Tried installing a 30w fiber laser from a Chinese company called Highspeed laser. I can see the driver in the device manager (lightburn installs a newer version than the one in your video) but my laser is not recognized.
Same problem with a new EM-Smart laser - when I install the lightburn driver, EZCad stops recognizing the laser and lightburn won't recognize it without the updated driver. But then the lightburn one doesn't show a red framing light but it recognizes it.
I'm not sure what controllers Highspeed laser uses in their systems. Make sure you have a genuine Ezcad 2 controller or Cyclone clone board. Seacad controllers and ezcad 3 controllers are not supported.
You can fix the red light issue by heading into your F3 Param > Ports menu on ezcad. Note the red light port. Make sure it matches in LightBurn. Often a mismatch here is the cause of this issue.

Yes, LightBurn and Ezcad cannot run side by side as they use different drivers. A few episodes later in the series we talk about how to switch back and forth.
I followed exactly this guide and my laser was also found by Lightburn. Now to my problem: as soon as I want to start engraving something and go to start, nothing happens. The laser will not start. does anyone have any tips for me?
Check your ports in the Device settings (we cover this later on in the series) and make sure they match what you have in ezcad, particularly the start marking IO
Yeah during the beta period you'll just install the new version over the old one - shouldn't have to do anything else until the 15th when you'll have to buy the galvo license upgrade.
My uv will be arriving in about a month. I remember you mentioning that lightburn currently doesn't support UV. My uv will have ezcad 2 board. Will this make it possible to use lightburn?
We still have to add that specific type of laser to LightBurn. I haven't looked yet to see if it uses different settings or commands than fiber, but we will be investigating soon. For now, it's just fiber and CO2 laser sources, but we're hoping to get UV added before long.

Not to mention getting my old laptop to recognize and run ezcad or the laser a royal pain. I’ve upgraded to a new computer and have to do it all again! 😩
Just finished watching this video.. This installation is for the new omni 1 by commarker. Have ezcad2 installed off their thumb drive and have run a test file ok but I cannot get my pc to connect when I open up the LB Galvo icon. In their installation manual it shows under device manager BJJCZ not underUniversal Serial Bus Device but up the list which you said is a no no. I don't understand that EZCAD2 recognizes the laser but not LB. Can you be of some help?
did more research. I download EZCAD2 to my commarker omni 1 thumb drive but how do I get it to my device manager or where ever it should go. I already have LG galvo downloaeded
If you installed the ezcad2 driver, the laser WILL NOT be seen in lightburn. The driver used is specific to which software you plan to run. To utilize lightburn, you need to swap to the lightburn provided driver. There's a few options if you're stuck. When running lightburn installer, you will be prompted on the last page of the installer if you want to install the ezcad galvo driver for lightburn. If you dont checkmark the box, it will not install (its not automatic), so you'll need to be sure to checkmark that, or head to the lightburn directory and run the driver installer manually. Typically running the driver installer from lightburn will over-write the old driver, but if it gets stuck you'll need to go into the device manager with the laser turned on and plugged in, and uninstall the driver yourself, then turn off and start the process with lightburn's driver again.
Hi! I imported all my Ezcad2 settings to lightburn. looked over all the settings and it looks good. only problem now is the scale. In Ezcad2 20x20 box is 20mmx20mm , the settings in lightburn for galvo1 and 2 with offsett etc is identical, but in lightburn 20x20 comes out as 18.5x18.5.
So I am ready to install the M7 I have. Can I configure Light Burn to run my boss co and then switch over to the M7? I just updated LB but haven't installed the ezcad drivers. Can I import the drivers without removing LB all over again?
Hey Hammeredge, you can indeed. You can even open 2 instances of LightBurn with 1 set to device for co2, and the other set to fiber. Then you can control them independently even at the same time. A bit further into the crash course (episode 3) we cover swapping between ezcad and lightburn, you won't need to remove LB. :)
Anyone have an issue with "Find my laser", my laser is active on the computer but shows in device manager under its own drop down tab labeled "BJJCZ Device" rather then being included in the "universal serial bus controllers" drop down tab. Assuming this is the reason lightburn is unable to find the laser for communication?
Nope, more or less the same thing. Just a little more leg work to get those intial device settings since you won't be running a copy of ezcad from the factory to copy from.
I have a problem, yesterday i had it downloaded and working minus circles where not round but i was playing around with the software and the whole panel on the right disappeared along with the top section of tools on the left bar. Basically nothing is working now. And I’ve tried to redownload but no progress. Can you help?
Hey Alex, I got a galvo laser mopa 30w, I've managed to install lightburn and the drivers, the laser is connected but it's been identified as a UV, it's even framing but it's not engraving, the light just dances around like it is engraving but nothing. Any ideas??
Markconfig7 is inside the ezcad folder, it should be within the folder of ezcad2 if you have the program already. If you do not have a copy of ezcad2 that came with your laser, you can generate the device manually instead of importing it.
The answer should be "nothing" should be able to install right over your current installation. If you're nervous though go to the library tab and click Save and save a backup to your desktop which you can stash somewhere safe.
Libraries are now linked to devices. So you can make a new library for your galvo machine and when you switch to the galvo machine it will load up your galvo library.
In case anyone else runs into this. I had an error when loading my markcfg7. It said that the correction file (.cor) was not in some default file path (C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\EM\1924536SN20200723M101C.cor). So I created that file path on my computer took the .cor file that came on the usb stick with my laser and renamed it and put it in that location. This resolved the error. I haven't gone any further, so I can't confirm that it works for the following steps.

I already have LB on my Mac and just received my fiber laser. I bought the Galvo upgrade. How do I select the EZCAD driver ( I have the usb plugged in that came with the laser) when I already have LB installed? Do I need to uninstall LB?
Can I copy over my EzCad work parameter library or will I be able to export-import the file? ie. EzCad>PARAM>MarkParam.lib (assuming that's the correct file and location)

I already have LG galvo downloaeded
no matter what I do, the laser never ends up under Universal Serial BUS Device
Thanks for the info. Does all of this apply if I already had LB installed on my PC?
Hi! I imported all my Ezcad2 settings to lightburn. looked over all the settings and it looks good. only problem now is the scale. In Ezcad2 20x20 box is 20mmx20mm , the settings in lightburn for galvo1 and 2 with offsett etc is identical, but in lightburn 20x20 comes out as 18.5x18.5.
never mind, solved it :D
So how will I swap between my co2 and fiber?
They are just different devices in LightBurn. You choose the other device, and connect to the correct USB port.

@@LaserEverything The zadig driver swap fixed mine doing this
what do I do when my laptop doesn't see the laser? 60w galvo
Is there anything different to consider for us who aim to run it on a Mac?
Nope, more or less the same thing. Just a little more leg work to get those intial device settings since you won't be running a copy of ezcad from the factory to copy from.
If you copy the factory settings file from the Windows computer to the Mac isn’t it able to import the file on the Mac version?
So when do what you say mine does not go to ready it just says disconnected
I have a problem, yesterday i had it downloaded and working minus circles where not round but i was playing around with the software and the whole panel on the right disappeared along with the top section of tools on the left bar. Basically nothing is working now. And I’ve tried to redownload but no progress. Can you help?
At the top of lightburn, go to window, and select "reset to default layout", and that will return the UI to out of the box views.
I can’t find marconfig7. Suggestions?
screenshot your F3 Param pages and use it to fill out your device settings manually
Hey Alex, I got a galvo laser mopa 30w, I've managed to install lightburn and the drivers, the laser is connected but it's been identified as a UV, it's even framing but it's not engraving, the light just dances around like it is engraving but nothing. Any ideas??
Were you able to find out what the cause was? I'm having the same issue
markconfig7 tem no ezcad ou tem que baixar a parte?
Markconfig7 is inside the ezcad folder, it should be within the folder of ezcad2 if you have the program already. If you do not have a copy of ezcad2 that came with your laser, you can generate the device manually instead of importing it.
What happens to my lightburn library?
The answer should be "nothing" should be able to install right over your current installation. If you're nervous though go to the library tab and click Save and save a backup to your desktop which you can stash somewhere safe.
Libraries are now linked to devices. So you can make a new library for your galvo machine and when you switch to the galvo machine it will load up your galvo library.
Anybody using iMac OS and LB …can you advise how to inout the corfile2 please. I jave tried import, no show usung open :(
In case anyone else runs into this.
Regardless what I do its not showing my Fiber laser as connected
Sorry to hear that! If you're still experiencing troubles and the video guide hasn't helped, there may be something else going on. If you haven't, join one of the communities we list in the description and make a forum post, and the team and community can help troubleshoot further.

Check our recent uploads, we did a video about a converter just before the tutorial series started :)
@@LaserEverything Thanks. I watched them but must have missed that.
Idk if we explicitly state lightburn conversion but it's definitely supported
