Full replay from the Wembley Arena as China's Chen Long defeats Korea's Lee Hyun Il to win the men's badminton singles bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games (5 August 2012).
Badminton made its debut as a demonstration sport at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. It was not until the 1992 Games in Barcelona that it was officially included on the Olympic programme, with men's and women's singles and doubles events. The mixed doubles event made its debut in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympic Games. Since then, the number of events has remained unchanged.

Why does it always seem like the Korean get an advantage over poor judgement by the umpire and line judges ? 35:15 the shuttle was completely on his side and then the shot immediately after where the stupid line judge thought it was in. First Lin Dan, now Chen Long. What's with the Koreans ...

@@alexkwan959 they're not that fast now. No one is as fast as the 4 Kings in their glory days. Except I'll give Ginting points for being the fastest of this era. All the others are much slower.
@@upy0ur5 Not that fast? Just focus on the shuttle speed that says it all. Every year there's been slight improvement in the sport and in 2018 is the massive change in pace I realised watching Momota and Ginting. Trust me they are way faster now. Even Lin Dan had to improve his speed and you can see in 2019 he's way faster than the 2004 Lin Dan. Of course he wasn't explosive in 2019 but the smoothness and speed is way faster...
