The windows were not supposed to evaporate, even if you put a kettle with boiling water inside. Unfortunately, the car did not catch on well and it was the only attempt to create a premium class limousine from VW. All in all, and why if they have an Audi A 8 for it PS or these vent plugs, They are supposed to heat up and be something like a radiator :) PS 2 in my opinion, the ideal engine for this car is the W 12

They‘re amazing cars. The early versions are not the best but the later models solved those problems. The car is a class on its own and i love it. Even tho working on them in the Workshop is terrible because they are old and not taken care of

I can say from experience that this Phaeton is much more comfortable and much more quiet than the Mercedes S Class from the same generation. For me the Car is like a driveble Spa couch
A8 is driver car and Phaeton is only for luxury drive very isolated and quiet,but very,very heavy and is not for any kind of twisty roads.Only for Autobahn and relax.But impressive car anyway.I'm for a8 always,but phaeton is very very good.Sorry for my English 😊
They should have just given the Audi A8 these treatments and it would have sold well. VW is supposed to be the budget friendly sensible vehicle, not a luxury car to keep up with BMW or Mercedes.
Pretty nice. Back then, these were in the Europcar pool. Once got one for a short drive. Used, these cars were dirt cheap. Gonna look up what's on the market ATM.
In Poland we call it "ulep" you have rear lights two before 2007 and two after 2007(in mid of 2007 tail lights become more dark and on roof there are a little antena so car is before 2007)

Your left turn indicator was damaged, that's why the speed is faster (good visible at 3:04). But the car itself is very nice. I loved it till I saw: It's not much more then a very big Passat.
For a car of this caliber, the suspension was a bit stiff. A matter of taste, no doubt. And the engine sounded like it could use some repair (hydraulic valves worn).
They're all automatic so by the sounds of it, the engine and gearbox are shot. Syncro brake bands worn , it over revved a few times and that knock sounds like a hefty bill is around the corner
IMO the v8 is the one to have, compared to the V6 petrol it has almost the same fuel consumption, compared to the W12 it’s easier to maintain, and cheaper, and the tdi engines are…well…vw

Most people don't like or don't care about this car, and I understand they'd rather go for the A8, because of the status of the Audi brand.

On very early ones, horrible.... 1500 for each shocker system, and you couldn't replace just one. Headlights failed and cost a mint...etc etc....
