Universal’s highest tier pass has Express Pass included after 4pm. And their three premiere (deluxe) resorts have the Unlimited Express Pass included for every guest on the room reservation, every day of stay (including check out day), all day, both parks, and unlimited times you can ride a single attraction. There are so many TH-cam videos out there "can we ride every LL line attraction in a single day?" where they always succeed, using just the MP LL. So the Premier Pass is only giving you peace of mind and less "on the phone" time, but nothing tangible.

Now that they’ve started it I think they’ll never get rid of Multipass unfortunately. Perhaps one thing they might be able to do is find a sweet spot for the price of the multipass. For example if they tested and found that if they tripled the price of multipass, then only about 1/3 of the people end up buying it than previously. At that rate Disney still makes the same money, LL is much shorter of a wait for those who purchased multipass and premier, and standby moves more smoothly because there is drastically less people to have to let through LL first. Win-win-win. If that change makes the benefits of multipass too close to premier pass then make premier pass unlimited. With its crazy price, I don’t think the number of people willing to buy premier pass will affect the length of LL much. Also, in my dreams the parks go back to how it used to be. Such Sweet Dreams.

Many Disney experts are finding that when Disney says a stand by line is 60 minutes, often they are finding the actual wait time was 20 minutes. Disney may be inflating how long the lines are to get more people to feel like they HAVE to buy a lightning pass. We were there just before Milton hit and we purchased MPLL for all but AK. My observations: not needed at AK so I’m glad I didn’t buy it and for the other parks, it didn’t seem like a ton of people bought it. Maybe I’m wrong but it seemed like it was only a handful of people at a time. What surprised me most - that 30 minute early entry actually was handy. It enabled us to ride the “extra” charge LL rides before they got crowded. I just don’t see a whole lot of people forking over the big bucks for the premier, but who knows…

Wait.. isn't this worse? I would have expected this "premier" pass to give you access to Lightning Lanes as if they were Standby Lanes (didn't know VIP Tours existed) and not needing your phone WOULD be worthwhile.. Being able to access these LL once!? No thanks!!
But it makes sense, as these changes affect ALL visitors negatively (making other lines worse for other and the cost), which makes the requirement for something better than the base offering almost a must on packed days. How sad.

I’d rather Disney have $300+ tickets and people go less. It used to be a 1x in your life experience to go (maybe 2-3 if you were rich). I’d rather take my kids 2x in their lives with less people/lines vs going every single year, stuck in line 7 hours each visit, which is so not magical. Similar to the $250 Mickey Christmas event back in 2021, where we ran through zero lines for 6 hours. It was amazing and I’d rather pay out for that experience every single time.

This solves the problem? That's like saying we're going to solve the emissions problem by making gas $30 a gallon so everyone will buy electric cars. Also, it's a clear push to get people to pay more by choosing a more expensive hotel to get access to this "pay more solution". Don't call it what it ain't.

NOTHING about anyone of this is to improve guests experience, even the ones that spent hundreds on this pass. its just a money grab. as is everything at this place nowadays. can't believe people are still going at this point. You can fly to japan and come to our parks for way less i reckon. its less than 100 bucks to get in, food is cheap, ok the hotels arent that cheap but they're not as much as America. A family of four trying to go on a peak ride has to drop 100 dollars for LL >>>wtf ! And after they just spent , what 200x 4 for entrance. thats almost a grand for a day. Its actually difficult for my brain to comprehend people paying that, its literally insane.

Rise of the Resistance was at 210 minutes all day yesterday. The ride was closed until 1:00 PM and closed again at 8:00 PM. Needless to say we didn’t get to ride it. We spent thousands to be here.

The issue is that they had a healthy amount of people in the fast-pass lanes on the old fastpass timeslot system where it was first-come-first-serve and that was all there was to it.
Once they started charging money for it, they went "Hey, if we just increase how many people can get fastpass, it'll make us more money!" but now that's ruining the lines for everyone, and people are paying to stand in line for the same amount of time they would have before the system was implemented in the first place, despite having to pay more.
On paper, the entire new system is literally just a scam.

I see your point, but I haven't experienced that when I buy MP LL for my family. We have used the system to give us incredible experiences and definite value add over the standby guest experience. I wouldn't blink at paying $50 per person per day for MP LL. I'd hold my nose and be annoyed between $50-$99 per person per day, but still pay it. After that, I wouldn't go to the parks.
