I live in Southern AZ and drove far North of Colorado to pick up my FDE Scorpion. I love it! I picked up a faux suppressor and CZ sights. Great gun and I flow super well with this bad boy. I'm happy :)

There is one thing to be aware of that I WAS cognizant of before purchasing but just thought “I’ll deal with it” only later to find out that… one can’t Obviously the stock essentially raises the necessary sight height, but there’s no amount of getting low enough on it to get a proper sight picture making the stock sights (which are great) functionally unusable. Just something to be aware of🤙🏾

I personally regret getting the Manticore mags. Only ones that have ever jammed for me. Apparently they fixed the polymer feed lips cracking after the first while of their release.
I haven’t had any problems with my manticores, though most I own are NOT manticore mags lol Yes I had read somewhere online that the issue with polymer mags cracking were a gen 1 issue, and I did mention that in the original cut but I had to edit for time; my analytics tell me apparently less than 30 percent of people who view my videos stay longer than 5 minutes. 🙄 I love my scorpion✊🏾

It used to come loose after a few magazines but it’s not really an issue by any means; I just throw threadlocker on (blue loctite) and it stays put until the off chance I need to remove it. I’ve been doing this since I first got my scorpion and I’m well over 10k rounds at this point, rain, mud, rocks, and sand with no issues aside from a good cleaning when needed🙏🏽

Lol funny you should mention that, the short answer is no, as the person who ran the registration desk knew what was up, and if you’ve ever seen a real suppressor, one can tell the difference pretty quickly and easily. However, I did have two officers walking through the office look over and, I’ll just say, became quite concerned and vocal about it. I wouldn’t worry about it, if you get weird looks or get questioned, it’s very easy to see the difference as this faux suppressor is pretty much just a tube over the barrel; there are other faux suppressors on line that are much more convincing
I have been interested in either the new BRNO PSD 7.5 FK pistol - $1650 or CZ Scorpion carbine. The CZ is a lot less money and appears more practical. Both are excellent Czech weapons. I have the imported VZ58
The VZ58 is sweet, no doubt I’d LOVE to get my hands on one of those to add to the roster, especially the real deal import. I’m trying hard to get a Galil ACE Gen 2 in 7.62, but the VZ58 is a firearm I have always, and WILL always want to own.
Mine is the imported D-Technik receiver model made in Czech Republic, not the Century build. Paratrooper version with metal side folder stock. I got a good deal on it at the time $700. Rob Ski recently did a great review on it

I have a question, you said 32 round mags were shipped with the rifle. I thought in Hawaii we could only have 10 round magazines or is the law read differently for carbines? No problem, it's going to be hidden by an HB Industries handguard also inspired by your setup. What's your experience been like with PSA?
Aloha nō my friend! Where on O’ahu are you? My daughter lives in Waialua, so I’m up the once or twice a month visiting. Where did you shoot your match? So awesome for you to be getting into it! To answer your question, my CZ scorpion shipped with one or two 20 round magazines, I purchased multiple 30, and 32 round magazines online. Per Hawaii state law, a carbine’s magazine falls under the category of a rifle, so there are no restrictions, unless your carbine’s magazine is interchangeable with a pistol, then the limit is 10rounds. Since the CZ scorpion uses proprietary magazines that are not compatible with any standard pistol, there are no magazine restrictions for it. I have always had a good experience with PSA, although I have never purchased full firearms from them. I have purchased many optics, parts, and lights through PSA, but never an actual FFL firearm. I actually am waiting for a bunch of parts from them now as I’m helping a friend set up a couple platforms. The CZ scorpion is still one of my faves to shoot and I think it’ll take you well into your competition shooting career. HBI was out of stock on the barrel nut tool, so I bought one on Amazon. Can you believe that! Amazon had it. Yeah, I wanted the MPX but it wasn't worth the additional groveling I would have had to do. I had a hard enough time negotiating the purchase of the Scorpion with my wife. I freaking love USPSA, but since November I haven't even been to the range because I holding on to what little ammo I have for emergencies. I even bought reloading equipment, but there aren't any primers, anywhere on this island. I call to check everyday and I'm even on a few wait lists. Mahalo for answering the question. I dug a little deeper and figured it all out. I guess our rifle high capacity mags are safe until they pass another law. I think the tide is shifting though because I think our state is going from the "may issue" to "shall issue" when we hear back from the SCOTUS this summer. That's going to open a lot of doors for a firearms instructor like yourself. I truly enjoy your videos. They're freaking funny and informative. I got you. My girlfriend keeps telling me I should make videos centered to local people on stuff like this, and I think I might do that you’re not the first to ask. What island do you live on? Generally, I like to order through our local shops to support local, but as you know, living in Hawaii things can be really limited. Ordering online is really, really easy. You will pay more, but you have a much wider selection. First, find the firearm you want online. I can’t tell you where to specifically because of TH-cam rules, but find what you want from a reputable online gun store. Go to your local gun shop or call them up. Ask if they do FFL transfers, if they do let them know that you’re ordering online, and get their email address and information. Place your order online. They will ask for your local gun store’s information, you put it in and it’s pretty much like Amazon, pay and you’re done with ordering. Once it gets to your local store, you will pay the transfer fee set by your dealer, and then fill out all the paperwork for your background check and stuff as you normally would if you were buying straight from the store. The carbine versions are inherently more quiet than the pistols because they have longer barrels, but that difference is very small. I think the state of Hawaii and BATF just don’t know about my special suppressor camera microphone lol (I think what you’re hearing is just the mic doing weird things to reality) My scorpion with the faux suppressor is the only one I own, so I can’t readily compare it to the pencil barrel or pistol versions, but I don’t see how the fake can would make any difference to the noise produced as it threads on over the barrel and doesn’t change it in any way.

Per Hawai’i law, we are barred from owning SBRs or even any type of braced pistol (like a CZ scorpion pistol variant, AR pistol etc) because it possesses more than two of the several characteristics needed to make it fall under the classification of an “Assault Pistol” Which…. Isn’t a real thing I have a tendency to over explain things, so I’ll stop my response here and directly answer your question lol No, the SBR version is not legal in Hawai’i nei 🤙🏾

Bro what’s the best way to go about purchasing a Cz. I’ve never purchased online before, I’ve only purchased locally from stores. Hard to find?

What island do you live on?
Generally, I like to order through our local shops to support local, but as you know, living in Hawaii things can be really limited.
Ordering online is really, really easy.
You will pay more, but you have a much wider selection.
First, find the firearm you want online. I can’t tell you where to specifically because of TH-cam rules, but find what you want from a reputable online gun store.
Go to your local gun shop or call them up. Ask if they do FFL transfers, if they do let them know that you’re ordering online, and get their email address and information.
Place your order online. They will ask for your local gun store’s information, you put it in and it’s pretty much like Amazon, pay and you’re done with ordering.
Once it gets to your local store, you will pay the transfer fee set by your dealer, and then fill out all the paperwork for your background check and stuff as you normally would if you were buying straight from the store.

Even though that’s a faux suppressor it sounds quiet. Is it any quieter than the regular version?
The carbine versions are inherently more quiet than the pistols because they have longer barrels, but that difference is very small.
I think the state of Hawaii and BATF just don’t know about my special suppressor camera microphone lol (I think what you’re hearing is just the mic doing weird things to reality)
My scorpion with the faux suppressor is the only one I own, so I can’t readily compare it to the pencil barrel or pistol versions, but I don’t see how the fake can would make any difference to the noise produced as it threads on over the barrel and doesn’t change it in any way.

Unfortunately, no. Per Hawai’i law, we are barred from owning SBRs or even any type of braced pistol (like a CZ scorpion pistol variant, AR pistol etc) because it possesses more than two of the several characteristics needed to make it fall under the classification of an “Assault Pistol”

Aloha nō my friend! So sorry for the late reply…. Ah, this video was shot a long time ago, I run a different foregrip on my Scorpion now, but I’m pretty sure the one I was using in this video was just a standard Magpul VFG that I chopped in half🤙🏾

As I said at 1:30, it’s just a barrel shroud that imitates a suppressor. Super lame, but i thought it had more tacticool points than the other carbine configuration from CZ that comes without it.
