In an instant I understood why someone wanted a house in that area. I absolutely love the mood of this home, the bold use of concrete in the bedrooms and the lighting and the amazing furniture really do it for me, what a stunning design, I wouldn't change a thing. 👌
I know this area well. All I can say is that by placing something like this in a landscape, it also takes something away. Green fields rolling into the sea are now punctuated by a glass rectangle, symbolic of someone’s desires and wealth. I won’t only go to this place and think about the green fields and the sea now. I’ll think about all the places all over this precious island that now also have glass boxes... the unending developments... It has been so sad to see Tasmania’s quiet places suddenly changed because wealthy people want to build monuments to take in the views. But I respect that the views are so mesmerising... it would be hard to build anything else.. I really hope the owner plants some vegetation to soften the structure... so it might settle into the place over time. By the way, you don’t need a glass box beside you to enable you to stare up at the Milky Way....

It’s interesting to see how easily these modernist pared back homes actually fit so well into any landscape- no matter what sort of terrain. They remind me a little of the monolith in 2001 a space Odyssey- their apparent simplicity works in their favour.
Agreed. Oddly enough, straight, simple lines blend in almost seamlessly with the expansive nature around the house. This channel and another one called Archipro, which focuses on NZ projects, show such houses every now and then. It really makes you want to move there!
Because they are soulless, and look like something you could find anywhere else in the world. The views are absolutely incredible but this house is so impersonal, cold, and characterless. I'll take a 500 year old house over this without thinking.

The views, the windows, fireplace, the width of the rooms, really everything breathtaking, if it wasn't for the concrete and black materials giving it a quite uncomfortable feeling of raw and uncosy, but I guess the calm and nature out there is worth it.
