Wow! This is quite the scoop for you guys. I remember when Russel Williams first got arrested, or at least when the interrogation video became public. Everyone, and I mean (from Dr. Phil to The View, to Nancy Grace, to Dateline. Anyone that had a show that could either mention true crime sometimes or discuss current events) wanted Detective Smyth on their show. I heard some producers literally begged. But Jim Smyth said no to . He must really respect you gentlemen. Excellent job. Congratulations!!!

Clearly Greg put him onto their video analyzing his interrogation of Colonel Williams. So it seemed clear to me that Jim likely looked at everything The Behavior Panel had been doing before agreeing to do the show. Just made good sense to do his due diligence before agreeing to come on. The fact that he’s open to possibly coming back is definitely worth pursuing. 🤔 As Scott quickly conceded that TBP will do whatever Jim wants them to look at - makes it clear that Jim’s in the driver’s seat for any follow up sessions. 👍😊👍🇨🇦🇨🇦

There's something almost priest-like about Jim Smyth and his approach to the interrogation. For a police interrogation he manages to craft a remarkable illusion, an irresistable opportunity for Russell, and with his 'nice guy' persona, he falls for it. It must have felt like an intimate 'Come-to-God' opportunity to confess and relieve his guilt.

Jim Smyth is just an amazing guy. He seems to have both a lot of empathy and a hell of a willpower to get a job done. Great guy! If you hear why the suspect chooses to talk to the police, its the small things and respect. The prison from Norway where they focus on rehabilitating inmates have the same approach, it you treat people like an animal, they'll turn into an animal.
