I had a stroke February 2021. Husband took me to emergency room, they checked for heart attack?? Ekg, blood work. Said I was dehydrated and gave me fluids. Meanwhile I was falling down, bumping into walls, fatique etc. Saw my primary care doctor 2 days later and she immediately looked at me and had me transported to ER. (different one) My MRI showed that I had 2 previous strokes. I recall being confused and having problems processing thoughts, losing words. My friends told me its part of getting older..Thank God, I'm still here 🙏🏾
I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and will bump into walls, sometimes bouncing into another wall. One time so disoriented I fell into a door. Light sensitivity. Then a couple of weeks ago I woke up and felt like my tongue wasn't hitting my teeth right. Most people wouldn't have noticed the difference, but I could. I'm scared to death because I can't find anybody to feed my cat with kidney disease. Family tells me to 'just get some rest' and wait for an MRI in a couple of weeks. They don't realize this could be serious and think I'm exaggerating. It may even be a heart attack. Have had some chest tightness here and there, back pain. I know heart attacks can lead to strokes too. I also am always aware of my lower gums. I have gum disease, but so do a lot of people, and they aren't feeling what I feel constantly.
@@tailzzzzz how were your tests? Why did you have to wait so long for it? Also, gum disease and the care of the mouth can cause a lot of issues, including heart problems. when my mother had a stroke they also checked first for heart attack.. ekg, check her blood sugar in case it was hypoglycemia... then MRI, which didn't show any signs of stroke yet. But she had a few minutes of classic stroke symptoms and that was enough. I'm surprised they didn't check you for MRI sooner, stroke is in the top 5 cause of death in many countries 😳

I had a Tia 6 months ago and it took 6 months for them to put me on baby aspirin as they thought it was an eye problem due double vision. I’m all good now thank goodness but anxious about internal bleeds and anxious about having another but I have faith and stopped smoking and eat healthy I now have a yearly check at doctors. I wish you all well
Mom just had one. Learning all about these. Thank you for sharing your story. It EFF'ing matters!!! YOU MATTER!!!! Hope is all ANY of us really have!!! TY again
I have had several over last couple of years. Being a severe myopic, i thought it was just eye strain reaction. After meeting with my eye doctor recently, he has told me that i was experiencing TIAs. My last one was Christmas Day evening and I've lost vision from 20-30 degrees to far left and right and most of my lower peripheral. I do have brain fog here and there, but it goes away a few weeks after an episode. I am 43.
I had my first TIA when i was in the 7th grade. It began with losing vision in the left eye. Then the left arm went numb. Then I would get cold. Then I would vomit. Comprehension or reading were not possible. I would go to the school nurse, my father would come to the school and take me home, then he would go back to work. I would be left alone at home. Symptoms would ease up hours later, then the severe headache would last for another twenty-four hours. I had several through middle and high school. I had several more years later. The last one was at age 27. I am 56 now and gladly haven't had any in a long time. No one thought to take me to a hospital because I couldn't tell them anything, and they just thought I was "sick". I never knew about mercury exposure association with tia until I read a comment in this video. After an old thermometer broke, my dad collected the mercury and I kept it and played with it for days or weeks. I was about 8 or 9 years old at the time.
I haven't had a TIA but i did suffer from nerve pain in my hips radiating down to my legs (on either leg). Now I'm on medication for the pain. And now that i think of it one of the causes could be that i broke a mercury thermometer when i was 7 or 8 years old and i played with that tiny spilled mercury ball for a day or two. It scares me to think what could have happened to me with that tiny amount of toxic substance.
I had a similar experience I experienced this on Friday and I tried to tell my parents I had warning signs of a stroke and they think it was some quote on quote “anxiety attack” No matter ho w much I try to tell them they still don’t believe me. To prove it was stroke warning signs and not an anxiety attack, this happened when I thought nothing of it and had no anxiety. I wish more documentaries would be sent out about this to inform many. If a stroke takes place, (major), god willing. If I was an adult right now I would immediately contact 911 or the ER

Suffered from a TIA on Sunday 16th scared the life out of me. Thankfully no change in limb use. Still anxious and worried it will happen again but GP says that's just part of the three stages of grief. Hope your ok now.
Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. I have been epileptic since birth from a bleed in my brain that caused permanent brain damage in all of my frontal lobe and a part of the cerebellum. I was asked in my early 20's if I wanted to do brain surgery. I refused until I was 26. Went through 4 brain surgeries to control my seizures. My last surgery was last July to replace the battery for my neuropace ( like a pacemaker but for the brain to control and stop seizures). The next month I had a mini stroke. I was so scared and confused, I just went through it all without saying a word to my family. I went months before telling a doctor. I realized it wasn't a seizure very fast and just waited to see if I would have another one or a full blown stroke. I never had my doctors inform me of anything. I sadly understand that the surgery is also what caused the mini stroke. But I knew going into it that I had a 10% chance of death during surgery. It came down to me dieing at anytime from a seizure or have surgery and only have a 10% chance of death. I wish I had never agreed to the surgeries now. Because it made no difference. I still have one seizure a month and I'm just lucky that I am still here. It's been a little over a year since the mini stroke and I still haven't told my family. I just don't want to scare them

Thank you Mark for your share. This TIA just happened to me the Tuesday morning before Xmas 2021. Mine occurred at 4:11am I wasn't sure what was happening but I knew something wasn't right with me. But me, ever the pleaser, I went to work. Over the coarse of the morning/day Numbness on my right side set in. I couldn't swallow my own saliva or anymore water later in the day. Later that night, I drove to the ER where my BP was 191/122. Many tests, scans, PT\voice and swallowing re-training happened. I was released around noon on Xmas eve (Miracle) after being able to eat three meals which take over an hour to eat now. I'm still a little laggy, probably due to laying in a bed for three days. I lost 6lbs and other bodily functions haven't returned, BM. The numbness/tingling is still with me. when it's cold out, my numb side is hot & vice versa. What if anything can I do to help that along. I've taken to using my Celluma LED panel on the IR setting over the area where the clot was? My perspective on life/health balance has changed a bit. Thank you.

@@BubblyBrunette84 You're strong and brave, I'm glad you're feeling better now. My father (who is a hypertensive patient) had TIA symptoms 3 days ago, slurring words, face dropped, weakness in left arm, all while he was sleeping and having a nightmare. It went on for like 90 seconds... soon after, he was perfectly fine and back to normal. When we went to see an internist he didn't mention anything about stroke or TIA, he said it was something about kidney cysts and prostate enlargement (he had us do ultrasound test). I don't know but i'm concerned now after seeing these TIA videos!
Pretty sure this happened to me. Went to the ER because my face was drooping. The doctor looked at me and said “no it’s not” I had left work in the middle of my shift to be driven to the ER bc I saw and felt my entire left side droop. When I got to the hospital I was very confused, couldn’t speak properly, and could barely stand. They did some tests said it’s all fine, my discharge paperwork says I was treated for “speech abnormality” I guess I have to be bleeding out to be taken seriously 🤷♀️ UPDATE: I had an MRI done after the fact and they didn’t find anything. I did have another visit to the ER bc I woke up one morning extremely nauseous, dizzy, and weak. I tried to eat a banana and ended up vomiting. Long story short I have pancreatitis. Idk if it’s related to my previous ER visit but yea.
Can you insist with your doctor for brain scan ? I did (my symptoms not as severe as yours) & my GP forwarded me straight away for brain and spinal mri. Awaiting results now.
My dad had several strokes his speech all his right side was gone my Mum was advised not to take him on hols but she Did took him every where I still miss him even though it’s 17 years since he died it left a huge void but that’s life love and prayers to u all
I think my 81 year old Mom had one in the bathroom and she fell She did not break anything but lost her Memory and crawled to her bedroom to call me but did not pull her chain in her bathroom for help .The Crawl took her 5 hours to her phone which is a short distance ,With these Covid restrictions in the hospital she refused to go since she would be alone . The squad came and got her up off the floor Her eye lid does look like it is drooping more

At the time I didn’t know what it was when it happened. I mean I still don't know if it is indeed TIA til this day but something like it really happened to me id say more than 3 years ago and I thought it wasn't that big of a deal since it lasted less than 15 mins and I didn't want to seem like im overreacting so I didn't bother getting help. Im now 19 and I don't remember exactly how long ago it happened but someone pls tell me if it really is TIA. cuz one day I woke up groggily late in the afternoon without breakfast or lunch and tried making my way into the kitchen but I suddenly fell into the ground. losing strength from both my legs though I could barely hold myself up with an arm or two. I had lost my vision right then and there. it was pitch black and I had a hard time breathing. my dad was in the kitchen while I was right next to the dining table trying to call out to him for help but all I could say was "dad" faintly over and over again. he heard the thump on the ground and called my name to ask what it was, but I couldn't answer him. all I could remember was feeling weak, confused and frustrated at myself for not making up the right words to ask my dad for help. he heard me calling for him but didn't come right away since he was busy cooking and because I didn't sound like I was desperate for help, but a minute or two passed and he then came and saw me laying on the ground and tried helping me up to sit down on a chair. he then asked what had happened, though I still couldn't make up the right words to tell him. 5 mins or so passed and I was starting to see a bit of light through my eyes, though my vision was still quite blurry and I could finally somewhat make sense of what just had happened.
Stop smoking take it easy the next 4 months is critical because the first 6 months is when most likely to have another... From what I experienced my speech was different I couldn't process the words that comes naturally but after 6 months later I noticed my right toe is harder to bend and my left thumb doesn't bend as far as the one on the right... But over all I feel good. I just gotta take asprin and when I feel scared about falling asleep I'd drink beer. Alcohol is a lot better on the brain then nicotine or anything else, I wouldn't recommend anything else the doctor says... Psychedelic research came along way and yeahhh the attack is over but the concenquences are now, is it going to happen again? And if it does how can it effect you? It's all different I had a bacteria infection in my heart and it went into my brain but it could been alot worse and I turn 30 on January 20th... It's been 2 months since your comment how you feeling?
Watching this on my way to a head CT scan for dizziness, high BP ? TIA/mini stroke yesterday and the music of dinging in the background is terrible. Bg music at all for anyone here for themselves for info, is terrible. Please consider information gathering for stroke patients.
I've been experiencing floaters in my right eye and extremely disoriented and confused. I just think im exhausted. But I went to urgent care and explained my symptoms. The doctor said it looks like a mini stroke. My regular doctor will just throw me under the bus and say im ok.
Hello, My name is jayson I just had a TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK AKA A MINI STROKE. I want to thank all of you for sharing your stories I denied admittance to the hospital after my stroke and I would not recommend it. I have a question my apt use to be a meth lab landlord didn't tell me and there is a open source of mercury chemical visible in bottom of the toilet. I know now that TIA is a side effect of mercury poisoning. I am about to open my landlords property speak with lawyer and others today
My young wife had a TIA two weeks ago. She is recovering, using a walker. Her memory, spelling, things like this all seem fine. Her personality seems (childlike) at times. Will she recover from this?
I don't think so. And my bet is that she suffered right hemisphere damage; that is, verbal intelligence is fine, but impaired perception. The chilidhness comes from this kinda laid-back attitude induced by a lack of overall "multidimensional thinking": a somewhat black-and-white thinking, that relates to the heminegligence phenomenon too
hope your wife recovered... my mother's personality also changed after a stroke, her spelling is bad, she's trying to read, and comprehension is not always there
I had what i think is a minor stoke a few days ago. Dr said its stroke. At first i thought it was just fatigue. Everything seeme back to normal except my signature is messier, and getting dressed is slower.
I have a question if my Tia come from a bacteria infection in the heart. And that bacteria is gone am I still in trouble in the future... I still smoke cigarettes and I still drink especially at night that's like my ambien and I'll take my asprin.. My speech aint exactly a hundred ill catch myself stuttering and my left thumb doesn't bend as far as my right and my right toe doesn't bend that far either.. .. It's been7 months will I fully recover....
Two days after my second covid shot I went deaf in my right ear, temporarily blind in my left eye and had trouble swallowing. Ultimately the neurologist said I had a micro stroke. I believe that my blood thinners saved me from being a covid statistic.
I fell in April 2021 and messed up my left side pretty good. Apparently between then and October when I had a full-blown clot I had some 40 tia's. Most of them I didn't even know. But now my language is not the best and my jaw quivers as well as being more clumsy than normal. Just had a brain mri and thankfully haven't had any more. But then since the clot in October 2021 I've been on blood thinners.
That's completely unfair and we understand the distress that must cause. This is why we endeavour to make sure that people get the right examination or treatment that they need.

Had a TIA a week ago. Still not feeling great. Lots of anxiety since then as well
Me too I'm so depressed and scared. All I think about is when I will get a stroke
How was it diagnosed?
I just had one today. What did the doctors do for you?
Frank Fierro not much lol it took about a year to fully recovery(i was tired that whole year it took a year to get back to normal.) my dr sees me every 6 months to monitor me. Hope ya recover soon.
Thanks for sharing. Praying 🙏 for everyone
They did some tests said it’s all fine, my discharge paperwork says I was treated for “speech abnormality” I guess I have to be bleeding out to be taken seriously 🤷♀️
UPDATE: I had an MRI done after the fact and they didn’t find anything. I did have another visit to the ER bc I woke up one morning extremely nauseous, dizzy, and weak. I tried to eat a banana and ended up vomiting. Long story short I have pancreatitis. Idk if it’s related to my previous ER visit but yea.
I'm so sorry they didn't help you. I hope you're doing okay now.
Can you insist with your doctor for brain scan ? I did (my symptoms not as severe as yours) & my GP forwarded me straight away for brain and spinal mri. Awaiting results now.
sounds like a stroke mate .. I just had one. they confirmed it with MRI. Im ok.
don't muck around get an MRI. this is serious stuff.

The squad came and got her up off the floor Her eye lid does look like it is drooping more
I had a mini-stroke this past weekend and I am so afraid that I don't want to have another one

Understandable, it's a very difficult experience to have. We wish the best for you.

How you doing?
did your face tingly before you had your mini stroke
Yes could have been a tia or stroke, maybe syncope
I remember when Frankie Muniz had one in 2012 and 2013. He also had some amnesia after that too
😯
i just had a TIA.please someone help me,what should i do??
@ Devin Piasecki How did they diagnose the infection in your heart?

How are you doing now?
Sounds like sleep paralysis
Watching this on my way to a head CT scan for dizziness, high BP ? TIA/mini stroke yesterday and the music of dinging in the background is terrible. Bg music at all for anyone here for themselves for info, is terrible. Please consider information gathering for stroke patients.
I've been experiencing floaters in my right eye and extremely disoriented and confused. I just think im exhausted. But I went to urgent care and explained my symptoms. The doctor said it looks like a mini stroke. My regular doctor will just throw me under the bus and say im ok.
Get an MRI on ur brain
Hope she had recovered and happy now
I don't think so.
Have you fully recovered
Hi, hope you are ok now.
Life if short take each day as a blessing.
Take care M
Two days after my second covid shot I went deaf in my right ear, temporarily blind in my left eye and had trouble swallowing. Ultimately the neurologist said I had a micro stroke. I believe that my blood thinners saved me from being a covid statistic.
That's very unfortunate that it happened to you, but we're glad that you found the right solution.
That's a very difficult experience that you've had, thanks for sharing your story. If you need any information for support, please let us know.
I tell them my symptoms and they always discharge me from hospital numbness vertigo head pressure blurry vision 😢
That's completely unfair and we understand the distress that must cause. This is why we endeavour to make sure that people get the right examination or treatment that they need.

Hi BERETTA, how is your grandma doing? Hope she is well and strong.
@@sindosaragih2850 They are at risk of getting serious stroke. However with healthy lifestyle, stroke can be prevented if they have any underlying health issues like AF, diabetes etc they are at risk, but when they take care of themselves well, they can live longer.
