Does this work on Bedrock? No.
Does this work on Paper/Spigot? I don't know... go try it.
Aren't rail placements annoying? No! Make sure to use Mended Minecarts (github.com/2No2Name/MendedMinecarts ) one of the best QoL mods available for carts!
I also mention in the video about an issue with carts affecting adjacent slices in the stacker... that was wrong. The issue actually had to do with the sticky piston spitting the slab in front of it.

This is awesome. I've been looking at mass storage systems for a while without picking one but now I'll definitely be putting CartMIS v3 in my favorite world. The ease of access to individual items _and_ shulker boxes alone makes it outstanding, let alone all the rest.

Having recently built your v2 system is survival with my own additions it is nice to see that V3 does everything mine does but more efficiently and with less failure states.
It is a ton of fun figuring out storage tech designs and systems and I will be coming back to V3 when the server my friends and I play on resets in 12 to 18 months.

Been doing research on storage systems for my world and this came out with perfect timing.
The Cart MIS has been my favorite storage tech for a long time now. Awesome to see it being updated and improved all the time.

Any plan to, or reason not to, add a shulker box autocrafter to the system rather than just a box of empties? Would eliminate the need to use the carpet mod empty shulker box stacking rule which seems like a bonus. And dropping off two shulkers of logs and a shulker of shulker shells would last many times longer than the space there could accommodate with empty unstacked boxes!

I've been on the fence about carts for storage, partly because I'm a bit old fashioned but also i had bad luck with other designs, cazu and lummies for instance... But I'm willing to give it another shot for this alone!! Fantastic work raps and Co 😎

Also love the pre-sorting into different wings. Mine is laid out that way, but carts take the whole journey round.
If you can mix and match slices (bulk and multi) then I'll be very tempted to switch.

I have a system that can separate a schalker by one type of item and by different types of items. It can be used to load layers of a single item. But this is a very highly specialized application

I just finished V2 (extended+shulkerloaders). Bit bummed but its not a huge step down in terms of usability. V3 seems way faster tho.

At the 7:00 mark, you said that you need to keep the shulker boxes filled manually. Could you not attach a small shulker farm to it, using crafters, to automatically refill the chest once it detects that one of the areas is empty? That way, you wouldn't have to refill them at all. You could fill a single double chest with chests for the crafters and that would likely be enough for eternity
do you recomend buiding this on survival?
I'm still a little iffy on using carts, still using MIS V4.2, works very well
Carts are completely deterministic, and carts tend to be more unload resistant due to less redstone components present. Between that and the speed, the only thing i would really consider as a balancing act between types would just be general build effort (which can be solved through mods)
Can we get schematics or a link to fast chest and box unloader? I'm trying to piece the parts together in order to make it suit my needs but can't find the input and unloader components and don't want to try and take them from the full build because I'm scared I'll take too much or too little

Ah, I'm currently already building a custom config of CartMIS 2 with an unstackable sorter included on my SMP. I have already built everything but the actual MIS slices. Are those new MIS slices a lot more time efficient than the previous ones? I have 144 slices planned and one complete run through of all slices does take over 7 minutes. I might think about switching those out against the new ones if those are much better
The carts in V3 get to their destinations much faster.

You should be able to, yes.
Why don't you detect the softlocked slice at 6:50 and just check if there are shulkers in chest and if not deactivate the slice and store items somewhere in kinda hidden overflow that will be cleaned as soon as there are shulkers in chest again and then reset the slice and sort overflow back into slice? Ig that would be better than to have the player need to see the light being off and stop system and fill up (what he has to do in V2 too but just not reset or stuff, so there is a general lamp "refill shulkers in Hall 1" or something and then after that's done it automatically resets and fixes itself).
Can the unstackable sorter handle buckets of fish/axolotls/tadpoles? I've never been able to think of a way to sort regular water buckets that wouldn't also end up dispensing the fish, and as far as I know there's no way to automate picking the fish back up, so they'd end up either dying from lack of water, or bobbing around in the system somewhere probably breaking things. Is this system safe to throw your blue axolotl bucket into?
The animals end up in a 1x1x1 of water and the water buckets get sorted normally
So it's safe to input axolotls (as long as you don't also input pufferfish 😆)
is there a spesific way to build this farm? i used litematic and paste in to my world. looking at east. 3 or 4 th time, minecarts get bug.
Make sure you turn the clock on if you're pasting the schematic.
What items aren't sorted?
i dont understand the chunk loading. theres 6 portals at the overworld side but only 1 in the nether. and you use the pumpkins going through to chunkload. do you dupe them pumpkins or how does it work turning the pumpkins back to each chunkloader so it doesnt run out of storage?
The chunkloading isn't setup on the nether side.

What happens when the chunks get unloaded while the sorter is active? Specifically in singleplayer.
If everything gets unloaded at once... probably nothing and it will continue working when reloaded. I'd still recommend chunk loaders though.
