nothing ever happens. I'm able to access other areas of your website, but the most important one, where I go to pay you to enroll doesn't work.

    Hi Ross, your channel has been super helpful! My husband and I started White Lemon Production in Melbourne, Australia last year. Last year was more focused on branding and our goals etc. Now we want to focus really hard on getting clients. we are focusing on Saas and eCommerce as that is where our experience lies. However, it is hard to get clients without a portfolio, my husband has only ever made ads for another company (he is a producer/director not a cinematographer), and I myself am a nurse by trade haha so we've ad to create a legal agreement with our freelancers (who are also our friends) to have their portfolios on our website and we have a disclaimer. It's hard getting the message across to prospects that although the business is new, the freelancers and us are not new to the industry and have decades of experience. Do you have any tips on how to market ourselves without a portfolio? or do you think its kind of impossible?
