    I found this after I completed the second set of upgrades on mine, I used the batteries, esc, remote, and servo from an axial scx24 as well as extensions for the servo and motor wires. The main problem with mine was that I had to both cut and reshape the tray that originally held the servo, I did this so that I could use the stock mounting bracket of the servo. I also sacrificed a servo extension wire for the lights to function. I also super glued my tires and wheels together to stop the wheels from slipping inside of the tires, this system worked fantastic for me, and it was pretty fast, but I was annoyed that it was down on power and not that capable bc of the open differentials. I then got, two big scx24 batteries, a 370 motor, 2 speed transmission, metal drive shafts, and portal axels off of amazon. Because the scx24 remote/esc has an aux port I was able to shift the transmission and drive with one remote. After driving it around for 20 minutes a tire fell off, (Quick side note, all scx24s exept for the gladiator can fit in the bed of the q60), the tire fell off bc I didn't put lock tight on the screws holding the tires on (they now screw into metal). That night I only lock tighted one wheel, and when I came back to it the next day the wheel had imploded, so now round THREEEE of upgrades, now including dually metal wheels (It is cheeper to buy TWO sets of duallies for 4wd trucks than one for 6wd ones), stronger servo and new metal front and rear bumpers. If you do this CUT SLOTS IN THE HOOD so the esc doesn't overheat.

    In this video, the JJRC Q60 is upgraded with a WPL B36 motor and gearbox, steering servo and a DIY 2.4GHz Arduino remote. If you like this video, give us a thumbs up and subscribe. This helps a lot. Thanks, guys!

    I recently bought such truck... And yes it surely needs some mods. When it comes to mechanics it's a no problem for me, but the electronics... Oh damn, I'm confused on what to use, what will work and what won't. I have a plan to fit proportional steering and throttle, 370 engine, V3 sound system, servo operated 2 speed gearbox, winch and linear actuator for a dump truck conversion... All of it requires appropriate electronics to work, but I don't know which transmitter and receiver to use. I don't know which ESC should I use... I'm clueless. I'd kindly appreciate if You could help me.

    Nice one!!! Funny, we buy 25euro truck and spend at least another 50 on upgrades. I'm doing exactly the same but unlike you I'm using a stock receiver. The choice these days is amazing. I managed to get a Bruder Actross RC going for my boys using Wpl diff and gearbox from 4x4 truck. Even with the 130 motor the thing really moves and even pulls a home made semi trailer, also made from whatever we have at home. Keep them videos coming, love the channel. Cheers!!

      Thanks for the praise. That's how business works: sell the vehicles for cheap and earn the money with expensive upgrades ;-)
      No, I think there WPL vehicles are great an worth the price.

    Hi! I also have a jjrc q60 and was thinking of upgrading the battery to a 7.4v lipo one. But most of the batteries Im finding online are coming with plugs which wont fit on a jjrc, so my question is can I cut off those plugs and solder a jjrc type battery plug on those batteries? Please help me out on this!

      Hi. I made an adapter cable from JJRC plug to JST standard plug. So I can use the original battery or a 2S LiPo and connect it to the new 10A ESC. Have a look at the links in the description.

    Wow that's awesome man. Bought one of these and its cool, but really needs the upgrades. Seeing that this is 2 years old, would you do anything different now for proportional steering and speed control with all thats available for it? Plus I see there is all kinds of metal parts for it, do you have recommendations you would do if starting again? Sorry for newb questions but this will be my first modifying of any RC vehicle. Thanks for the inspiration!

      Thanks. I prefer vehicles with realistic sound, light and inertia simulation. So I always use my DIY sound and light controller if possible: th-cam.com/video/YK1mGlFMNSI/w-d-xo.html

    I see you didn't use any esc. Is it always necessary to use esc? Also wanted to ask, if I plug the connector wrongly, is there a chance of the receiver getting fried?

    • @TheDIYGuy999
      @TheDIYGuy999 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the first test I used the TB6612FNG motor driver of my DIY Arduino receiver, but it is not able to supply enough current. So I decided to use a 10A brushed ESC at 3:20. The link is in the description. I never fried a receiver so far by connecting a servo the wrong way around, but connecting the supply voltage the wrong way around could fry the DIY receiver, because there is no protection

    Whats the benefit of putting resistors on led connections? Will it do any harm if I dont put resistors? Please dont mind me asking like this as Im learning step by step from your video and is about to upgrade mine.

    • @TheDIYGuy999
      @TheDIYGuy999 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, LED always need a current limiting resistor. See: ledcalc.com

    Oh, NO!!! I can't see this again!!!
    It's so amazingly!!! It's perfect!!!
    I have a question. That better to use, speed controller or tb6612fng?

    • @TheDIYGuy999
      @TheDIYGuy999 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Use a proper ESC. The 180 motor is too big for the TB6612FNG, because its internal resistance is only about 1 Ohm. So the current is up to 8.4A at 8.4V supply voltage.

      What do you mean with bridges? The truck bed? I think WPL is better in general. But WPL upgrade parts are compatible with this JJRC truck
