Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Grace Slick, Melissa Ethridge, Chrissy Hynde… The list of fierce women rockstars who laid the foundation goes on!!❤️🔥
The difference between a "Rockstar" wardrobe and a "Rockstar girlfriend " wardrobe is the ability to move on stage. I feel like the tight mini skirts are girlfriend. Longer skirts, stretchy skirts, and dresses and pants are much more movable. Even if you go back to Courtney Love, none of her dresses were tight. They allowed her to move. So yeah, more pants please. Edited to add: things look fancy on you because your hair and makeup are so pretty and perfect. Tease and mess up your hair. Smear your lipstick. Things won't look so posh on you.😊
I can't believe I'm just seeing this video. You really figured out that plaid skirt with #7. My favorites were #1, #7 and #17, but they were all very well thought out! Also I wanted to casually toss Karen O into honorable mentions. Say hi to your cat for me please!
I am actually a rockstar and im a girl. I play guitar and do vocals in my band. I love that you said it’s 2024 we can be the rockstars. I’ve Ben thinking that this whole time
@@yippeee-gk7kq we haven’t posted our music anywhere and our drummer dropped out sadly but we will be picking it back up soon hopefully but I’ll keep you updated and let you know if we start posting :)
Loved everything about this, starting with the aesthetic reattribution!! ROCKSTAR INDEED! This was great - I've been heavily influenced by Debbie Harry era rockers, and had a blast watching this. THANK YOU!
LOVE THESE HAHA, this is def close to my personal style generally speaking!! admittedly im a lil more masc but i get a lot of inspiration from yeah like, debbie harry, joan jett, david bowie, marc bolan, i wanna say lou reed but im not tootoo sure, CERTAINLY 60s glam though (watch velvet goldmine basically) and then also a lot of gothy things as far as layers go, with punk i started making battle jackets and otherwise painting/putting patches and pins all over things, embroidering, repurposing, so on
I love the way you format your videos! I might start making some thrifted punk/whimsical fashion videos, and you’re a huge inspiration. Florence + the Machine gives me a lot of style inspo (not rock, but still music-inspired)
I was thinking of how much you reminded me of Haley Williams the whole video, then you threw on the paramore shirt haha. Thanks for sharing! You have an incredible eye for pairing pieces.
I think I have an idea of why the Courtney Love inspired dress outfit didn't feel quite right, I think it has a lot to do with the hair and makeup which as you mentioned plays a very important part. If you notice pictures of Courtney Love in the 90s the hair is usually worn down and disheveled and the makeup wasn't perfect. Maybe experiment with that and you might be surprised 😊. I love your look books by the way ❤️
I love nana should do a lookkbook video for nana I love nirvana green day Joan Jett any alternative subculture nana is one of my favorites and avirl L I grow up listening and looking up Pics of anything alternative subculture music fashion and more I relate to because it is something different like me ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely loved all the outfits, and yes, women have been rockstars for decades, we don't need to just be the gf!

Oh, and maybe folk rock doesn’t fit this look, but the Indigo Girls (Amy Ray & Emily Saliers) are total ICONS!!! Fierce and bad@ss!!
❤️🔥🎸🏳️🌈
The Wilson sisters from Heart too!! Love them 🫶🏼
Also Janis Joplin and Poly Styrene and just in general the other women from the early punk scene
Courtney Love, Nina Hagen, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon, PJ Harvey, Brody Dalle... The list goes on and on, women are rock stars!!

Love it! So great! My rockstar influences are: Sleater Kinney, Dorothy, New Year’s Day, and Le Tigre! 🖤🖤🖤
I always interpreted it as "she's a rockstar and also my/a girlfriend"
Doesnt rockstar girlfriend mean girlfriend whos a rockstar because otherwise itd be Rockstar's girlfriend
Thank u ❤
