Pulpitis is considered one of the most common causes of pain in the oral cavity. It can be divided into reversible and irreversible pulpitis. in reversible pulpitis the tooth reacts to a stimulus only. The tooth resolves all of a sudden with the removal of the stimulus. However in irreversible pulpitis the tooth becomes symptomatic with or without a stimulus.

I’m notA if I have this, but on my right side when I sneeze sometimes and I’m not paying attention to how I’m sneezing, I bite down when I sneeze and it hurts very bad. I get a shooting pain all the way up to my temple.

How the tooth with pulpitis responds for electric pulp testing

Electric pulp testing tells you about the vitality of a tooth and not about if it’s inflamed or not. Vital teeth (normal pulp or inflamed) will give a low reading. Necrotic pulps however will give a high reading.
