Thanks for another helpful and honest review - just picked up my Safari in .22 today from Premier Guns in Doveridge - your other reviews were a big influence in my decision to go with Daystate rather the HW100 KT Lam (my go to brand) which I had my eye on - was able to check them both out side and the points you made were clear to see - I am also a lefty so have switched the cocking lever over to the left hand side (fairly easy to do ) Weihrauch XL-K moderator fitted all scoped up and ready to go - just need some decent weather - this is my first PCP (I have several Weihrauch springers - all more accurate than the owner) and am looking forward to seeing if it makes me a better shot! BTW - I did not experienced any problems with pellets not going fully into the magazine (JSB EXACT JUMBO RS 5.52) when I loaded - so it may be the issue you pointed out issue is more specific to .177? Thanks again & keep up the good work.....
Hi Denny, i have Revere and i can honestly say its definitely a keeper, as accurate as anything out there and not really pellet fussy, i have the one piece walnut stock, the floating barrel does feel like its loose and the rifle feels flimsy when you say tap the stock with your hand, this is perfect normal, at first i thought my rifle was missing something??? But no, 2 of my friends bought them after shooting mine and theirs are exactly the same, and you just demonstrated exactly what im trying to say, you know when you own or have used one. Trigger is sublime and the rifle is dependable. You can do loads of reviews or opinions on most rifles so don't worry about grabbing it again and letting us know how you feel about it. Ohh and check that magazine still has a tiny pin each side of the hinged gate.
Heyup Denny, one of the most practical robust pcp for hunting I've known, consistent enough to give confident results, great content buddy, cheers, Jon 👍Hawkes eye TV 👍😁
The revere name comes from Paul Revere who, during the American War for Independence, came galloping in to inform the troops that ‘the British’ were coming, and given Daystate’s presence in the American market
Cheers, Denny! You should definitely check out CARM magazines-they’re leagues ahead of the rattling OEM ones and cost only a third of the price. Plus, they’ve got a smaller version, perfect if you want to use lower scope mounts. As for the Safari finish, it’s done by raising the wood grain on the bare stock with a bit of water and skipping the sanding. That rough texture is then treated with stain and finish-quite unique, really! My Revere is FAC-rated, but it only manages 10 shots rather than 10 magazines, haha. Don’t take it out too often, but when I do, it’s rock solid!
Great review mate. I have two Reveres. One in .177 and one in .22. They are excellent rifles and I really enjoy mine. As a hunting rifle I’d say they are second only to the HW100K. The HW is just that bit more refined and has just that bit more going for it. Just like the BF109 was just that bit better at everything than the Spitfire.
Hi mate thanks for watching I’ll Agree to disagree about the hw100 I think the Revere is better ticks more boxes for me especially when it comes to shot Count! And weight Don’t get me wrong the hw is great but for me the revere is sublime. Nice one mate.
I had a huntsman( left hand 177) for maybe 11 or 12 years … loved it , reliable , accurate … great gun … but decided about time I got myself a regulated modern gun and just bought a BRK GHOST and can’t really compare as bad weather means I’ve hardly used it
The Revere is a phenomenal gun and has a few niggles but ive never had an issue with the new gated magazines. sady i had to sell mine to fund another gun but i kept my 9 year old daystate huntsman Regal to hunt with and bought the Safari stock as i wanted something a bit more tactile to hold than the polished wanut stock. As for accuracy out to 40yds, it's as good as anything being made today, even my Airmaks Krait The rear butt pad part of the safari stock is a different shape and narrower compared to the walnut stocked revere so wont fit and i would imagine difficult to find one that fits snug.
Really nice rifle. I noticed the last shot out the magazine leaving it empty would missalighn the magazine & barrel, snagging on the probe o-ring when decocking on an empty mag. Does that make sense? I 'fixed' mine by taking it apart & soldering a small shim like ball so it aligns nicely. Maybe you cover this still watching the vid 😅 The barrel rattle in the figure 8, I added one layer of black electric tape around the inside. It still allows for a bit of movement but eliminates the rattle.
Have you tried the QYS 13g magnum pellets thru your revere? I use them a lot in my other rifles for my TH-cam channel footage. Also have you tried to adjust the power level?
Hi no I haven’t tried them but would defiantly try a heavier pellet. I have done some pellet testing recently with heavier pellets by different brands etc I’ll be honest my Revere loved the streamline 9.56 but I would be great to get the same accuracy with a slightly heavier pellet especially for hunting! I’ll get some and give them a try. I have not ever tried to adjust the power mate I’m sub 12 and wouldn’t want to break the law.
@ Yeah I’m sub12 too but have adjusted the power down to suit the 13g pellets so it’s well under 12ftb. My rifles seem to like them. If you check one of my videos I also got hold of the up and coming, hopefully soon QYS .22 pellets pushing them thru my BRK Ghost.
Fantastic mate to be honest I’m not a tinkerer I don’t touch any internals on my rifles simply because I have no idea! Yes I’ve heard of the .22 QYS pellets but they’re going to be around £30 for 500 I believe?
@@Ratsinthereticles I don't do much with rifles, I normally leave it to people who know what they are doing. I've not seen any reports of prices on. 22 qys but that seems expensive.
Well it’s around £20 for a tin of 177 and .22 are usually around 20/30% more expensive as it’s more lead etc hopefully I’m wrong as I really like QYS pellets but I did get some great results with the cheap Brazilian RTX pellets and there around £7 for a tin.
Hi mate your question is a bit confusing as the safari is the Revere mate Itd the same rifle just a different stock that’s all but all the mechanics, barrel trigger etc is the same as for power that all depends on laws in your country.

Certainly is a fine looking rifle..and as always great to get a real owner's perspective 👍👍
Steve thank you for watching and your great input as always mate your a top geezer! 👊🏻

I bought a Harrier mk 1 in 1997.
I still have it and it still impress
I had one in 2001 mate and still wish I had it single load was pain but it was so accurate even in .22, thanks for watching mate.

Great looking rifle bud
Have you seen “ Points of Aim “ Huntsman Revere review ? Best pellet for his gun is Daystate Sovereigns.

My guess matey is that the stock is sandblasted beech. For me, it looks like driftwood! Walnut for me!!
No idea mate I love a walnut stick as well! But this is different and has grown on me I absolutely love it mate thanks for watching and your input.
I have its fore runner the regal hr, in .177 , it loves jsb hades...great review , have u had to replace any seals etc ?
The regal is a great gin also mate I agree no it’s only 2 years old mate seals are probably still like new. TFW👌🏻
The barrel might be a free floating barrel. This gives better barrel harmonics ?
hi great videos, was wondering do you know is there any difference in the power and accuracy between the revere and the safari thanks

Yo, what’s it like at. 50yds ?
It’s like a laser my friend!
Are those westhunter scope mounts mate?
They sure are Rich there fantastic mounts mate can’t fault them.
@@Ratsinthereticles totally agree!
