Finally getting time to catch up on all the videos that I’ve been wanting to watch. This was a great one! Preparations for hurricane season, or any emergency is so important and most people don’t even take the time to think about it.

A preparedness tip: if the power is out and you know it will be a few days at least before it is restored, cook everything perishable. If there is a lot of food, take some to elderly neighbors. My aunt had just stocked her freezer when Hurricane Wilma paid the complex a visit. Everyone around them cooked their perishabled and all kept the neighborhood fed until help arrived.
That is a great idea and I love it when communities can come together and help one another out. During Hurricane Ike, neighbors were without power for a week. We were all out front with our grills feeding each other with a huge block party. Kids were off electronics and playing games and getting back to nature. Definitely one of those make lemonade out of lemon stories.

I'm so glad you are here! Bless you for all you do for homeless dogs and cats. There are so many that need our help. I did upload a video after this one about how I made the homemade dog and cat food but it was one of those videos the algorithms didn't recognize I guess. It hardly got any views. Here in our very small rural area of eastern Kentucky.. the power goes out if a cow pees in the creek.. and we bought a big generator that has been a lifesaver literally… we got it at harbor freight for around 500$ .. and if you can get a generac theyre awesome my cousin had one that runs his huge house with propane and the best part it doesn’t take much propane to run it..
I agree with you on one of those home generators but since we plan on moving in a couple of years, we aren't sure if it would be worth the investment. We do have a few mid size generators that we can run everything but the central air. We can run portable fans and window units. It's just a hassle getting those out if the outages are short term. They are usually short term but just happen so frequently lately. You are so blessed to live in rural Kentucky. That sounds like a dream. We have our eyes on east Tennessee but are open to any areas with mountains and streams. Our next home will definitely have one of those home generators. 🥰

What a blessing you are by helping others out with food during power outages. 🍱🍞🥔 You're right, we should try to be as fit and healthy as possible and do what's best for our circumstances and health needs. 💪 I want to be able to get out of dodge as easy as possible, if need be, too. Hi Rachael! Thank you. This was definitely a trying month. Now they are talking about with all the mosquitoes because of flooding, one has now tested positive for West Nile Virus. I actually called that one a few weeks ago because we have a ton of mosquitoes this year. Crazy times but still too blessed to stress. Hope you are well.🥰
@@kellispreppingkitchen Not sure if they have nile here but I wouldn't be surprised I think it is almost everywhere now. Or so it seems. I know we have mosquitoes here hubby got at up last week on his legs we put some tea tree spray and Aveeno hydrocortisone on him and that helped.
Keep safe you all! We had a bit of overland flooding here too. So far the power is holding up👍 Yes keeping in shape to be able to boogie in any situation. Walking stretching and weights! Sauna sounds like heaven!!
