even playing the 1.5 version i still shudder before the second hallow bastion riku fight, i spent a good two to three hours just watching that damn cutscene when i first played the game on ps2

Jiminy Cricket has the developer's X-Blade. To unlock his boss fight, you have to beat all 3 KH games in a row on Critical Mode without taking damage. Then head back to the Terra boss fight area, and you'll find Jiminy Cricket ready to send you right back to the start.
If you die, you lose all progress and have to fulfill all requirements again.

When I was younger I never used magic and only used the “cool keyblades” as I was a warrior. Also never upgraded Donald and goofy and never used items or blocked as I only thought X was the only good face button. Gosh I made that game so hard for myself lol.

what if you got level 17 before you left the island ? Also what level do you get scan?
@@Insanemembrane93 In KH1 you learn scan at level 9 if you chose the staff, 12 if you chose the shield, and 15 if you chose the sword.
In KH1FM you learn Scan at level 9 if you chose the sword, 15 if you chose the staff, and 21 if you chose the shield

And in general for KH1 or 2 abilities gotten through level up depend on what weapon you chose at the beginning of the game

Honestly I felt the invisible Chameleon to be a lot harder than most bosses when I was younger. The fact that you don't have cure really increases the difficulty of that boss fight.
Yeah, it’s notably the first major roadblock for a lot of kids. The issue with the ranking is that he’s ranking them as a hardens veteran who’s been playing these games for years and has done so several times. It doesn’t reflect the average newbie doing these for the first time, nor the little kids in 2002 who got the cool game with Mickey Mouse in it.

@@mindxfuneral I’d say it’s more accurate to look at it from a first or even second time perspective then a person who’s played the games for their whole lives. I’m 16 and picked up KH 1.5+2.5 last year, and still hasn’t finished my first playthrough of 2 (got sidetracked with persona 4), and stealth sneak was still a decent road block for me my first time playing. IDK I just don’t think it’s fair to judge a boss based on difficulty when you’re a super experienced player is all.
Also he’s not playing on proud mode, on proud mode clayton can one shot Sora at the very start of the fight if health is low enough on proud with the shot at the start of the fight, also the chameleon rushing towards sora dealing insane damage NO CURE still while trying to defeat clayton

The hardest boss for me was figuring out how to leave Neverland after closing the keyhole.
I didn't have a problem with possessed Riku, but that was probably because I did all the sidequests and collectibles before going to what I thought was the final dungeon.
The hardest boss for me was trying to figure out how to get back to the clock tower to fight Phantom

Personally I always found Clayton to be one of the harder bosses. 'Most anything after the first few worlds is easy because you're leveled and equipped.
Agreed. CURE is an awesome spell, but kinda broken, and without cure, the boss battles are much harder
I think a lot of it just depends on what level you're on. I spent hours on Clayton, first Ursula, and the black demon guy in the volcano yet beat ansem's fights first try

Clayton was easy for me for whatever reason, but yeah, I did NOT have fun with Ursula and the black demon guy (landing and summoning tinkerbell saved my ass, lmao). I also had a really bad time with that Riku fight in hollow bastion, and the second Ansem fight.

@@GayRiku Ursula was to insane even thou people say she is easy they probably just cheated instead of doing it at the level they were supposed to. Because there is always a laser beam behind you every second and it's annoying. Of course the 1st time the play the game Oogie was the most annoying cause I was confused half the time till I got it finally got it.

Once you have played this game long enough, you learn that each of those guys are easy enough to beat each of them without even getting hit. I actually have farmed Destiny Island till I got level 10 mostly with Wakka and his ball, but Riku as well.
Dani lorenzo puente DI Riku is really easy if you get used to it. It takes some practice.
I strongly disagree. Not only is the trio harder, but I had more trouble beating the Chernabog than Riku, who I abused for a whopping 99 potions once I found his attack pattern.
riku is easier on final mix by a lot I never beat him on ps2 but now he's not so bad but on proud he's a challenge ahaha

Yeah, the damage output isn't that bad. The problem is that literally half the arena acts as cover and if the large lava rock touches even a tiny bit it will burst. And he throws them real slowly.

I had a really tough time against Riku because when I played this game when I was 8, I had no concept of Guard. Now he's a fucking joke even on proud, but I will admit, I was stupid as a kid.

Yeah, I realized it late too. The game starts out giving a tutorial on basic stuff only an idiot couldn't figure out, then later barely explains anything. Would have made a lot of encounters much easier.

For the Lock, Shock and Barrel boss fight in Halloweentown, I’m fairly sure that you can only get the highest amount of EXP for the fight if you beat Lock first, then Shock, then lastly Barrel. Otherwise, their EXP is reduced by 10%. Just a little heads up for folks in case you care about EXP.

Riku was so hard I was sweating when I was about to beat him. I remember using Arc Arcanum a lot.
I just went to Sephiroth with a 5-kilometer long health bar and with the ultima weapon and just spammed him.
Just have to say that I love whenever Sunburned Albino imitates any Disney character

Kirk Ziza was the most frustrating. I tried some of everything in my arsenal, even summoning Tinker Bell. Finally after maybe 25 attempts, I said, I hope I will never have to fight him again. I was actually hoping that he would return in the sequel. His character design and fighting style was the most appealing up to date!

Yeah the game doesn't have brightness settings (or volume settings for that matter) I didn't lighten up on my TV until Hollow Bastion.

+Jonathan Domeraski I remember playing this game when I was like 8 or 9 and the tv that I was playing on was garbage and I couldn't adjust the brightness. So that part when the darkness takes over Destiny Islands at the beginning of the game was almost impossible to beat.

Idk if it was changed in FM, but in vanilla KH1, the Behemoth is vulnerable to gravity, making it laughably easy to drop him to green HP by spamming it then move in to finish him.
And I can confirm lock-on remains on that jaguar in vanilla. At least it did on mine.

Mr.ThePercySimmons I was on proud mode with my final mix version of the game,not even level 80 or even having Ultima Weapon yet and I beat Unknown just in 2 tries (both were my first times even fighting him) and the only reason I didn't beat him the 1st time is because I didn't know his patterns or ultimate and while I'm not judging you for putting him so high I'm just saying that for me he would not nearly be as high up

When I played this game, the first time I died during the story was on Dragon Maleficent.
The riku ansem fight was one of the hardest when i fiest played this as a kid. Begween him and that damn dragon i still hear those damn cutscenes in my head. To me only harder bosses were sephiroth and kurt zisa

I think he purposely didn't include it because it wasn't in the original game and rather was only added into the final mix. But I would've like to know where it'd fit. Personally I didn't find it that hard. Granted I was like level 80 but except for one point where he put my health to 1, it seemed easy and I did it on my first try. But sephiroth I have yet to beat in kh1. I got close a few times just because of my high level and also having ultima weapon but it still wasn't enough. I'm just not that great and predicting moves and blocking at the right time.

Darkrising1993 Easy way to beat Sephiroth in KH1 is make sure you have anything and everything you can to restore MP and just use strike raid.

The easiest way to fight this dude is to have max aeroga, curaga, and that ability that lets you gain mana every time you are hit. Spam Aeroga, you will have plenty of freaking mana for strike raid, dodge and occasionally hit him. Rinse and repeat this process and Sephiroth becomes an exp grinder for you lol. I ended up using him to level my character up, took many many fights to get to 100 but its do-able

i think your the only guy that tells people to use guard. i seen every one else just say or just use dodge roll for everything. and honestly. i love how u reccomend to use it. guard beats dodge roll on a lot of things.
I remember the 1st time I fought Ursula (the smaller version with the eels) and I was too dumb to figure out the cauldron in the middle, so I spent 2 hrs taking her health little by little, since then, I dread going to that world, even though I now know what to do
I remember if you speak to king triton before heading off to battle Ursula, he tells you to use magic 😂 I fought heaps of heartless to build up my magic double so I would have plenty to use and wouldn’t have to rely on elixirs constantly
I know how to fight her and still hate doing it. Why won't she stop spinning?
