      I really do think the $100 a month idea is the best as well! Another option would be to simply charge for each use of water and RV dump.

    Lots of people pay the $40 for 14 days. That’s $80 a month. $100 a month is a deal as long as they add a few xtra water and dump stations

    • @GotOut

      I agree they should definitely add more dump and water stations if the price is significantly raised. 🌵🌲

    I do only free. Between Oxbow Rd south of I-10 Ehrenberg. Mittry Lake Yuma is great for veterans to shop at the Commissary. Palm Canyon between Quartzsite and Yuma. Yuma is a zoo compared to food shopping in Parker. These are just a few off the top of my head. This is my 6th winter in Quartzsite. It might sound selfish, but I keep my favorite places to myself. I think the deal with the price hike is going to allow them to improve the camp areas. Install more RV stations for black/grey water, trash and such. Install more toilets and what ever else. 600 dollars is still under 100 dollars a month. Im going down for the first time in a few weeks, and yeah id like to see it remain cheap. But, as a new guy to there, id probably pay the 600. Im someone that will need the vault toilets, lol

      Nomads are good at finding good deals on services like RV dump and water. Some places are free. Some places are just a few bucks and some places are expensive. 25 bucks for water seems expensive. But if you need it, you need it and then it’s cheap. 🌲🌵

    • @GotOut
      @GotOut  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I hope you’re right that the increase won’t actually be up to $600. A price hike from $180-$300 would seem fair enough. 🌵🌲

  • @FLYNXC
    @FLYNXC 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Didnt they put in several more sewage stations in the ltva or Q vicinity?Maybe I missed it, but you keep saying only water and dump station. Maybe you are combing trash removal and sewage, but it doesn’t come across that way. State refuge/trash dumpsters and removal is also included. I think there should be more options to pay but not at a rate of $85. Though, $85 for a month with the THREE services I mentioned is not ridiculous, but may be hard for many to swallow paying it in a lump sum. One issue with monthly rates to help people pay may probably be the available manpower. i.e. tracking folks camped who may be on a paid month or past due.

    • @GotOut
      @GotOut  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are four more dump stations, but they did not work last year and I don’t think they’re going to be working this year either. It will be an excellent upgrade once they are working.
      Also, I think a realistic price for RV dump and water supply is only about $10-$20 per use. So that’s only $40 maybe $60 a month and the truth is a lot of nomads can find those services for free. There are also other costs like you mentioned the dumpsters and then road repairs signage and such. So maybe a fair price would be $85 per month and you can choose the number of months you want. 🌵🌲

  • @TheMadCamper
    @TheMadCamper 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Great live, GO. Good lighting and audio. Yeah, $600 is OK. It's still less than $3 a night. And - they'll use the money for more ENFORCEMENT, which is REALLY needed. Plus utility improvements, etc. That said, I'll go on FREE BLM and go into town once in a while. I dunno... We'll see what they really decide to do. $600 isn't set in stone yet.

    • @GotOut
      @GotOut  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I appreciate the input! I think it would be much more fair if they just charge $100 per month. But really all you’re getting is a dump station and water, which is only worth 10 or 20 bucks per use. 🌵🌲

    These people should pay more. Why should taxpayers subsidize them? These LTVAs are for those that have the expensive RVs. The rest of us, the peasants, with less money, have to crowd around the toilets, and smell sh-t all day to be allowed.
    I travel the National Forest across a few states, but I can't afford one of these RVs. So I carry a tent. In the winter, I have to go to the Quartzsite/Yuma area to stay warm. But because I'm poor, and lower class, I can't afford a home on wheels.
    Why shouldn't they pay more for their privilege? I don't want them or anyone else treated unfairly, but having to pay $85 a month in rent instead of $25 a month, so that taxpayers don't have to pay their bills, is not unfair. I'm not on welfare, and I live outdoors. So why should they get welfare?

    Ok,quit complaining about the price increase. It's still very cheap for 7 months. People are trash dumping the areas as well as campgrounds and national parks. No wonder prices are going up😑

    • @GotOut
      @GotOut  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, I would complain if the price was increased to $600. It’s public land it’s supposed to be free camping technically. But seeing as how some basic services are provided, it does make sense to charge for that but if you see the conditions of the dump in the fact that there were only two dump stations for hundreds of thousands of campers, it just doesn’t really make sense to raise the price. Feels Like a money grab is what I’m saying, but if evidence can be presented to show that it is not a money grab then I think we would all look at that evidence fairly. 🌲🌵

    Here's some info on the price hike. The last price hike to $180 was in 2007 . That's 17 years ago. What hasn't gone up substantially in that time period? Additionally the pass is inclusive of all LTVAs in AZ and CA. I wish anyone can point it out to me where in the US you can go live for $86 per month for water, sewer and trash and not have to move every two weeks. I live on my monthly SS and consider this price more than fair. There is signage for the dump. I didnt have any problem my first year here. How many of these same people that are complaining about this rate hike on public land in Quartzsite are some of the very same people that will go to one of the National Parks paying crazy money for a day where they can't even camp except some over priced concierge operated campground that's on public land. You get out of Quartzsite what you want out of it. I have traveled 18000 miles in the past 1.5 years with just me and my small fur babies. I'm 66 years old and female. Quartzsite is awesome for me. The Lit Cactus site is there still but its now The Prickly Bush. I would never stay in LaPosa North, Tyson Wash, or LaPisa West but thats because they are closer to town and more acessible for ths sketchy prople to get to town to panhandle. Like i said you get out of Q what you want out if it. This place is my calming place and i save enough if my SS every month to fund my travels for the other 6 months of the year.
