    What wheel cleaner do you recommend with coated wheels? I notice they recommend a non acidic cleaner so Adams wouldn’t be ideal correct?

    You could help people out by writing down everything you take off the shelf for video consumption. I would imagine you could also find someone to write it off on your taxes if you track it.
    Also, my OCD Spidey senses tingled when I saw the silver wheel weights, since I know they also come powder coated black.

    Matt, any reason you didn’t use Gtechniq’s Wheel Armor coating? It’s made specifically for wheels, and has a much higher temperature rating so you can use on brake calipers too.

    Those quick releases look nice. Wish we had them at my job. We have the ones that you have to push in to put the air gun on and off and some of them get stuck and leak horribly. Working with them all day is real royal pain in the ass.

  • @aloharacing
    @aloharacing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Matt, I assume this coating will eliminate the need to use Adam's wheel cleaner? If one decided to continue using Adam's, do you think it would affect the longevity of the C5?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not. You will still need wheel cleaner.

  • @johnwalters878
    @johnwalters878 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use Beadmaker on the paint, but I like to use Gyeon Wetcoat on the wheels, as I can then just dry them with the blower. Much quicker than wiping the barrels with Beadmaker. Not a bad idea to wipe the face with Beadmaker though. Of course then we are protecting the protection that’s protecting the protection 😛

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with WetCoat and other spray silica sealants would be the lack of protection in comparison to other options. You gets tons of beading, but not necessarily true protection.

  • @anuj.chokshi
    @anuj.chokshi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Noticed you wait 5 minutes to flash and remove...the gtechnic website says wipe off immediately. How do we know what’s the right thing to do?

    • @nathangentili4802
      @nathangentili4802 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anuj Chokshi he did a video with Gtech a while ago. And learned from them. They basically said that it’s on instantly and that a normal DIY’er should do it that way, but that from a professional perspective, there are markers for when to take it off, the sheen oil slick look, or expansion of the streaks. It’s a good video to watch.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nathan is correct. There is no harm done by letting it sit for a little while just so you don't leave it on too long. That's when experience comes in. Otherwise, the think I like about Gtechniq coatings is that you can wipe it on and off immediately, and it seems to still work really well.

    What are your thoughts on the Griot’s Car Wash Vs CG Snow Foam, Mr. Pink or Adams Car Shampoo?

    • @TerrificFlow
      @TerrificFlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      About Surface Wash? If i record correctly, he tried it (check the video). foam was great (probably best in the market) but he didn't found that it cleaned that much more compared to adam's shampoo. I saw a few review about it and they tend to showcase the cleaning capability of it, which is interesting for a foaming product. i don't know who's right or wrong, you might have to try it for yourself on this one.
      It is more expensive than most shampoo though.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never used the CG Snow Foam. I think Adam's is the best. Mr. Pink is also good and a little less expensive.

    • @ronlk46
      @ronlk46 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obsessed Garage Thanks Matt! I’m going to use up what products CG Foam Soaps I have and then switch to Adam’s Shampoo. I know when you tested the Adam’s Shampoo, you preferred their Adam’s Wash. I’ve got a couple things I need to order from your Store in addition to a gallon of Adam’s Shampoo.
