Daily: 1792 small batch Impress: Woodford double oaked Mixer: old forester rye 100 or BT. Friday night: Eagle rare (findable here and my favorite) Special occasion: balcones pot still. (Once off shelves it’s gone. Unique profile and I love it. )
My daily drinker is split between Buffalo Trace and Early Times BIB. Mixer is Evan Williams BIB. Impress your friends bottle is Knob Creek 12. Friday night choice would be Old Forester 1910. Special Occasion is Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof or Calumet 16. Love your reviews.
My five favorites are: 1. Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon 2. Knob Creek 9 3. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked 4. Elijah Craig 5. Four Roses Small Batch I don't organize these by categories - they're just my favorites. I would think, though, that they could all fit in any of those niches, except maybe the mixer. I don't have money or room for the supplies necessary to make mixed drinks, and anyway I've found I like my bourbon straight. 🙂 It's good to hear y'all's Texas accents. I'm a Texas hick stuck in New Mexico, and finding someone who talks right around here is mighty tough. North Dallas, eh? Years ago I lived in Garland and then Farmers Branch. Home, though, is Cisco, about 45 mile east of Abilene. If I had to pick a special occasion bottle, it would be my Knob Creek single barrel. It's a Kelly Liquors store pick, and it's fantastic, gorgeous juice. I don't reserve it for special occasions, but I still don't pour a glass of it but every two or three weeks. I'm gonna be sad when it's gone, because the $56 it cost me was a pull, and it'd be tough to get than much together again (unless, of course, special circumstances intervene).
If you ever make it back home to Cisco stop by Abilene and go to H&h beverage.. their selection of bourbon would definitely rival any big city liquor store 😉
Only a few months into my bourbon/whiskey journey but here's my list so far: Daily: Old Grand-dad Bonded Mixer: Evan Williams BiB Friends: Old Forester 100 or Elijah Craig Small Batch Friday Night: Wild Turkey 101 Special Occasion: Woodinville Private Select Single Barrel
I can't argue with the WT101 pick. I bought my 1st bottle of it (ever) a couple weeks ago and am still amazed at its quality and price. $19.99 in my area. It leaves a nice lingering floral taste on the pallet. It's an easy and enjoyable sipper.
You cannot beat WT 101 for daily, a very good choice for friends is KC 9 year 100, the mixer for me would be EW Black Label or EW BIB 100, and Friday night and special occasion would be RB 101, if I could find one.
Okay, I'll have to get Wild Turkey and Old Forester, based on several recent reviews. My Daily Drinker is Green River Wheated, a recent discovery, with Larceny as a close second. I don't mix whiskies in anything, and I don't pour my drinks for friends (don't have any that like bourbon, enough reason). I also prefer Elijah Craig 92 or 94. and Makers Mark. The one time I tried Evan Williams it was nasty. My Friday night sentimental favorite is Hudson Four Part Harmony from Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery. My special occasion item isn't a bourbon -- it would be scotch.
Daily: Old Forester 86 or 1792 Small Batch Mixer: Rittenhouse Rye Friends: Woodinville Whiskey Port Finished or Woodford Double Oak Friday Night: Wild Turkey Rare Breed Special: 2XO Innkeepers Blend or Calumet 16
Another April who appreciates bourbon! Women in general are a rarity here. I got the Barrell 33 the same day I got Penelope Architect and I like the Architect more. I’m not sure what I was expecting out of the Barrell but I wasn’t as thrilled with it as I’d hoped.
1. Daily either coopers craft 100 or WT 101 2. Mixer EV BIB 3. Friends Woodford double oak 4. Friday night Russels 10 5. Special. I’m fairly new and don’t have a lot yet, but on what I have, I would say smoke wagon, uncut unfiltered. Even though I haven’t even try to get myself. My bottle is unopened pending special occasion
We dont get Coopers Craft 100 in Texas. I will be picking up a couple bottles on my next road trip. Your #3 is a great pour. I love toasted bourbons woodford makes a good on.
Great job by both of you. Nearly the perfect amount of time, 15 minute video's are the sweet spot. Damn good job . Too New to have a Daily, here is what I started with: 1792 Small Batch, Buffalo Trace, Kirkland's Bottled and Bonded, Old Forester 1910, Evan Williams Bottle and Bonded , Jefferson Ocean, Four Roses Select. Saving for a Special moment; Eagle Rare 10 year old Bourbon. P.S. You two have the same "Look" when you focus on the eyes. Meant to be.
Daily drinker - Redemption High Rye Bourbon, Impress your guest - (Eagle Rare if it was more readily available) otherwise Penelope Architect, cheap mixer - Jim Beam Black Friday night pour - A good Booker's or Rare Breed - Special Occasion -(Weller Antique 107 if available) or Angel's Envy Private Selection. Hard to really pick 5. Rare Breed is pretty easy to find in PA. Never seen Benchmark in PA, get it in NJ.
I'll be back in Dallas in about a month and will be scouting out bourbons. I do remember my old local store on nw hwy near lake highlands used to always get shipments of Weller. I also hope to score a smoke wagon while there as well.
Ok 1. Benchmark full proof, it’s already my daily drinker. 2. Coopers Craft 100, not a big deal but, in Texas it’s unavailable and great. 3. Old Grand 114, even though benchmark 125 probably is a better mixer. 4.IronRoot Harbinger 115, I’d prefer barrel proof but it’s even harder to get. 5. I’ve been holding onto a Bookers to share with a good friend for about 3 years, it’s time to open it.
I have 58 bottles of bourbon and I still feel like my collection is lacking lol. (All of them are open by the way, I buy bourbon to drink it, not stare at it or flip it like all these loser bourbon bros)
I have not bought anything to sell on the secondary, because I have not found anything that fits that criteria. Most likely, I will drink what I buy. But if I find a bourbon that I can buy and make $250 or more, I am selling it.
I have 46 bottles un-opened. I only only open one or two bottles at a time to drink them. Your collection is basically worthless since they are all opened. I dont stare at them or flip them either. lol.
Great video. Daily Drinker - I can't choose because what I am i the mood for changes day to day. My most frequent are WT101, Evan W BiB, Early times BiB. Mixer - Evan W BiB or 1783. Friends - Six &Twenty Five Grain (something different most people have not tried. Friday night - Woodford Reserve. Special Occaision - blue Note Uncut (survivor barrel, 116.5 proof). If you ask me again next week I will give a completely different list except for special occaision. The Blue Note is a rock star. I have 4 bottles, and when they are gone, there ain't no mo' because it's a single barrel of bourbon that survived a rickhouse collapse.
Love your list and channel. Here's my list. Daily Drinker: 1792 Mixer: Larceny For Friends: Elijah Craig BP Friday Night: Still Austin Cast Strength Special Ocassions: Four Gate Kelvin Colaboration Cast Strength
This was great to watch. My mixer is full proof and my fav all time is E.H. Single. Ran it through a blind with other heavy hitters and it still came out on top. Do another video when you finally open it, I hope you enjoy it. Cheers 🍻 It seems we have similar taste as well, try OF 1910 for your Friday night pour.
Still Austin for my daily, Rebel Distiller's Collection pick to impress/share with friends, Evan Williams BiB or Early Times depending on what's on hand for mixer, Angel's Envy Rye would be my Friday if it counted but if it has to be a bourbon Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof, and a Crowded Barrel Wheated Eleanor for my special occasion. The wheated Eleanor is particularly special to me, because it's from the same year I married my wife at the chapel that's on the same grounds as their distillery.
It's crazy how bourbon distribution goes. I trip over Rare Breed in Western NY, but stuff like Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Weller, EHT and ETL - rarely if ever see it, and when I do - it's several times MSRP. I hear of people buying Eagle Rare at MSRP every weekend in TX and it blows my mind. On the other hand, all Russel's offerings are basically perpetually on sale here, and most Old Forester stuff is usually available and rarely overpriced(in fact that's also sometimes on sale). New subscriber here, actually new to the North Dallas Area too. So glad I found your video, new to Bourbon but loving it for someone who didn't drink almost never. Got a Buffalo Trace, Still Austin and Redwood Empire pipe dream. Looking foward to tasting more. Being looking for Eagle Rare and Old Forester King Ranch everywhere...... great video
Currently in my collection Daily: Makers 46 Mixer: EW BiB Friends: Eagle Rare Friday: Knob Creek 12 Special Occasion: Weller Full Proof or Bardstown Disco 8
Funny enough I just picked up Rare Breed for the first time. WILDLY impressed with the price for the burn. It's a close call with both the rare breed and the single barrel small batch knob.
Well im cheap so my daily drinkers/ favorites Knob Creek, Heavan Hill bib, Four Roses single batch, Turkey 101, and I save the fifth for my newest bottle of the week. It may be 1792, the Buff Trace when i can find it, Eagle rare, Turkey honey when I have a cold, ect. Just whatever hits for that week.
Daily drinker is Makers Mark, Mixer is Evan Williams BIB, Impress your friends would be Old Forester 1920, Friday night pour is Elijah Craig BP, and special occasion bottle is Blue Run High Rye
Love your picks. I have never had the BenchMark or E.H. Taylor. Surprised no one picked EW white label for cheap mixer or OF 100. I too absolutely love WT Rare Breed and unfortunately it is getting very hard to find in my area and prices are a lot more than $45 - $50. Don't worry I do not live in Dallas
Have you popped the Booker's yet? Daily- WT 101 MIXER- Old Grand dad 114 Impress - EH TAYLOR Single Barrel Friday- Barrell Vantage or Dovetail or #34 SPECIAL- STAGG or Four Gate Collaboration 5 (I have not tried the latter). I have not popped the cork yet.
Ok my cheap mixer is Even Williams bottle and bond , the next four are interchangeable depending on my mood, old forested 1920, Russell's Reserve Single barrel, wild Turk rear bread, and Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof.
Daily: Bearface (technically it is not a bourbon but a Canadian whiskey 100% corn and triple oak) Mixer: Evan Williams BiB Friends: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Friday Night: Balcones Baby Blue Special Occasion: Blanton's Original SB
Recently bought 1792 here in Melbourne, Australia and wasn’t a fan. Hard to find good bourbons down here. I’m in USA next week and will buy a couple and bring ‘em home….
Someone likes their Wild Turkey products. Curious if you have tried the OF1920. I actually prefer it to the Rare Breed. I would like to find the ECBF. I really like the ECSB.
Daily: Woodford double oaked Mixer: Buffalo Trace Impress the guest: Stagg jr Friday night: Blantons Special Occasions : George T Stagg ( yes, i have it)
That’s great.. it’s becoming harder to find here in Texas.. our largest liquor store hasn’t had it in over a month and say they may not get more until next month
#5 affordable drinker Wild Turkey 101 #4 mixer Old Grandad Bonded #3 Go to Rare Breed #2 Friday pour Rabbit Hole Sherry finished #1 Special E.H.Taylor small batch
If you want the ultimate daily drinker use 1792 and mix with pendelton 12 year 80 proof 100% rye. Two to one 1792 to pendelton. Puts it in high 80 proof and wow is it a slammer full of flavor and charector.
Daily: Rare Breed or New Riff Mixer: I was going to say Benchmark FP but I also have fond memories of JD- mostly from college though. Guest who actually likes bourbon: Old 55 BIB Friday night: Penelope Architect Special Occasion: Calumet 16, though I’ll just drink it on a random Tuesday. I would’ve said EC BP but I am not as excited about them as I used to be. Anyway I don’t believe in special occasion bourbon lol.
Daily: Early Times BIB Impress your friend: Wild Turkey 101 Mixer: Old Grand Dad 114 Friday Night: Old Forester 1920 Special Occasion Weller Antique 107
Daily drinker: JW Dant, bottled in bond; Friday night pour old granddad 114; mixer, Buffalo trace bourbon; impress your guest: Old Weller antique; special occasion poor: Russell reserve 15 year
Solid choices. Knob Creek is one of my all time favorites. Rare Breed is my next bottle I'm getting. But, here's my 5 (so far)... Daily drinker - Wild Turkey 101 Rye or 1792 Small Batch, Mixer - Evan Williams BIB, Impress your Friends - Knob Creek Rye, Friday Night Choice - Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Special Occasion - I honestly don't know. I haven't had too many high end bourbons that I would think of to save for that one rare time.
For me, one that wins a blind test might not be as good for the next two hours, so it is not just the best taste. So far, the Old Grand-Dad 100 proof and Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze or Juice Force IPA beers win for taste and the after effects.
Everyday Drinker....Early Times: Bottled In Bond......tasty and smooth for 100 proof....I dare you to try it in your blind tests....it fights really well beyond it weight class
Awesome show and pics! My list. Daily- wt 101 and or four roses small batch Mixer- EW Bible Friends- eagle rare/ OF 1920 Fri- rare breed/Russell's 10 year Special- EH Taylor
Daily Drinker - Lot B Cheap Mixer - Old Rip Friday Night - GTS Impress your Guests - Blantons - WHo doesn't love that bottle??!?! Special Occasion - WLW

The single barrel is awesome!
Love your reviews.

love your choices…., different picks than most on here
I try to keep rotating new bottles. Right now have jb7, emerald giant, Breckenridge weird cask, 13th colony.
Time to upgrade that table ! That wobble was making me nervous ! 😬
Being in Texas I’m surprised no Garrison Brothers picks?? They have so many good bourbons you can get.
Expensive and inconsistent
Still one of the top distilleries in Texas
I like your choices! I'm right there with you for a special occasion bottle...i have an EHT Rye I am waiting to open
very nice.. let me know how it is when you open it
It's crazy how bourbon distribution goes. I wish bourbon distribution was more balanced.

Thanks for watching…eagle rare will be tuff to find in Dallas area but there are some great bourbons out there
So what Bookers Batch is it? Another great video as always.

It’s so good
it’s tops on my list. i keep multi bottles so i don’t run out
Well im cheap so my daily drinkers/ favorites Knob Creek, Heavan Hill bib, Four Roses single batch, Turkey 101, and I save the fifth for my newest bottle of the week.
LOL… good… There are a few stores here that keep it on the shelf but most places are getting slim
Daily - glendronach 12, friends - glenallachie 15, friday - talisker 10, mixer - johnnie walker black label, special - glendronach 21 or talisker 18

What part of north Dallas? Im in Plano. Great video. Can’t complain about any of those picks.
We are in Little Elm
I only need 1 bottle of benchmark and I can turn it into basically anything
EH Taylor single barrel is hard to find in west texas ....
April, why did y’all like the Knob Creek over the 12 year expression? Less sweet?
I’m patting myself on the back because I said 4 of your guys’ choices as mine too! 😂 which batch of bookers is that?
we have 4 different batches
@@OneMoreBottle oh well excuse me 😂
Great show 👍
How do you buy online here in Texas? I haven't had any luck.
Also in North Dallas! Looking forward to picking up some EHT in KY this fall.
Thanks!
I’m just a bourbon and whiskey collector. What are 5 yall would recommend with cool bottles
Wt 101 is definitely my daily
EH Taylor SiB SP, Wild turkey Rare Breed, Maker's Mark 46 and Old Forester 1920 or Old Forester 1910..Wild Turkey 101 good for price
Recently bought 1792 here in Melbourne, Australia and wasn’t a fan. Hard to find good bourbons down here. I’m in USA next week and will buy a couple and bring ‘em home….

just went to the store here in NC and they had WT Rare in stock and say they always have it.
That’s great.. it’s becoming harder to find here in Texas.. our largest liquor store hasn’t had it in over a month and say they may not get more until next month
Go to liberty in pilot point to stock up on rare breed bourbon or rye they’ve got both fully stocked

If you want the ultimate daily drinker use 1792 and mix with pendelton 12 year 80 proof 100% rye. Two to one 1792 to pendelton. Puts it in high 80 proof and wow is it a slammer full of flavor and charector.
WT101--$22? Up here in Alberta its $60cad
Bought a case at coop last time I was in Airdrie, May/June, for low $30's

Guest who actually likes bourbon: Old 55 BIB
Friday night: Penelope Architect
Special Occasion: Calumet 16, though I’ll just drink it on a random Tuesday. I would’ve said EC BP but I am not as excited about them as I used to be. Anyway I don’t believe in special occasion bourbon lol.
Rare Breed 😘 is a great bourbon
Rare Breed or New Riff as a daily....I wish....you are either in an area where those are readily available or you have a little bit of deep pockets
@@curtboxley7678 I live about 20 minutes from New Riff in Ohio and I’ve seen rare breed around a lot in the last year.
@aprilbrown8081 well, too bad I don't live in Ohio....if I ever make it out that way...I will have to pick up a few bottles. Chees

Plenty of rare breed here lol
For me, one that wins a blind test might not be as good for the next two hours, so it is not just the best taste. So far, the Old Grand-Dad 100 proof and Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze or Juice Force IPA beers win for taste and the after effects.
Crack that Booker’s … if you like the Elijah Craig BP you will LOVE the bookers…
soon we will be opening it
@@OneMoreBottle …. Some of my favorites… I do not think you will be disappointed..
*too fancy
Everyday Drinker....Early Times: Bottled In Bond......tasty and smooth for 100 proof....I dare you to try it in your blind tests....it fights really well beyond it weight class
