    Just say, "NO!" to exotic animal bans. Responsibility and Regulations are key- bans are NOT!

    PLUS these animals have been illegal to import into the US for around a decade all of the ones here have come from many captive bred generations & are not be taken directly from the wild & put into homes. Just like with domestic cats who are pets if cats were born feral they would not make good pets yet when we raise these genets from babies they really enjoy their human companions they bond too the same way dogs & cats do. I just don't see how that is WRONG? Who made the rules of wrong/right?

    no she does not bite down on us only places her mouth around us. It is her way of playing. However when she grips us with her claws that can be uncomfortable but she is not doing it to be mean.

    like they do with anyone who keeps ANY exotic animals regardless if that animals is content and thriving in someones home. Our animals get lots of attention, food, water, a warm place to sleep, coolness in the summer, protection from predators and disease and overall enrich our own lives. We want to protect their species in the wild and so few people know who they are by posting videos it grows peoples minds about them and maybe in the long run will help protect them from hunters

    Beautiful animals, do you still have any? How active are they? I read a study that said at least in the wild they're only heavily active 3 hours on average and spend the rest of the day and night hiding out, has that been your experience? Like really spazzy and then sleeps hard like ferrets, or more on par with cats? Your pets are clearly healthy and well cared for, thank you for spreading the love ☺

    In France, the genet is a common wild animal. BUT, in the past, it was used to hunt mice and rats before the arrival of the cats who supplanted the genet.
    So the genet truly is a very good pet.
    Unfortunately, the genet is actually a protected species in France, in spite of its large population.

    I can completely understand and respect if that is ultimately the way you feel. However you also have to understand sometimes things are not always the way you think they should be or opinions. I do not "think" large dogs should be kept in apartments with owners who have very little time for them such as Husky dogs. They have such breed specific drives in them yet they are confined to these small apartments and it is maybe frowned upon but nobody outcrys it publicly as cruel to the animal

    This animal, to me, greatly represents a mix between a wildcat and a ferret!

    You are doing a good job. You don't want to encourage play biting in anyway with this animal.

    People are so quick to comment on things they know nothing about. Cats and dogs were wild animals too at one point! . There are so many irresponsible owners of them yet you have no issues with them. What about people who work all days long and keep a dog in an apartment?? Is that not cruel to an animal? Owners of exotics pets are totally committed to keeping them healthy and happy and loved just like any pet should be. I would own an exotic species over any dog any day.

    I am interested in owning one of these lovely creatures someday, so I hope you won't my myriad of questions: where did you buy her? Do you keep her in a cage and if so, how large is the cage? Are they expensive to keep and maintain and do they need a lot of special care or attention?

    Thank you. Most exotic animal owners we have networked with are amazing people who share their time and love with various species. They do not own these animals, these animals own them! It's a beautiful relationship!

    Hi! :) My boyfriend and I are thinking of adopting a Genet and I was wondering if you could help me answer some questions. 1) he is very allergic to cats and dogs, would he possibly be allergic to the genet? 2) We live in Arizona USA, where is the best most reliable place to adopt the genet from?

    • @JessicaScarlett
      @JessicaScarlett  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately if he is allergic to dogs and cats he would definitely be allergic to genets. They also put off a strong musk odor when they hit maturity around 2 years old where they mark and spray. Even females mark and put off the odor. Much like ferrets do. There are not very many left in the United States or people breeding them anymore so it is really difficult to find them now.

    Are we not supposed to love her? She is not from the wild. She is from many captive bred generations and is extremely people friendly. She is MUCH friendly than my neighbors dog which is extremely stranger aggressive and could easily hurt someone if he ever got out. Why not worry about the problem cats and dogs before worrying about exotic animals that are being loved in GOOD homes.
