I tried looking past his bullshit for the longest time because he owns one of the largest forums for park/coaster fans, but eventually left because it was enough since he interacted on there himself a lot. A bit before I left I witnessed him have a complete shitfit meltdown because a gay guy said he wouldn't feel comfortable visiting a park because it was in Saudi Arabia.
He's a weird guy for sure. Passive aggressive and likes arguing with people on his forums. Must have a small thingy.

I completely forgot what the video was about by the end, the roller coaster montage and that dude's voice was nostalgic and all I wanted to do in that moment was go to my nearest amusement park.
Theme Park Review started the year I was born and I finally ended up meeting Robb and Elissa 3 years ago on a coaster trip they organised. And I must say it really was impressive how smoothly everything went even with the tight schedule. They do put a lot of work into this

Been following TPR since the early 2000s. I still have a bunch of those DVD's and use to attend a lot of the TPR events. I met Rob a bunch of times, he's a great guy. Hopefully, I can get my channel to 1/4 of his volume of views. Then I could be living the dream also.

I am not a fan of this guy. I used to follow his FB page. The way he treats his fans and followers can be terrible. Sometimes people will misread the title of a video or ask a question before seeing the answer in the video. He would reply with "Dear stupid people of FB" and proceed from there. I remember him posting about Sea World and someone mentioned the documentary Black Fish. Someone asked what it was. I didn't know if they were being serious or sarcastic. I told the person what it was and I was banned from commenting on TPR's content. I've heard that this guy has gotten all bent of shape because someone has said that Pepsi is better than coke. Of all the online coaster enthusiasts I have come across, he is the only one I don't care for.
Just left his FB page for that reason. Rich boy with a inflated knowledge of everything.

Not gonna lie, this Vice mini docu was so strange. I actually have no idea what it was really about. In the beginning, it was about Theme Park Reviews. Then, it was about the Theme Park Reviews community. After that, it was about the...Jersey Devil Coaster for some reason? And then it was about how rollercoasters are an art form...? So why exactly was the title about meeting a guy who rides rollercoasters for a living? What does rollercoaster being an art form have to do with that? I’m a fan of vice and most of their videos are really interesting and focused, but this seemed a bit confused (I don’t mean to be critical, I’m really just wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Also, peep the Coaster Idiots in the background of that one shot 👀 iykyk)

A quick Google search about this guy should have been enough to not do a segment stroking his ego. Robb Alvey has said and done a lot very problematic things.
Vice News should have asked Robb Alvey about Starbucks and "The Beaner Boat Ride" . Also should have asked his opinion on disabled people at theme parks.

I loved getting Starbucks at Universal Studios Japan - as Typhoon Hagibis was headed towards us. . but Starbucks there realized that they could safely keep open until a few hours prior to landfall and they did.
and every employee was happy, and thrilled to see us come in and get coffees.
so yeah. . I'd bring up Starbucks to him, they make some great coffee. But they also sometimes make silly decisions.

I've been part of TPR since like, 2005 and traveled to Japan and across the US with Robb and Elissa and have had nothing but the best time. It's not just about the coasters and community, it's also about the friendships you make along the way!

Its a shame he abuses people who have different opinions to his though. Many many people been banned off his groups and forums for just disagreeing with him politely.
@@gingerpichu9584 you clearly don't read the comments as to why they get banned , they tend to break a policy on the group has , TPR corrects them, then the user gets snarky/ rude/ and continues to break policy's. Its not hard to follow some basic rules in the group/ forum. 9 times out of 10 when someone say that they were only being polite, were not actually being polite.

My favorite was when she surprised me with a trip to cedar point back in 2010 😭😭 I cried cause that was a dream of mine.

I’ve met Robb Alvey a bunch of times. He used to host a annual Coaster Convention at Six Flags Magic Mountain called West Coast Bash.
Oh god this fucking guy. So many people in the rollercoaster enthusiast community have some rather negative interactions with him.

I rode Jersey Devil a few weeks ago. It was a good ride. I really loved the stall and thought it was pretty smooth and fun However, it didn't have the insane pacing of other RMC's so it's fun but not a top ride for me. Also I love how at the end he says "the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer and this creates unity" Except if u come on a weekend. Therefore those who can pay $155 a piece for flash pass will have a good time. If not ur gonna wait 2.5hr for every ride.
