My daughter is targeting MS Finance at UT in Austin. She is a senior at McCombs in Undergrad and graduating in May this year. She has also applied to UTD, TAMU, UNT, SMU.
@@Galbra1th She thinks a graduate degree gives her a head start compared to just an undergrad, She got admitted into SMU for MFin program starting this fall.
Believe me, coming from a non-target school (Stevens Institute of Technology), people have no idea how difficult it is lol. At the end of the day, some people have an easier path than others which is completely fine!
How was stevens? i want to go, their business seems worth it! not even worried about getting into investment banking as much as securing a well paying job that I'm happy with and don't feel ridiculously overworked, but then again being an investment banker would be nice
I got into Indiana University, Rutgers, and Penn State for finance which one do u think is the best excluding the price but mainly on the education and future job opportunities
I think IU if you got into Kelley creates the best opportunities in finance. Penn State also has some great pipelines to Wall Street. I would say it would be between these two!
is there anyway to add a prestige factor, you might get, Harvard Columbia Wharton Dyson Stern Georgetown Duke University of Michigan University of Virginia
Hey Cameron , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
I don't think its proximity to Dallas / SMU really makes much of a difference in this scenario.. I think TCU is still a good school, but certainly has more of the Texas banking connections than NYC.
@@krishpandey10 hey, funny i was holding my phone. I’d say it’s definitely possible as I have seen & know a lot of international students got job offers. If you try hard, it’s pretty likely ur gonna get an internship offer during undergraduate years, and hopefully a return full time offer after graduation. It’s still a tough process that requires lots of effort, like networking and joining school programs to boost ur resume & experience & have high gpa. I believe tcu gives a lot of scholarship & financial aid to international students as well. Lemme know if u have any question
@@papihuey do you personally know any such students? I'm really worried because after graduating from a non stem field like finance students only get a one year period called opt to work in the states. Do students normally continue to work in usa after that or look for jobs in other countries?
Im in the middle of choosing between colleges and I am majoring in finance. Im in between Purdue and University at buffalo. I live in NY so Buff is cheaper and more convienant in every way, but is the worser school. Purdue is a way better ranked school but more expensive, nicer and inconvienant for me to get home. I honestly have no idea which the pick I am fine with both options one or the other. Please help!!! Thank you
At the end of the day I’d say to pick the option that minimizes regrets in the long run. Neither are finance target schools, so I would worry less about the “prestige” of the school and more so on what the experience on campus and the network of alumni looks like.
Hey brother iam planning for my master's in finance in usa , but confused to select univercity under minimum budget pls do help i ve completed my bachelor in (BFM) bachalo in financial markets.. please suggest me any univercity and cources whixh should i pick
Hello there,i have a question.I’m from little country and will get a double diploma of local university and also mid polish/weak german university in business administration or economics, still haven’t decided. Will i be able to enroll in strong major programme and then get a job on wall street?or if your bachelor’s programme is weak, then you’re done?
I think anything is possible! Landing a stronger degree would help you in the process though. It also would be much easier to join a US company in your home county and then doing an internal transfer to the U.S., instead of directly applying for NYC based roles now.
What do you think of a Master of finance at Fordham university? I have been accepted, I have also been accepted to Boston university for MS in finance? What would you advise? Should continue to apply for other schools?
There’s still plenty of roles for graduates, but the traditional pipeline is through an undergrad internship / offer straight out of school. Open roles for grads are a bit more random, but as an undergrad you will typically join with a big class of people.

Penn State has a crazy presence in NYC. I know a lot of people in banking / consulting in NYC that went to PSU, so it clearly has a very strong network and pipeline. I think the school also is a lot of fun and gives you the best of both worlds with respect to college experience and academics.
