    Finally a man who understand the beauty of that XC lens. I use it on a XT30 to keep in the car for my just everyday "carry" you know in case I see something I want to take a snap of on my commute

    I think there's a bit of sample variation in the 10-24mm lenses. The one I have is decent on the 40 mp sensors. I'm also running the 70-300mm and it's an excellent lightweight tele option and does resolve the 40mp's quite nicely. I only added it a few months ago but it has produced portfolio images already. I'm very pleased with that one. I think I may add the 16-50mm because my 18-55 is just OK at 40 mp's. Or the 33mm. Spoilt for choice. 🙂

    Excellent video. The differences between FF and APS-C are not as dramatic as many think, and your analysis demonstrates that. I would only add that the differences become more apparent when you push the envelope even further; so for example at ISO 6400+, you will see important differences, particularly if you downsample, where the FF file will hold together better.

    I'm getting tempted by the Viltrox 13mm to replace my 10-24mm as I'm finding it soft in the corners at 10mm plus the Viltrox is an excellent Astro lens. I already own the 16-55mm lens and it's permanently attached to one of my bodies. It's a fantastic lens even wide open. Have you seen the Viltrox 75mm f1.2? It looks like a fantastic portrait lens with gorgeous bokeh. It'd be great for wedding photography 😊

    Ian, just joined the clubhouse! For as much as I watch your videos, it’s the least I can do to support the channel. One question, did you try the Tamron 17-70 before you purchased the 16-55? I just bought the Tammy and it is so much lighter and takes amazing images.

    • @ian_worth
      @ian_worth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for joining Rob, its very much appreciated. I did consider the Tamron but in the end opted for the fuji. I wouldn't mind giving it a try at some point though as I've heard good things about it. You still have time to enter the season one gallery. Nice video. What brand is the bracket on the bottom. I like how you attached the plate on the side to make an l-bracket. Seems like this is a lot lighter weight option to the traditional l-brackets.

  • @DigiDriftZone

    I also switched from the 18-55 to the 15-45 for vlogging, selfies, etc - so do you carry 2 tripods with you? - fantastic video, I want to go outside and take some photos now!
    Small tip, you seem to have exposure stepping as you zoom, I believe if you upgrade the firmware on the camera, that should reduce it.

    Agree with others, those rock textures and the abstract pattern in the sand, wow! Actually all that you inserted were beautiful. You should offer them to Fuji to promote the lenses you took them with. I’m a former Fuji owner, but your work makes me second guess my decision. ;-)

    Concerning the standard-zoom equipment I see no advantage of APS-C compared to full frame: My Nikon Z6 (24MP) with the outstanding and extremely versatile Z 24-120mm F4 S weights 1305 grams, and yours Fuji X-H2 with the Fujinon 16-55mm F2.8 lens weights 1315 grams .
    If I take the Nikon Z7II I get even more reach with this standard combination: From 24 to 120mm I get 46MP, and above 120mm I can shoot in DX- mode, which gives me the reach of a 120-180mm lens with 20MP, what is still enough for most purposes.
    So what? I can't see the argument for APS-C, except perhaps in the very long telephoto-range.

    • @erikfarkas7868
      @erikfarkas7868 ปีที่แล้ว

      i guess for landscape you can have more depth of field on aps-c that could make processing images faster. But i agree, when you take these 2.8 zooms, there is not much difference. However, taking into context the time when they were made, most people were shooting huge DSLR bodies with equivalently large lenses. These DSLRs made the fuji lenses look quite small. That is not the reality anymore as many people moved to mirorless and so did the technology move on and here we are: both the 16-55 and 50-140 are great, but old. Newer lens designs clearly show us that they can be both great IQ and small. Fuji probably just need to update these.
      For this reason exactly i shoot only with primes. I wanted something smaller and great quality. Laowa 9mm, fuji 23mm f/2 and fuji 56mm f/1.2 make my kit now and are very versatile lenses in their own right. With my X-T2 they fit into a small bag that i can strap to my backpack or belt to have on hand for changing lenses. :)

    Sorry, but I can't figure out from your link the specific set of ND filters that you purchased. All of the choices seemed very expensive, but I'm sure worth it for your work.
    Hopefully, the set includes step-up adapter rings so that they can be used on lenses of various sizes. Thanks.

      @hpaula1946 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ian_worth Thanks you Ian!
      Since my largest lens diameter is 77mm, should I be getting the 82mm?
      Also, the magnetic cap that comes with the set, can it sit on the step-up rings if there is no ND filter mounted on top, or do I have to unscrew the step-up ring to go back to my original lens cap. Lastly, I'm waiting for Fedex to deliver my X-H2 today, and I'm having 2nd thoughts --- I know that it will have better auto focus than my X-T4, but not better low light performance, and I take a lot of indoor pictures with the grandkids, and prefer not to use flash. Also, with having owned an X-T2 and X-T3, the learning curve will be a challenge, as I'm not planning to sell my X-T4. I was very tempted to get an X-T5, but thought that for the extra $300 I was getting a sufficiently big upgrade in getting the X-H2.
