As a scotch player, i'm so happy to see my favorite opening covered by you ! Do you have a good line against the mieses variation : e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 d4 exd4 Nxd4 Cf6 ? I find that the positions after Nxc6 bxc6 e5 very unconventional and hard to play : seems like everything is so fragile and i really would like to have something that pleases me in this variation ! Thanks Mio !

Great showdown of the Scotch game 👏🏻
I have played a lot of the Scotch Gambit, but have to look more into this. Keep up the good work Sir.

Thanks, Mio! I have recently started playing the Scotch Gambit, and I have won some fun games with it. Now you have me ready to play the straight Scotch Game😊
I will study this and let you know how it goes.

I don't know if you will see this, Mio; but I have played 5 games in the Scotch since watching this video. I won four (and I blundered in a winning position in the fifth) but nobody has played the critical mistake 4...Nxd4. I keep hoping someone will give me a chance to use these lines.

I am a Scotch Opening player ( low rating). This video covers 80% of the opponents replies ... Well done Mio .

Great content! A lot of beginners panic - not without reason - when they see the Scotch, so they just trade everything without realising taking the Knight on d4 is a big mistake.
It'd be very interesting to see some content on how to counter some of the Scotch/Scotch gambit most aggressive lines with black. I think you got some videos on this, so I'll be taking a look! Thanks for the content, Mio!

Thanks Mio, I´m learning too much with your videos. I specially like the video about the Max Lange atack. In my opinion, this video is a complentation of that. Thank you so much.

Why do you keep calling this opening for White "The Scotch Defence"? Is your chessable course called The Bishop's Defence? 😁

Hey man, I think this analysis is either oversimplified or misleading in some ways. I agree that Nxd4 is plain dumb but some of the continuations need further explanation. In mistake #3 Qf6 (top engine recommendation in this position) the engine shows that after 5... Qb6 Qxb6 white has less than a pawn advantage and frankly I think the position is unclear for someone rated below 2000 (your target audience). The only games I found with Qb6 in the lichess master database had different continuations than you suggested here. Mistake #4 5... b6 is in fact a bad move. But you said that on move 7... black no good reply. Sure, white is already winning but black can play ... Ne7 or ... d6 (first and second engine recommendations) without worsening the position. The last two examples seemed like more reasonable replies for black but let's be honest. Black's problems started with 4... Nxd4. From that point on, black is holding on for dear life and some continuations you provided like 5... Qf6 don't worsen the position further. The key is to take advantage of the one big mistake - 4... Nxd4. Thanks for the video!

I tried to make it simple and short. Not to go to deep and show how weak is the whole Nd4 concept and all variations after that…
