Really appreciate you setting out the safety of the shoot. Some very accurate shooting there Denny. To stop damage to the trap use plumbers putty in it works a treat and cuts down on the noise.
Yes indeed me & Tom always put safety at the forefront of all our shooting! Thanks for the tip I will defiantly get some and put it in the stops! Nice one mate & thanks for watching and commenting with your input. 👌🏻
I have not tried any of the RTX pellets myself, must get round to doing so at some point. There is just so much to take into consideration when doing this, and I guess it depends just how much accuracy you want from your setup. A group of 5 shots of each pellet doesn't seem much in my opinion, but of course more shots requires more pellets and more time. But swapping between different lead alloys can be an issue, especially when going from a harder pellet to a softer pellet. Fair play to the both of you for taking the time to do this and video it.
I am a big fan of QYS 9.56gr for hunting too. The performance in a breeze is much better than JSB exact 8.44gr, although the JSB group brilliantly indoors. I expect the RTX will show a similar pattern of being outperformed by heavier pellets outdoors. Great test - thanks.
Defiantly it’s about experimenting mate stepping out your comfort zone and trying something new! Them RTX mediums were unreal at 30m I’m going to see what there like at 40/50m hopefully they’ll group well. Thanks for watching as always Steve 🤛🏼
Great video would be interested to see how they group in the vixen,I know all will be different in each vixen ect, that corridor looks like the old student digs I fitted out years ago by paddy’s wigwam 👍
Nice video. Personally I found testing different brands of pellets really messed up the accuracy. My rifle required a regular pull through during testing as the different lead compounds were leaving a film of muck that was affecting the accuracy of other pellets. In my own experience, this testing requires a windless environment, cleaning between switching pellets/leading in and testing at a set pressure. It's exhaustive. Then after that, weighing and sorting reduces flyers significantly, but only a competition shooter needs to go to these lengths. Polishing the barrel with autosol as per sub12airgunners directions really makes a positive difference to accuracy, drastically reducing the number of shots needed to lead in and increasing time between barrel cleans. Nice one.
@Ratsinthereticles Personally I bought a carbon fibre Tipton cleaning rod, brass jag and both nylon and cotton cleaning mops in .17 cal from brownells. Quite expensive but a brilliant bit of kit to have. I imagine the bootlace method to be plenty good enough👍🏻 th-cam.com/video/J1IgevraRbQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ssi7YeZcaJpStUuy
2nd on this comment, each brand needs the same state of fouling 👍🏻 if it was me I would clean out the bore ,then 10 shots of the pellets being tested as fouling shots then a 5 round group as the test ,it's a lot of messing around but the most accurate, we also used a online group tool ,as you will be surprised what a 10th of an inch will do to 2 ppl running a comp ,but this is your test your rules Denny ,look forwards to the next one 😊
interesting indeed . now funny enough i use qys but find i do get the odd flyer plus the 8.4 odd always come in weighing much more like 9 grain not that it matters tee wright is always consistent. but i did notice you were getting the odd flyer in the qys . when i say flyer i don’t mean way off but as a target shooter for me its tge difference between a 9 and 10 . those brazil pellets look promising . what always amazes me is how much difference a pellet can make .one make you think man i can’t shoot for shite . then you try another brand and you think your tge american sniper 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indeed Paul that’s what it’s all about mate stepping out your comfort zone and trying something new! As airgunner we should never become complacent with out pellet choice and keep trying new ones as you never know what happens until you try! Looking forward to the .22 test coming very soon. Thanks for watching mate and getting involved in the comments.
RTX Rifle are complete and utter garbage in nearly all my rifles, i bought 5 tins after watching Tilly Gunstock 😅 I bought the wrong ones 😂😂 Great video really enjoyed that👍
