I didn’t realize seniors were such a large group. Why is Disney not doing more for them? Senior days at the parks? Senior discounts? More seating and shade for seniors??

They don’t do anything for anybody anymore.

Yes! We were the Disney kids, the Disney teens, the Disney Adults, and now the Disney Seniors. Our love of the Disney parks has not aged, so please do not force us to age out of the parks! Remember us and treat us with the same thoughtfulness, care, and consideration you treat the parks we aged with! We were the Cast Members, the first to get married at the parks, the first to honeymoon at the parks, and we moved to Florida and California to be near the parks. Some of us were never blessed with children or grandchildren, but we still visit the parks, probably more frequently than any other demographic because we have the time and the money. Finally, the company's leaders should pay attention because most of you are now seniors too! Take one day in any of the parks to visit not as a VIP senior, but as an everyday senior and you will understand exactly what we experience, what we need to continue to visit, and what will make us still feel like part of the Disney family and not pushed aside. Thank you.

      Hi 👋 Rosanne,
I want to give you a standing ovation 👏
There is a pure financial side to seniors at Disney Parks, Resorts, Restaurants, Cruises, etc.
Then there is the Public Relations (PR) side ….. and this fits like a glove 🧤….. and no for-profit company want bad PR
This is so eloquently said …..
Thank you so much for not only taking the time to watch the video but for sharing your thoughts!

I agree. I wish they would allow us to skip lines with free Lightning Lane. That would be nice, but if we are with our kids and grandkids, they would pay because they are better able to afford the extra expense. The DAS was taken away from those of us who have medical issues that make it tough to stand in lines for long periods of time. Just not fair to those of us who have physical issues with legs and feet (diabetes). Scooters are expensive to rent, even off-site. Wheelchairs, someone has to push. One senior pushing another senior is physically difficult. Most seniors do not want their children pushing the wheelchair. I feel guilty, when our son is relegated to that task.

Hi 👋 Cynthia, thank you so much for sharing … we agree with everything, everything you said. Hopefully Disney Cast Members, and there are some in the Disney for Seniors Facebook group who can help get the attention of Disney.

@@NanDanTravel You should join up with some disability groups to make your voice even louder. The fact that incomes are lower for Seniors and the disabled, and that there is a lot of overlap in the groups means that Disney is gouging those two groups. Other demographics have a choice to stand in long lines or not. Seniors and the disabled don't have that luxury. They can't tolerate what younger and able-bodied people can. So Disney is price gouging seniors and the disabled by forcing extra costs for Scooters and shorter lines. They are a necessity, not a choice.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts …. much appreciated
Do you know of any such FB groups?
And, since it’s not just a disabled guests issue, we do want to get the attention of the big boy Disney related Vloggers too to help support our suggestions to improve the experience of seniors who need Disney parks, etc.

Disney doesn't care about its customers in general, let alone its seniors. Disney is currently trying to exploit the memories and nostalgia we provided our children by patronizing their parks and buying their products. The current CEO, Bob Iger, has publicly stated that Disney's new business model is to fleece the once-in-a-lifetime visitors as much as possible in favor of catering to those repeat customers who contributed to the success that Disney has become. Since he has squandered Disney's profits on losing propositions like Disney+, ideological movie agendas, and white washing Disney's past, he intends to prop up the struggling business with profits from the parks. As of now, Disney parks generate 30% of the company profits and 70% of its generated revenue annually. They have cut staff and maintenance to the bone. They couldn't care less about discounts for those who have spent tens of thounds of dollars over a lifetime to support them. Good luck getting them to listen to you. They didn't even listen to their single largest stock holder. We have no chance except to avoid them and encourage our children and their children to avoid them as well. Disney has gone from the happiest place on earth to the greediest.

I love going to the parks and I agree with you. Our nostalgia and love for the parks means nothing to them, they’re a business and asking them to cut into those profits will never happen.

When I was in my 40’s and 50’s I could stand in there long ride lines. Now that I’m in my 60’s my body can no longer tolerate the standing. My wife and I really looked forward to taking our grand children but I know in my heart Disney will get worse and we will never go again.

Everyone's situation is different.....just like all snowflakes are different.....yet I would encourage you to join, if you have not already I suggest you consider joining the Disney for Seniors facebook group.....with over 45,000 members, if you post your situation.....and once you are admitted you can still post anonomously, I would suggest making a post on your situation and ask for advise.....you never know.....or you can ask for one of our two travel agents who specialize in Disney with experience of planning Disney vacations for seniors and mobility challenged

You answered your own question. Why do seniors not get discounts? Because we, as Baby Boomers, have the most disposable income. Disney must know this or they'd be giving us discounts.

Thanks Paulette for taking the time to watch the video and sharing your thoughts ….. I will add that like any macro analysis the each member of a demographic group does not share equally ….. of course there are The Silents group that has far, far less ….. and of course, it’s not all about the money

I'm at a point where sometimes I get senior discounts and sometimes I don't, depending upon the age cutoff. Sure I'll take the discount when I can, but honestly, why should seniors get so many discounts. I'd much prefer a little bit lower prices for everyone rather than special groups.
