    I'd solder a filtering cap of 0.1 uF across those motor terminals, these motors generate a lot of noise. I've ordered a diff and a gearbox to convert a 1:16 Bruder truck for my boys, used lithium grease, works the trick. I like the way you do your videos, well done, keep them coming!!!

    Hi and thank you for sharing, Got one of these today but..... box was mangled, front axle smashed, bonnet hinges broken off... opted for a currier delivery but dint get much in return... i looked around this thing and I suppose i've to upgrade since I've to get spares anyway. the 20A esc is a bit of a overkill for this but grease in the diffs is a great idea. I've got transmission and diffs for the WLtoys 4x4, for a Bruder conversion I did for my boys old trucks and seems its a straight forward replacement. Nice videos, keep them coming

      @TomleyRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers dude. Shame about the package! I've had a few turn up, but none completely broken. In fact, this one turned up with a wheel off...it had broke at the end of the axle. A bit of glue fixed it though 👍 Thanks for watching

      @@TomleyRC Amazing what you can do these days. We are spoiled for choice now. Them WPL gearboxes and diffs are so handy, I managed to get my boys 1:16 Bruder and Dickie trucks going RC, even with the 130 motor that thing does move, even pulls a home made trailer with one of our RC boats on it. I'm working on the lights and sound now, also built an Arduino 7 channel remote controller and receiver.. Mighty fun at home, the dog goes bananas chasing the trucks, my wife is with constant headache. Not sure who has more fun, daddy or the kids :-D

    Hi. I recently bought such truck. It looks cool. In the future I want to convert it into a functional offroad dump truck, because those Huina dump trucks are kinda lame IMO. Anyways... How about the full metal 2 speed gearbox with 370 motor? I'm interested mostly in slow, but full of torque crawling, using winch etc.

    In real off road trucks. They weld the spider gears in the diff to create a locker. Do the axles on this have spider gears? If so glue them together. That will create a locker.

    @chummyboy5380 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really enjoy your vids! I'm wondering if it may work to glue those internal diff gears.-If, as you said, a person would rather not spend $ on axle upgrades. I think I'll try that on mine when it FINALLY gets here :-) Just a thought. Thanks for all the good info. Keep up the good work!

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    steering link: press a round neoprene/rubber servo grommet into the upper end of the link (it'll flange to both sides pretty proper). then put a brass/bronze metal grommet into the rubber, its single flange at back to go against servo arm. use a typical longer servo mounting screw through all for attaching (trim the end or don't, if it doesn't bang into the tray badly), instant nice no slop connection at the servo. lol.. all spelled out, as seen on Gabriel Silvaz channel and done myself, it's like perfect.
    edit: open diffs like those (but larger) we used to pack full with Vaseline is even thicker stuff for its limited slip action, easy cheap available, may do more and stay put too. another "oh hey", pair of 18650 cells in series runs these things pretty nice and long with 7.4v and typical/real 2-3000mah capacity. run my C24 (dual N30 gear motors) with pair of 14500 (AA size) lithium ions about 1000mah, for convenience. they behave like most batteries, strong until about 80% depleted, runs "forever".

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rubber grommet is my usual trick, but on this one it needs to move with the suspension as the arm is not the same as the normal ones, and the rubber one I first tried was gripping to the arm to much. I run my N30 Dual motor C14 on a small 1500mah Lipo 👍Run time is massive!...

    Great video. Thanks for the effort. I've been thinking about getting one of these to do just this. The body alone seems almost worth it. Is it really necessary to upgrade the motor as well? I think I would try just locking one or both of the rear axles only, and leave the front with grease. Your could retain better turning circle and have great grip. I can't say since I've never had one of these, but might be worth a try.

    Perhaps a small amount of weight in the truck's bed would help with keeping all the wheels in ground contact, and provide better traction. If it does leak on gear side you could make it gasket out of cardboard. Hard cardboard like you get off a notebook. And that would probably work on that side or even ATV gasket Medicare gasket seal. Anybody you know who's got a dirt bike or anything or motorcycle will have it in their garage need about size of a pea to do that. And if it leaks out the other side you just have to try to find o-ring small enough. You can probably pull one out of an old piece of shit shock off of 10 scale truck probably work fine. Can't decide should I get the Toyota or the military truck with the single axle.
